  1. I'm pretty sure that Wu even comes included with one of the JP sets. This was a perfect chance to put a Dr. Alan Grant figure out there. What a bummer.
  2. Do you live here? It's this piece, though I'm not sure where I got it. Huh, looks like it's a piece from the old 80's-90's Castle sets. I've never seen it before. But it definitely works!
  3. What piece is used for the tongue? It looks like a plastic minifig cape or something.
  4. I found these at my local Target today, minus Smaug (is that set LEGO store exclusive?) I picked up the Witch King without hesitation, but will pass on the others unless I find a good deal. Now I have my glorious Galadriel minifigure.
  5. Not to mention they're lame and cringey. You all realize this is just like coming up with a "cool" nickname for yourself, right? Anyone remember when Charlie Brown named himself "Flash" and everyone laughed at him? God forbid we get put on the same level as... Bronies ((shudder)).
  6. It's too late. You're already here. There's no going back.
  7. The collectible minifigures sell well with just about everyone, I believe. Also, Skylanders are still a huge thing proving that even larger collectibles can work in the same market LEGO is targeting. Ah, that's right, Skylanders! They've been going strong for a while. And unless I'm mistaken, I think I've seen Disney Infinity blind packs around. I think the mask packs were a huge part of the draw for me in 2001. I would love for them to go back to it, but I won't get my hopes up.
  8. It feels way too soon to be going right back to the Ignika. Bionicle has only been gone for 4 years. Not counting older, devoted fans, there will still be some crossover in the younger fanbase who would be thinking "they're going after the Mask of Life again?" I'm still banking on a soft reboot with a brand new story borrowing old characters. It'll make getting into the franchise easy for new kids, and won't feel completely jarring for existing fans (I assume Lego wants to keep their old fans while bringing in new ones at the same time). I'm thinking this is a new mask, with no backstory for people to catch up on. Make it fresh and new for everyone. Why? It STARTED with the Ignika, why not start with it? Its not like the Ignika is this mysterious thing. What if the Ignika isn't THE subject (with the heroes thinking that it is) but actually a small componant in a much bigger picture? I mean, the main objective that the Ignika is done, so baddies wont be going after the kanohi for the same reasons as before. What started with the Ignika? I don't understand what you're saying. On another note, has anyone considered that this mask isn't really that important to the story at all, and is just a Titan-sized set mask or something? Remember how much visibility the Hau used to have? It was just Tahu's mask. I know the Matoran used as a symbol for Mata Nui and all, but in 2001, it was just an easily recognizable Kanohi.
  9. I don't know, are kids into collecting nowadays? When I was a youngster it was, with Pokemon etc. Bionicle moved from collectibles to launchers in 2004 and never turned back. Lego likes to use focus groups, so if collecting isn't a fad now I don't see the mask packs returning. I'd be interested to see how well the Collectible Minifigures are doing with the younger demographic though. If blind packs are selling well to them, it's a possibility I guess.
  10. I think the maybe really unlikely. Why "really unlikely"? All it needs is a peg.

  12. HERESY! Actually, I think most people reach some point when they're "too old" for buying sets, but you just come back to it in a few years and pay too much making up for the missed sets
  13. I'd be down for an Incan style theme in the new Bionicle.
  14. You're right, maybe it's not confirmed. But I don't think they would do a reboot without some tie to the past storyline. A golden Kanohi mask wasn't introduced until 2003 (and this is in no way the Avohkii) and before that the conflict was all about the creatures of the island. It wouldn't make any sense to fully rewrite the story and only keep the six Toa the same. I think that a continuation is more likely here. The whole point of a reboot is to sever it from the previous storyline and start new. At that point they can do whatever they want - borrow characters and story elements from the previous iteration, or just make something completely different. What you seem to be talking about is a soft reboot, where the previous story is not discarded, but is also not necessarily relevant to the new story. This allows new fans to get on board without feeling like they need to catch up on years of story, but also allows longtime fans to enjoy it as a continuation. I'm just hoping, if this is indeed the NYCC reveal, that we get some clarification on what the situation here is. Or if it's no longer taboo, see if Greg can fill fans in on what the deal is.
