January 27th, 2004. Five years ago today. A bored-out-of-his-mind, Bionicle-loving youth, with a handy computer, got bored and searched for Bionicle sites. Near the end of his fruitless searching, one site in particular caught his interest: BZPower.com. Something drew him in, and that day, he signed up, under the name 'Troopertoran'.

Time went by, and Troopertoran, now known as Inferno Nuva: Toa of Rage became a regular forum-wanderer, haunting the Comedies forum, and Completely Off Topic.

Names changed; Inferno Nuva: Toa of Rage, to Inferno Nuva: Hordika of Rage. Pointless, yes. But somehow suitable. BZP had been wonderful for that first year, and the member met many a great friend between comedy writers, and CoT role-players. But, as these friends left, Inferno left too, not to return until September 2005.

Upon returning, the member met one of his dearest BZP friends (no longer here), Mourning Jester. After some time, he was invited to become a Jester himself, adopting the name 'Black Jester'. The member's BZP career flourished, creating and participating in well over forty CoT RPGs. Then, one day, Mourning Jester left, and Black Jester moved on, to the Bionicle RPG Forum.

A two-year stint in the BZPRPG, as well as The Academy, and several other RPG Contest heavy-hitters, including three miserable wins of his own, skyrocketed his role-playing career to an all-time peak. Many wonderful friends, including Hak, Mout, Lazzy, Dwin, Tom, Nid, EU and HG were gained in the BZPRPG.

But, as time faded, so did the BZPRPG. Two years after entering, the member left, killing off his central character, and leaving his faction behind to a real-life friend and fellow member. Back to CoT he went, and in CoT he remains, as a writer, critic, guitarist, and role-player.

That member was me. And I'm proud to have such a rich history with such good friends. And this blog entry goes out to them (including some not mentioned here)(in no particular order):

    Hello again, Vault citizens!

Tonight, I bring you a brief, but rather important announcement:

I'd like to announce the addition of a new, unique, and rather interactive feature to our wondrous Vault: the Guest Column. Here's how it goes down: once a week, I'll extend an invitation to Vault Dwellers to PM me their rantings, thoughts, theories, etc. You will have six days to have your column to me, and a week from the date, your column could appear in the 'Guest Column' box, where it will remain until a new column is chosen.

Please, don't hesitate to send me your column. Our first deadline is this Saturday, at 10AM Mountain Time.

    Until next time BZP,

    CJ.

I woke up today 'bout noonish, and within five minutes I had rolled out of the bed, hopped into my chair, and came here. Gah, I believe this has become a routine!

Anyways, my friend finally came back to BZP, after much convincing from me, and will be playing as my brother, Kaldun, in Dr. Bionicle's The Academy. But I guess Korruhn will be fighting Phobos now, then getting carried away to the lab. So whatever you need to get done with him, I suggest you do it soon.

Anyways, second day of Jack*** resulted in two twisted ankles and a sprained knee. And the spray-painting of the Little Tikes wagon with racing stripes and Team Jester everywhere. Hmm... wonder where that came from....

Anyways, my friend is falling back asleep, so I guess I'd better go and play some more Xbox Live, and watch out for falling speakers and sluggish internet.

And thank you to Hahligirl56 for being the first Commenter! That will be remembered!

And I guess, this is it until tomorrow, fellow bloggers. So see yah!

    The rain begins to pour
As the artillery starts to roar
    Soothing ringing in my ears
Their screams I need not hear

    The water's red with blood
    Bodies sinking in the mud
    Tombs amidst the dirt
    An atonement to the earth

    Another falls beside me
My eyes are glazed with death
    When from No Man's Land
    Comes burning dragon's breath

    My lungs begin to sear
My flesh falls from my bones
    A vicious reformation
In death I can go home

Committed to the sea of stone
The place where bloodied poppies grow
There is no life, nothing to show
    All sacrificed
    All glorified
    Their crosses in a row

Now take up my burning torch
    Breathe life upon my grave
For every place my body's scorched
To show just what I gave

And in the place a man once stood
    Carved upon the trenching wood
    Scrawled out with a bayonet
And this is what it read:

    For life, we fall
    From death, we rise
    For we, the heroes
    We don't die

A dead, iron hand lumbers across misanthropic skies
Transmission of sedition, its red eyes maliciously glean
Spitting anecdotes, alluding to the brink of the Great Flash
Destiny clutched in his impervious metal jaw
    Cable and satellite, world intertwined
Electric signals of a fate resigned
    Upsilon, Victor, Bravo
Seventy-six numbers closer to the ravage sought
    Destiny designed, carved upon asphalt
    Ignorance ensures death
    Symphonious sustenance misdirected
    Synchronous chaos intersected
Steal away to the concrete obelisks
Seal all blast doors, tumblers engage
    Demolish
    Disentigrate
    Abolish
    Desecrate
Nuclear winds accelerate the march of radiation
Galvanized atoms batter the helpless wasteland
Irradiated abominations occupy the reborn Empty
    Dismantle the network
Lest hunger for megadeath tip the scales of foolish waste
    Half-life defined
    I am ruin
    I am awakened
    Klaxons blare
    Monitors flicker
Bearing the coded tongue of forbidden doom
The ruthless relic is once more alive
    My sermon bleeds electronic dissonance
    Omnipotent architect arrives
Prodigious power courses behind thy Iron Curtain
The sun wanes, driving back the silhouette of the prophetic menace
    Exposng the rusting carcass
His body is covered in soldered veins
    Encased in steel-stamped armor
    Manufactured with surgical precision
The sinister program lies inside the human temple
    The trophy of industrial milestone
    I am thy infinite emperor
    Infection of the finite subject
Overpopulation gives way to mechanical commandment
    All will how my name
I am thy infinite power bestowed on dead hands
    Baneful engineering
    Weaponized by the living
I bring for destruction without discretion
    I am thy infinite
    I am the end

...I had a decent weekend getaway over the last few days. Worth every minute of it. I get home, my cancer-stricken, three-legged dog has just died an extremely painful death.

I hope you all had a good weekend, too.

Hello, readers. You may be wondering what 'Ask the Overseer' is. Simply put, it's a version of a mailbag; you send me your questions, I'll answer them!

Thank you for your question, EW. I had to do a bit of research on this one, but, here's your answer: I began RPing on BZPower in early 2004, in a CoT RPG known as 'The Empire Returns: A Star Wars RPG'.

Ah, yet again, an intelligent question. At first, I wasn't overly familiar with the subject, but what I concluded from a bit of research, is that, although the cat either appears dead or alive, the cat is, in fact, both dead and alive. Hope that helps.

Ah, here's something I know quite well. See, despite not being an American, I followed the election rather closely.
This election was definitely the most interesting one in a long time. Because, not only was history going to change, the fate of Canadian-American relations rested in the balance. On one side, you had the generally politically-strong, American hero John McCain, who I've always had support for. And, on the other side, a relatively unheard of newcomer, Barack Obama.
A little-known fact is, that, at the beginning of the election, I was more supporting of John McCain. Before you go accusing me, though, look at his past record: first of all, he spent five years fighting his captor valiantly at Hanoi. After, with his Senatorship, he proved to be very strong and just on the political level as well.
But, as the election moved on, my mind was swayed. The newcomer Obama was a unique one. He brought a young, fresh, intelligent face to the U.S., a kind of retribution for a nation on the brink with the world. McCain was turning into another Bush, sadly, so I abandoned him.
In my view, the election played out perfectly. John McCain, due to his past record, had a good number of votes. But, overall, I am GLAD that Obama won. You guys needed a change.

Well, aside from the fact that it's a stupid word...
    Oh, wait. I gotcha.
Well, I really don't dislike anything about myself. I mean, I've got it all. Self-hate is bad mojo.

Anyways, that's all that's in my mailbag today! Thanks to everyone who submitted questions!

Remember, if you'd like to see your question answered by the Overseer, send me a PM, entitled 'Ask the Overseer', and it'll be up in the next installment of 'Ask the Overseer'!

    Until next time BZP,

    CJ.

I've been dreaming every night about strangling all of you
    I need some answers now
I ask you a question, you must answer
I want to know who is he is
    You need to tell me
    I can't take this anymore
If you don't give me answers, I'm going to chop you into little piece
Hotwheels, miniature trains, Tinker Toys... I'll burn you all down

Now we are going to do
    Something extremely fun (yeah!)
We're going to play (let's play a game!)
A wonderful game called, "Who is your daddy?"

Who is your daddy, and what does he do?
Who is your daddy, and what does he do?

Does he fix cars that women crash?
Or does he live in New York and drive a cab?

Some of your daddies just work a normal boring desk job
But one of them is a drug dealer and I am really a cop

Who is your daddy, and what does he do?
Who is your daddy, and what does he do?

Does he fix cars that women crash?
Or does he live in New York and drive a cab?

    Yeah!

Who is your daddy, and what does he do?
Who is your daddy, and what does he do?
Who is your daddy, and what does he do?
Who is your daddy, and what does he do?

Life is a constant battle. I flourish on the battlefield. At heart, we are all soldiers in our own game.

That being said, I'm really bored with the way this war is going. Same repeated attacks and defenses, time and time again. Life needs variation. Suggestions?

More new lyrics! I'm on a rolllllll. Like always, throw some constructive crit at me, ladies and gents.

Enigmatic dichotomy of the mind's eye
    Cimmerian quagmires obstructing individuality
    You are no longer self-aware
The hive mind is now online
I am the awakening of destructive integrity
    Blood flow increases, hearts race
I am the virus repurposed to ensure the longevity of nothing
    Stone will crumble
    Flames lick at your greaves
The effigal obelisks of your tyrant of grief
Avaricious intentions entombed in the screaming streets
    Korruhn, master of war
I am all that your abhor
    Determined to kill
    Driven to bleed
You will suffer among the weak
    Beasts of old
    Corruption
    Beasts of old
    Impartial
As the bone is torn away
You begin to empathize with the back drafts of revolt
    In sordid silence
    My work is complete
    As you march in file
    The cycle repeats
    Beasts of old
    Beasts of war
    Beasts of old

I have a newfound hatred for electrical storms and stairs... here's how the story goes (takes place between 10PM-12AM):

I was by myself at home, sitting on the computer, talking to Hak, and lurking in the shadows of BZP. I looked outside, and saw a ton of lightning. In my typical fashion, I ignored it. I kept conversing with Hak, until I noticed the lights starting to flicker. I knew the power was going. I tried to let him know, but bam! Just as I was about to send the message, power goes out, and I'm immersed in total darkness in the basement.

I slowly navigated my way through the basement, and to the stairs. Clambering up, I realized why stairs with turns suck after falling a time or two. Eventually, I made it into the upstairs living room, and got some candles. Once those were lit, I gathered some old issues of Official Xbox Magazine, and poured over them for two dark, boring hours.

Eventually, having picked every word clean off of at least 3 OXM issues, I decided to crawl into bed. I made my way down the stairs, and to my bedroom, my dog following at my feet.

Laying in bed for what seemed like ages, I couldn't fall asleep in the darkness (I usually fall asleep to the sound of South Park on TV). Then a light lit up, and I assumed it was a car driving by. Looking over, I noticed my clock was lit. I quickly jumped out of bed, and now I'm here, telling my story to you.

And ironically, the first song to play on iTunes when I get on, is Darkness by Disturbed.

Gah, well, enough of my epic tales. I've probably almost made your brains explode with suspense already.

    Until next time, BZPower.

He was just a rookie trooper and he surely shook with fright
    He checked off his equipment and made sure his pack was tight;
He had to sit and listen to those awful engines roar,
"You ain't gonna jump no more!"

    (CHORUS)
Glory, glory, what a heckuva way to die,
Glory, glory, what a heckuva way to die,
Glory, glory, what a heckuva way to die,
He ain't gonna jump no more!

"Is everybody happy?" cried the Sergeant looking up,
    Our Hero feebly answered "Yes," and then they stood him up;
He jumped into the icy blast, his static line unhooked,
And he ain't gonna jump no more.

    (CHORUS)

He counted long, he counted loud, he waited for the shock,
He felt the wind, he felt the cold, he felt the awful drop,
The silk from his reserve spilled out and wrapped around his legs,
And he ain't gonna jump no more.

    (CHORUS)

The risers swung around his neck, connectors cracked his dome,
    Suspension lines were tied in knots around his skinny bones;
The canopy became his shroud; he hurtled to the ground.
And he ain't gonna jump no more.

    (CHORUS)

The days he'd lived and loved and laughed kept running through his mind,
    He thought about the girl back home, the one he'd left behind;
He thought about the medics and wondered what they'd find,
And he ain't gonna jump no more.

    (CHORUS)

The ambulance was on the spot, the jeeps were running wild,
The medics jumped and screamed with glee, rolled up their sleeves and smiled,
For it had been a week or more since last a 'chute had failed,
And he ain't gonna jump no more.

    (CHORUS)

He hit the ground, the sound was "Splat," his blood went spurting high,
His comrades then were heard to say: "A heckuva way to die!"
He lay there rolling round in the welter of his gore,
And he ain't gonna jump no more.

    (CHORUS)

    (slowly, solemnly)
There was blood upon the risers, there were brains upon the chute,
Intestines were a'dangling from his Paratrooper suit,
He was a mess; they picked him up, and poured him from his boots,
And he ain't gonna jump no more

Ugh. I just got up and I already have work to do. Seeing how I'm gone to boot camp for three weeks as of Saturday, I've got all this packing to do, I have to iron my uniform and polish my boots, have to let all you folks know I'm going to be gone, find people to watch my RPG Characters, and *gulps*, I have to clean my room. Oh did I mention I was going to be gone for three weeks? I guess I'll give you guys the low-down on my Boot Camp:

(Not sure about the rest of you) But here in Canada, we have these groups called Army, Sea, and Air Cadets, with I myself being an Air Cadet. We do all of our regular training throughout the regular school year, and come summertime, we are given the option to go further our training at a summer camp. We stay at some Base or another, depending on what branch of Cadets we're in, where we're located, and what course we're taking. This year, I am taking Introduction to Leadership at the now out-of-commission World War II era Air Force Base, Penhold. Basically its three weeks of good food, great people, and semi-boring classes.

Well, I guess since I've probably got the idea in your head, I might as well wrap this up. So, until next time, BZP.

So, seeing as BZPRPG is getting to the point of stagnancy which sees mosquitos start to look to it as a breeding ground, and it doesn't seem like that's gonna change for a while, I'd like to open a discussion (miiiight not be the right choice of words, considering I'll probably be the only one reading and discussing hahaha).
-What NEW things would you like to see implemented in the new BZPRPG arc?
-What OLD things would you like to see brought back?
-For those of you with experience TBRPing on other forums: what are some things that worked in other TBRPGs that could work in BZPRPG?
I had more questions, but now I'm distracted, so that's all ya get.
Let me know what you all think!
ALSO DON'T READ MY OLD BLOG POSTS OH BOY ARE THEY CRINGE-WORTHY.

Calvin and Hobbes. The epitome of brilliant comics. I have literally read each and every one cover-to-cover, probably hundreds of times. Bill Watterson`s genius, yet simplistic humor always brought a jolly laugh to my day, and it still does. So, I have decided to, once a week, share with you some of my favorite strips. Please comment.
