Both the eBay "eduardojj" seller and brick-link "BionicleUniverse" seller have the same back ground for the masks.

So what do you think that means? I'm pretty sure Eduardojj is not Bionicle Universe. So, either they bought this from them back in the day and are using old photos to list it, or they stole photos from bricklink (possibly after messaging bionicle universe for more photos), or it's a coincidence they have the same background. In my opinion it seems a bit more suspicious to me for it to match the background of a well known seller in the bionicle community, but then again I am a very skeptical person. Hopefully it is legit though.

Historically, it's been the first option.  (With deals like Only Star Wars or Only Ninjago).  The GWP will pop into your cart on the website once you've qualified for it, so if you don't see it, then you're probably missing.  And if you visit a Lego Brand Retail Store, the employees should be able to help you figure things out.

    :music:

Darn. I thought so =( plenty of lego sets I'd want, but none of those themes interest me really except the classic sets.

  3. (Sarcasm ahead)

Bionicle, Ninjago, and Xmen/Fantastic 4 should have a crossover. They all have heroes who use elemental powers. They all fight dark lords. Plus, DC published the bionicle comics, and DC once had a Marvel vs DC crossover where heroes from each group fought heroes from the other. So Bionicle should just crossover with all of DC and Marvel. Who do you think would win Kopaka vs Iceman? Tahu vs Human Torch? Gali in 3 way standoff vs Namor vs Aquaman? Onua's Pakari vs Superman? Potatu's kakama vs Flash vs Quicksilver?

The tiniest similarity doesn't mean it should be crossed with ANYTHING.

I've tried in vain to remove the smell from an old leather-bound book I inherited (my grandad was a heavy smoker). I've tried using baking soda, leaving it out in the air, etc. I can't tell if the smell is getting better or if I'm just getting used to it, lol

Anyway, I'll ditto the dryer sheet suggestion, since that makes sense to me. Perhaps other scented, smelly things would help (like Febreze?). I'd be reticent to try any method that might permanently damage the canisters.

Basic household stuff seems like the way to go for me; baking soda, dryer sheets, & maybe vinegar (if someone seconds that).

I successfully got the smoke smell out of a hand me down leather jacket using my method. That took longer than a week though. I sealed it in a trash bag air tight, and changed the dryer sheets twice a day. But the smell came out. Goodluck on the book!

Thank you :D For the longest time I also thought it was a US release. I will reveal all about that once I finish that set too!

The yellow special editions came in various DC and Sports Illustrated for Kids comics/magazines during the time of releases. I cant remember the exact issue numbers.

Very cool! I used to have two of the yellow ones that I got in a large lot of items. I just kind of assumed they were UK or Canadian variants or something. Now I kind of regret trading the yellow ones I had  =(

I knew i would get questions about this. I had a few of those already in my collection. They are also not US released promos! It belongs to a completely different set of comics in another English speaking region :)

I stand corrected! Thanks! Very nice collection!

Out of curiosity, how were the yellow border "special edition" ones released?

not sure which one is worth more but that appears to be the case. 14 total uk copper hunas (most are on mocs which is why the pic has 3, technically a 4th is up for trade too it was just with the collection stuff instead of my trades)

My understanding is that the UK is worth slightly more, but it’s been a while since I got my copper hunas.

  8. I doubt it's from a toa mangai. The shadowed one or teridax would have demanded proof that the toa was killed. The mask of a toa sounds like the best way to confirm the kill to me. So I feel like if it was eliminator, he would have taken the mask as proof back to his boss or the one who hired him.

I'm currently working on this very idea, actually. I'm not yet at the point where I have a full home setup where I can do this yet, but am taking some steps to do so. Custom kanohi is something I've wanted to get into for a long time (I have a product design degree so its up my alley). I will keep this thread updated :D

Please keep me posted! I'd love to see how it all turns out!

if you find someone, i'm also interested in a yellow ruru, given it's the one mask i want but can't get. (i wish there had been more of them!!)

Me too... I had high hopes for socketball masks since their moulds look absolutely amazing, but I've been waiting for their custom service to open for years. =,(

On the other hand, the internal narration from the Zadakh in the quoted portion isn't lacking in any way. That Vahki seems to be acting reasonably enough given the circumstances, even recognizing to retreat from a dangerous situation. They just got handed an unwinnable position, and were probably only included to make the Visorak look even cooler and more dangerous (not unlike the Exo-Toa in 2003 or Toa Nuva in 2006 being easily defeated).

True, ultimately you’re probably right. They were likely written to purposefully lose to make the visorak seem more impressive by completely one siding the vahki. I’ll have to re-read the story since it’s been a while, but I don’t remember the vahki being particularly strategic there, mostly “we’ll just kill anything that gets in our way”, then when they were losing “retreat!”. That sounds like a normal response, especially for gun happy ex-cops on a power craze, but not a particularly intelligent conversation. This again goes to the comparisons between a local police station trying to take on an army. The visorak just had bigger numbers, more intelligence, better training, and better weapons. Either way, I think we agree that the vahki had no chance and were completely dominated by the visorak.

Couldn't the Vahki in 2005 also shoot disinegrator blasts from their staffs because of the power surge, and also talk? That was a really underexplored element of 2005.

Theyve always been able to talk they just spoke way too fast to listen to. The power surge fried their brains and slowed down their speech. I think the disintegration blasts were also explained as their safety switches being fried and turned off also. In other words, I think they always had the ability to use full power disintegration blasts, they were just programmed not to. So I'd say the vahkis reasoning skills and tactics were probably fried with the rest of their brains. So I'd say they really weren't a threat since they were just gun happy idiots facing an army (in my opinion).
