  1. IC: Timak, Ga-Koro Timak looks uncertain for a few seconds, torn. They already agreed to eat with Zadred, but Kimala seems very kind and the thought of missing an opportunity to train with her and possibly Leah was troubling. Not to mention, from the sound of it, The Great Takea would not be the best place for them right now... "Isn't there any other place we can eat?" Timak asks the group, "I'm really not sure I can deal with a crowd yet..." They squint through the busy village, looking to see if anybody is selling food on the street. Ah, how relaxing it would be to just sit on the edge of a lilypad, feet dangling in the water, staring out at the ocean while they gathered their thoughts and filled their stomach. Somehow, given the atmosphere and the pressing matters at hand, Timak doubted they would get such a chance, but they daydreamed anyway. @Vezok's Friend@Onaku@Mel@ARROW404
  2. IC: Timak, Ga-Koro entrance Timak looks up at Leah and marvels at the confidence with which she talks about the Rahkshi. There are more of these things? They find themselves hoping never to meet a living one - at least - not before getting some sort of practice in to work out their own powers and skills. Coming straight out of a canister right into a fight is something Timak was very thankful didn't happen. “You look pretty new...but not like the Dasaka that just arrived. Any memory of where you came from before? No worries if not, it’s a pretty common occurrence. " "You're right, I uh.. just washed up on that beach about 10 minutes ago." Gaining some confidence, Timak relaxes a little, and their Mahiki glows faintly once more as they return to their natural height. They notice it happen, this time. "Ah.. sorry about the involuntary illusion thing. I guess it must be some sort of nervous tic I developed. Wish I could remember how... Come to think of it, I really don't remember anything before being in that leaky canister." They gesture to Zadred, smiling, "I'm just glad this one was here to point me in this direction. I dread to think what sort of trouble I might've found otherwise." "I am Leah - Leah Maru." "I'm Ti--" "Welcome to Ga-Koro!" Timak stops and looks around, having been too caught up in the conversation to pay attention thus far. They notice the many eyes watching, and swallow loudly. "Timak... I'm just Timak" they stutter, distractedly. ooc: trivia time - Timak's subconscious instinct to visibly shrink at embarassing or frightening moments probably comes from the fact that they were a matoran upon entering the canister, which is the last time they were conscious. @Vezok's Friend @Mel @Onaku @ARROW404
  3. IC: Timak, Ga-Koro Gates Timak took in the scenery while Zadred explained to them about the Dasaka. Admiring the view of the bay, and taking in the mass of silhouetted ships that dominated the landscape of the village itself. They are so taken in with the sights that Zadred's voice starts to fade into the background a little, and as a side effect, Timak notices the three others a little while before she does. Who are those? They're carrying something... dead. Hunters? They continue to approach the trio. As the distance begins to shrink and their new companion shows no signs of slowing down, they begin to worry a little, eyes politely keeping contact with the skakdi as she talks but nervously flicking across to the trio on the collision path. Is she ... is she gonna stop..? They just about manage "Uh, Za - Zadred?" right before she abruptly stops in her tracks. Timak visibly shrinks behind her without thinking, making themselves appear to be the shortest Toa here by about an inch, their Mahiki giving off a little shine. "R-Rahkshi attack?" "Is that what that dead thing is? ... " Timak peers at the thing over Leah's shoulder. ".. What did it do?" ooc: @Vezok's Friend @Mel @ARROW404 @Onaku please do/say whatever you want to Timak
  4. IC: Timak, Naho Bay "Zadred. Zadred. Thank you. ... And wow, you're right" - they look uneasy - "it's just dawned on me how hungry I am!" Timak enthusiastically follows her lead as she sets off towards the village. Something else the Skakdi said bubbles up to the surface in their mind. The Toa, ambling along a couple of steps behind her, quickens their pace to make eye contact and queries, "You said dangerous... What should I keep an eye out for?" Ooc: @Onaku -and also, would be cool to "bump into" the rahkshi-hauling crew when we get to Ga-Koro? Am i allowed to say that here?
  5. IC: Timak, Naho Bay Timak was looking the other way when they heard the Skakdi's voice. Turning to face her, they spend a moment to take stock of the stranger, stepping towards her and waving a hand in uncertain reply. "Hello.. you're right, I just got here. I get the feeling I would have arrived sooner had my canister not developed a fault. Nearly drowned in there, I did." Timak has never seen her race before, and looks to be pondering whether to drop their guard or not. Something inside their head wanted them to be wary, but she had such a friendly tone... After a moment of thought, they stow their sword and extend a hand for shaking. "My name is Timak. I'm glad you noticed me out here before I made a fool of myself... to be honest I'm not quite sure what I'm here for." ooc: hey @Onaku!
  6. Was it me? Sorry if so, I'm new. Which would be the better topic?
  7. @Palm thanks! My character just arrived in Naho bay/heading towards Ga-Koro so I think there are a few characters they might meet once there! I don't really know what events are happening so I'm perfectly happy for some folks to just adopt me haha
  8. Hey, I've just joined and I'd love to get to know the people I'm playing with. (I've met @Vezok's Friend, @TL01 NUVA and @Geardirector elsewhere, and probably some others too) And if anyone has any tips for what Timak should join in with (who wants a toa of sonics on their party?) I'd love to hear them.
  9. [IC Timak | Naho bay] A canister appears on the horizon, idly being carried by the waves to wards the shore. Anybody watching may notice it tipping and bucking awkwardly, as though whoever was inside was battling to get out. Eventually as the canister nears the shore, the lid bursts away and a lithe grey figure heaves themselves, spluttering, into knee-deep water - the canister itself already having been half-filled from a leak - and weakly drags themselves ashore, dazed and squinting in the sunlight from their over-long stint in the can. Timak - yes, that's their name... They squint and look around, then stop to inspect their own body, finding no damages, but also - no tools! They swiftly turn and check the canister, lifting a heavy dual-blade out. It makes a soothing hum as it drags along the inside of the vessel, and Timak feels invigorated suddenly. They heft the blade, swishing it around in a few wide swings, listening to its song and absorbing the vibrations. Finally, their mood lightened by the small restoration of Sonic energy, Timak turns to view the surroundings and starts heading towards Ga-Koro, looking for someone to tell them what's what. OOC - First post yay! Timak's profile is here if anyone wants a look!
  10. Name: Timak (pronounced timm-ack) Species: Toa of Sonics Visual description: Primary colour: Dark Gray with Black accents Armor: Silver/Pearl-Dark-Gray Eyes: Yellow Build (non-illusioned): Lithe, androgynous, built for stealth, slightly above average Toa height. Gender: Male (uses he/him or they/them) Powers and/or weapons: Sonics abilities: Can use any sonics abilities known to most Toa of Sonics, but specifically has honed their ability to Acoustic Levitation - can hover up to 3 bio above a solid surface using concentrated sound waves, requires concentration Shattering - Trained their intuition to know the right frequency to shatter most common materials. New materials require some investigation time first. Dampening - With a low level of concentration (think maintaining good posture), Timak can passively filter out painful noises that would otherwise cause stress. Kanohi Mahiki: Only loosely attuned to their mask power so far. Knows how to create minor illusions (to use the DnD term). Major illusions require significant concentration. Can change their own visual appearance to look more intimidating, or for stealth purposes. Adopting a completely different visual form (e.g. Matau -> Nidhiki (but only in a visual sense as the rules state)) is incredibly difficult for them so far. Tuning Sword: They carry a sword which doubles as a tuning fork, amplifying their sonic powers greatly. Hitting this against an enemy immediately gives Timak knowledge of the most effective frequencies to use. Technological items: none, Timak is fresh out of canister currently Weakness(es): Incredibly loud noises, or persistent clamour, cause them physical pain (headaches). Not confident/intuitive: Timak often needs to be told what to do in specific terms, otherwise their lack of confidence will prevent them from progressing. Alignment: Neutral good. Tries to play by the rules but often makes rash decisions to get the job done. History: A "forced Toa" who, through Mata Nui's will, entered a canister in De-Koro as a Matoran, transforming inside and losing their memory while the canister floated to sea. Their canister developed a fault and has floated aimlessly in the sea instead of propelling towards the island, eventually washing ashore on Mata Nui by chance, shortly after the arrival of the Dasakan Fleet. They have no memory of their previous location/life, so will be looking for help. Personality and traits: Generally kind and well-intentioned. Quiet unless spoken to, but when they do talk, they usually have something important to say and get frustrated if ignored. When comfortable with present company, Timak is more relaxed and easy-going, often quipping and passing humorous remarks to lighten the mood. On the other hand, they can be known to complain when situations get tough. Name: Siika Species: Skakdi Element: Ice Visual description: Colours: White/Teal Eyes: Purple Build: Tall, thick-muscled but also pudgy on top. Gender: Female (she/her) Powers and/or weapons: Standard Ice powers (when collaborating with another Skakdi) Impact Vision Tower shield and Spear Skakdi fitness: Siika is in the upper 80% of skakdi strength. She can lift 2.5x her body weight. Technological items: none yet Weakness(es): Not very agile. Would slip on ice and probably fall through it. Can't win at dodgeball. Rash. Makes decisions without considering all consequences. Weak points: Neck, Under arms (basically all joints where skin is thinnest) Large battle wound from Ko-Koro on her left shoulder, scar is sensitive/painful when hit. Alignment: Neutral good. Doing her own thing, but wants to help make Mata Nui a better place. History: Siika washed up on the shores of Ko-Wahi a while back, previously living her life fairly solitarily, ice fishing and generally attempting to stay out of trouble. When Ko-Koro was overthrown, however, this moved her valiant spirit and she joined forces with the resistance to take the city back. Since then she has been nursing her wounds and trying to go back to a normal life. Personality and traits: Siika is proud and steadfast. If she makes a promise she will always hold to her word. She is often loud and unsubtle, but cares for her friends and won't intentionally offend them. Her main goal is to blow up and act like she knows everyone. She won't turn down a request for help, and has a strong sense of justice. Name: Zassani (za-SAH-nee) #999966 Species: Lesterin of Iron Appearance: Deceptively average height and build, hiding strong muscles on a thin frame. Primarily light-tan-brown, with teal/light-grey accents and head-crest. Orange skull/faceplate. His shoulder armor is formed into two light-grey ingot shapes, denoting his elemental heritage. Gender: Male (he/him) Powers: Iron passive: skin resistant to being cut or pierced, heightened endurance Equipment: He carries three sharp iron barbed throwing-disks, usually strapped to his thighs and back. Jet boots (slower than a Kadin, can hover) A plasma launcher, which fires a powerful energy shot that explodes on impact. Takes around 10 seconds to recharge after each shot. Personality: Zassani is grumpy most of the time unless someone has earned his respect. He speaks with a gruff, southern british accent, using as few words as possible, unless they're swear words. History: Having grown up on Zakaz, Zassani learned that survival meant being tough as nails. He kept himself fit, working his way up through the rough life of the streets of Zarrava, and started taking work as a mercenary as soon as he was able. Weaknesses: Zassani's lack of filter often gets him in trouble with the local Skakdi. In battle, he is arrogant, known to taunt, which can leave an opening for others to attack. Has an irrational fear of fire. He keeps this a closely-guarded secret, as it could be used against him.
