  1. I'm pretty sure that Wu even comes included with one of the JP sets. This was a perfect chance to put a Dr. Alan Grant figure out there. What a bummer.
  2. Do you live here? It's this piece, though I'm not sure where I got it. Huh, looks like it's a piece from the old 80's-90's Castle sets. I've never seen it before. But it definitely works!
  3. What piece is used for the tongue? It looks like a plastic minifig cape or something.
  4. I found these at my local Target today, minus Smaug (is that set LEGO store exclusive?) I picked up the Witch King without hesitation, but will pass on the others unless I find a good deal. Now I have my glorious Galadriel minifigure.
  5. Not to mention they're lame and cringey. You all realize this is just like coming up with a "cool" nickname for yourself, right? Anyone remember when Charlie Brown named himself "Flash" and everyone laughed at him? God forbid we get put on the same level as... Bronies ((shudder)).
  6. It's too late. You're already here. There's no going back.
  7. The collectible minifigures sell well with just about everyone, I believe. Also, Skylanders are still a huge thing proving that even larger collectibles can work in the same market LEGO is targeting. Ah, that's right, Skylanders! They've been going strong for a while. And unless I'm mistaken, I think I've seen Disney Infinity blind packs around. I think the mask packs were a huge part of the draw for me in 2001. I would love for them to go back to it, but I won't get my hopes up.
  8. It feels way too soon to be going right back to the Ignika. Bionicle has only been gone for 4 years. Not counting older, devoted fans, there will still be some crossover in the younger fanbase who would be thinking "they're going after the Mask of Life again?" I'm still banking on a soft reboot with a brand new story borrowing old characters. It'll make getting into the franchise easy for new kids, and won't feel completely jarring for existing fans (I assume Lego wants to keep their old fans while bringing in new ones at the same time). I'm thinking this is a new mask, with no backstory for people to catch up on. Make it fresh and new for everyone. Why? It STARTED with the Ignika, why not start with it? Its not like the Ignika is this mysterious thing. What if the Ignika isn't THE subject (with the heroes thinking that it is) but actually a small componant in a much bigger picture? I mean, the main objective that the Ignika is done, so baddies wont be going after the kanohi for the same reasons as before. What started with the Ignika? I don't understand what you're saying. On another note, has anyone considered that this mask isn't really that important to the story at all, and is just a Titan-sized set mask or something? Remember how much visibility the Hau used to have? It was just Tahu's mask. I know the Matoran used as a symbol for Mata Nui and all, but in 2001, it was just an easily recognizable Kanohi.
  9. I don't know, are kids into collecting nowadays? When I was a youngster it was, with Pokemon etc. Bionicle moved from collectibles to launchers in 2004 and never turned back. Lego likes to use focus groups, so if collecting isn't a fad now I don't see the mask packs returning. I'd be interested to see how well the Collectible Minifigures are doing with the younger demographic though. If blind packs are selling well to them, it's a possibility I guess.
  10. I think the maybe really unlikely. Why "really unlikely"? All it needs is a peg.

  12. HERESY! Actually, I think most people reach some point when they're "too old" for buying sets, but you just come back to it in a few years and pay too much making up for the missed sets
  13. I'd be down for an Incan style theme in the new Bionicle.
  14. You're right, maybe it's not confirmed. But I don't think they would do a reboot without some tie to the past storyline. A golden Kanohi mask wasn't introduced until 2003 (and this is in no way the Avohkii) and before that the conflict was all about the creatures of the island. It wouldn't make any sense to fully rewrite the story and only keep the six Toa the same. I think that a continuation is more likely here. The whole point of a reboot is to sever it from the previous storyline and start new. At that point they can do whatever they want - borrow characters and story elements from the previous iteration, or just make something completely different. What you seem to be talking about is a soft reboot, where the previous story is not discarded, but is also not necessarily relevant to the new story. This allows new fans to get on board without feeling like they need to catch up on years of story, but also allows longtime fans to enjoy it as a continuation. I'm just hoping, if this is indeed the NYCC reveal, that we get some clarification on what the situation here is. Or if it's no longer taboo, see if Greg can fill fans in on what the deal is.
  15. The new horse was indeed introduced with the LoTR line. The Uruk Hai in the movie were mostly black and dark brown. Lurtz was reddish I guess. I like the dark red but some variation in this set would have been nice.
  16. I've seen them before, but didn't realize the dude with the helmet was Evil Kenevil until now. So count me in for everything but the swimmer and tennis dude, with multiple knights and space marines.
  17. That little X-Wing set... it is EXACTLY the same as the 30051 polybag X-Wing set. I just picked one up from a Five Below store for $3.99. Neat little thing, but I thought they were different models.
  18. Well, they did do a vampire in series 2, which is pretty much Dracula. Thus showing precisely how familiar I am with the collectible minifigure series. :PAlso, have they done a fencer yet? I don't think they have. I'd like to see one of them. They haven't- but it would be easy for them to produce one. Just use the Muskateer Minifigs sword, and one of those new Ninjago helmets and there you go!Has anyone seen Series 6 yet? Is there a discussion thread for these? I am having a near-impossible time finding them, only found a few remnants of a single white box last week.
  19. Thanks for the review! But since when has "minimal use of pins/connectors" been a plus? Unless you mean we don't have blue and red dots all over, which I can agree with. But I really don't like this ball-connected armor system.
  20. What do you mean? The breakout, winter 2011 sets are already out.I mean the rest of the winter sets. I've been going around three different boards and there's like nothing for Furno, Breez, Thornaxx, and Splitface. My Toys R Us only has the listed sets as well. I was wondering where Furno and friends were. I noticed with the 3.0 line, this particular TRU only had certain sets at first as well, but then a bit later the others filtered in. Maybe it has something to do with how the boxes are packed. They might have a box of Evos+Reapas, etc, and decided not to put out the boxes with the other figures yet.
  21. It appears this BOGO 50 is continuing this weekend as well, except Star Wars is included this time I believe.
  22. Another interesting tidbit from the press release that I did not notice until now: I wonder, is this just a general reference to the minifigs contained in the sets, or are we going to see LOTR-themed Collectible Minifigures? Or is it going to be something like the Ninjago individual minifig packages?
  23. The Ring is actually shown in the teaser I linked above. It's the diameter of a minifig's hand, so it can't be worn, but that's okay because it shouldn't be anyway. Also, the large size doesn't bother me because it can change sizes.I seriously haven't been this excited about a toy since I was a kid. A great feeling!Edit: Looking again, the ring seems to have a standard peg size inner diameter. Maybe it could fit over half a minifig's hand?
  24. I haven't seen a topic for this, but sorry if there is one.Greatest thing ever.Nothing can express my joy at the news that LEGO has acquired the LOTR and Hobbit licenses. I was already super-excited and giddy about the new Hobbit trailer being revealed soon, and this has just broken the needle on my nerd joy gauge. Next year will be absolutely glorious. So what kind of sets do you guys expect there will be? One scene from The Hobbit that seems pretty likely to me is Bilbo's encounter with the trolls, since we already have troll molds. We have the "elf hair" mold already too, so Rivendell has a good chance of making an appearance. What do you think?
