  1. This is really hard. I want all the masks in all the colors! But I guess I'm a little OCD, and want to complete some of the more common canon sets. So I guess my top 3 would be

    1. The other noble masks in toa colors (I think this is good, especially because the canon specifies that the toa found copies of each noble mask, and color of mask is supposed to change to match the wearer except for Lhikan's gold mask. So I think it's weird the noble masks dont match the toa colors, i think they should have gotten proper toa colors even in the computer game).

    2. The other infected toa masks (here, I specifically mean the rusted, pockmarked ones like the hau. It disappoints me so much that some like the black huna are considered infected, while we never got the canon infected miru).

    3. All great masks in transparent. (This is a bit tough of a final choice, since all the options are tempting to me, but as a kid, I thought the transparent miru was so cool, and "made of" lewa's element. Which I thought was cool that they wound up actually saying that more or less in G2. But anyway, I regret we never got cool elemental promo versions for G1.

Again, this is really tough though since all the options are so tempting to me!

  2. I like the knockoffs if they can give new parts or new colors. For instance, the brick soldier knockoffs of Rahaga Bomonga and Rahaga Gaaki include black and blue solid rhotuka that we never got in the actual sets. And those are perfect for Toa Hagah mocs of thos two.

Yeah, i think the kraatana allowed krakua brain to travel through time into vakamas mind, not so much krakua himself physically went back.

In terms of pure power to stop velika, I dont know if tahu would really miss his masks. At the end of the storyline didnt he absorb all makuta and rahkshi powers? So even without masks and without his toa power, he would still have all makuta powers. Also, I think he matured alot from the beginning, shown by his fight with nektann. Plus the shadowed one could be an ally instead of an enemy. In the altnerate dimension where mata nui died and everyone repopulated the surface, the shadowed one was shown to be an ally. I think takanuva would try to use this information to convince everyone the shadowed one could be reasoned with. So the dark hunters could potentially help stop velika, since many of them have power that could match a toa (but since they're not toa, their power wouldnt be turned off by velika machine). Personally, I think tahu going all out with his absorbed makuta powers fighting side by side with miserix and the shadowed one to take on velika would be more interesting since all of them have incredible power that shouldn't be shut off by the toa machine.

Wasn’t Krakua time travel? Krakua/Time Trap was like everyone’s top favorite piece of content back in 07 and 08 and we kept waiting for him to show up in the present. He kind of showed up in a serial but I don’t recall that his warning from the future was ever explored. And for that reason, it does not make sense.

I dont think krakua himself time traveled. I think he sent his consciousness back in time through a kraatana, where the kraatana were able to send messages and thoughts back in time. So at best, I could see that happening, where velika caused some problems, and the order sends warnings back in time through kraatana.

I like the idea of certain figures going back to fix key events, but I also feel like many of them would leave them the way they are given the chance. Take Tahu, for example; although Ta-Koro was a great loss for him and many others I feel like going back to save it would be irrelevant. The lesson was learned, and the price he paid of losing his Suva was something he came to terms with.

Although I do love alternate future stories, many of the events that transpired were critical to story and character progression. Using the Olmak to explore these realities is fun, but I feel like purposefully changing the narrative is something a lot of the heroic characters wouldn't do.

Agreed. Most things probably wouldnt be changed. If takua never left, then he wouldnt have made it to Mata nui where he played key roles in 1)awakening the toa mata, 2) keeping rahi out of the temple so they wouldnt stop the toa from fighting makita, 3) facing the bohrok, and 4) being apparantly the only matoran of light on mata nui that could face makuta. So a little extra playtime with friends would have probably destroyed any chance of stopping makuta. Other ones like tahu losing his masks probably wouldnt be changed since they learned from it, and some like lhikan stopping the betrayal of tuyet would probably be unavoidable. So I think you have three cases: 1) the change would destroy the world, 2) the change wouldnt be done since it wasnt that bad and people learned from it, and 3) no matter how much they wanted to change it they couldnt.

Edit: it is potentially interesting though especially when fighting velika, who no one knows is bad until it's too late. I think the extent of time travel would stay where it is though, limited only to information and messages through the future from the kraatana. And not through actual moving through time.

    Hi,

What is the Master Builder set from 2002 ?

It was a single promotional set that included instructions for building ONE of several rahi. Even though there were multiple rahi in the instructions, the pieces limited you to choose which one you wanted. Having said that, it was an interesting little set for collectors.

Edit: if you want to see some of the rahi you could build, here there instructions to the set

    https://lego.brickinstructions.com/en/lego_instructions/set/10023/Bionicle_Master_Builder_Set

From my memory, no matter which rahi you picked, you could only ever have one at a time.

And I have one of misprint Iruini Kraata, but I didn't know that they exist in other stages than 3

This is my iruni stage 4 elongated one. For scale, I also included a normal kraata in the middle, and another elongated one (ironically the one that is elasticity power). I have a few elongated ones: kurahk, guurahk, a purple shadow one, the elasticity one, and the iruni misprint.

I feel that the elongated ones are definitely misprints, because I personally got the elasticity one, the guurahk, and the shadow one from sealed canisters, so no chance for them to have gotten damaged at all. The others I got from lots and found, so no idea if they came that way or not, but they look the same with no stress marks.

I really like the symmetry on your iruni kraata! I wish mine had more green, but I also like that mine is very clearly tricolor.

I got a few like that, I don't know if they are a mismold however.

Do you have a picture of your miscolored kraata you could post?

Definitely a mismould. I have a few of the elongated ones. One came directly from a rahkshi, 2 I got personally from new sealed kraata tubs. So I can confirm it was a mould issue rather than stress or damage. I dont have any pictures right now, but can take some later.

They gotta be out there somewhere, we just aren't looking in the right place I guess.

I think it's also an issue of people not realizing it is a misprint. I have a stage 4 one that I didnt realize was this camoflauge green tan one until a few years ago.

Edit: bonus points on mine I think because in addition to the misprint coloration, it is also one of the mismould elongated ones described here

  10. Please let me know if you have a copy you are willing to sell. Very open to offers. Thank you for any help!

P.S. For those unsure if you have the copy with extra pages, this variant has a red 2009 in the upper left corner of the cover instead of the release date/price. The extra pages show Mata nui fighting the vorox.

  11. Huh....really good question.....I dont think they would be. I think it fuses their body, mind, and spirit. The body would be larger than a regular sized toa, same size as a regular kalita I think. The mind wouldnt be one standard tahu, because he changed from the beginning. He grew up, changed as shown In his battles from piraka to challenging nektann. So the mind would be some fusion of all his personalities i think. I think the mask would be exactly as you suggested, and overly strong hau that would bebunvreakable essentially. All of this is conjecture though.

  12. Does anyone have the special theater distributed copy of glatorian 4?

The special version has extra pages that the normal version (which oddly enough still said special edition) didnt have. The extra pages were the ones featuring the fight between Mata Nui and a Vorox in the desert. You can see them in the version archived on BMP: http://biomediaproject.com/bmp/files/gfx/Comics/Bara Magna Saga/Comic04/Bara Magna Saga 04.pdf

Please PM me, I'd be very interested in getting a copy! Thanks for any help!

    Hi,

Longtime collector and builder of bionicles.  I’m a semi casual collector - I’m not generally after stuff like prototypes or one-of-a-kinds - but I fell in love with the pearl gold Kraahkan in 2013 and have been looking for one ever since. The pinned collectibles thread in this forum says it’s worth about $20 but I would be willing to pay more than that for someone who has one and is willing to sell it. If anyone knows anywhere else I can get one, I’d really appreciate the hint, too. This thing has been eluding me for almost a decade and I really want it so I can finally round off the last hole bothering me in my collection.

    Thanks,

    Kralich

That thread is very old. Nowadays, I think they sell for anywhere between $50-75. I've been looking for one too, but it's been evading me too.

I tend not to count the contest models (the ones with the most silvery bits on them) when I consider the context of things like this, given the begrudging nature with which they've been inserted into the canon. Spinax is all silver, so he gets a pass from me, and at least Fenrakk keeps most his silver confined to his head and... claws(? I don't know what to call them).

Limbs longer than we might be used to are usual for some rahi, but I can't think of one with one arm longer than the other.

I think the contest models are just as canon as any other model.  Plus there were some in story non contest models that fit the bill. This might a cheap shot since it's a combined of the toa hordika but the rock raptor was one rahi with random silver and one arm longer than the other.

Edit: the ash bear which usually has the form of makuta nui also fits that description I think.

Even on earth some animals have much bigger limbs. Such as various species of crabs with one ridiculously large claw. If you look at the wikipedia's picture for fiddler crabs, it has one limb much larger than the other and appears to have flecks of silver on the claw

I know they're supposed to look ugly, but that's because they're supposed to be animals, right? But the look doesn't match animals at all; I'm aware of no animals with silver armour and an elongated right limb!

I think you might be forgetting that they're not base on Earth animals. They're based on Rahi. And there's a ton of rahi with silver armor and disproportionate limbs, practically a full book's worth.

I was wondering why do Ta-matorans in Ta-metru make mask? Because they cant use their power. I know that without them they would die, but why do they make more? Or is it for replacement if someone's mask brokes?

I think the great beings programmed them with certain duties. The masks are likely for new matoran or if one breaks. Some masks are also meant just in case the toa of destiny need them. But ultimately, I think it’s just their programming as their duty in the universe.
