  1. IC: Korruhn, The Ambling Alp ”Let’s not get ahead of ourselves,” he replied. “Sidra may have the stones, but she’s certainly not the only one who knows of them, or is vying for the same thing we are. Let’s worry about stopping them first.” OOC: @Toru Nui
  2. IC: Korruhn, Kumu Peninsula ”Indeed. I don’t know much, but I’ll tell you what I know,” Korruhn replied. “Our world as we know it has been cyclical in nature, our cycle included. We have reached the end of that cycle. I don’t know the means, but when it ends, most of us will die, the world will reset, and we will forget again until the next cycle meets its end. ”But, we have a means to end the cycles for good. With the six Makoki stones inserted at the Kini-Nui, the cycle is to come to an end, somehow. Sidra has taken at least two of these to the Kini already. Two more may yet be out there, but we won’t know until we arrive. All I know is the one who ends the cycles will hold the power when the dust settles.” OOC: @Gecko Greavesy @EmperorWhenua@Toru Nui @Void Emissary
  3. IC: Korruhn, The Ambling Alp The group filed into the Alp; a large group for the small ship. But they squeezed in anyway, and soon the air began to be filled with questions and chatter. Korruhn looked forward from his place in the back lounge, with his back to the wall, the large bag on his back brushing the wall (as he couldn't fit in the cockpit while in his ACR), and smiled a subtle smile. As much as he had no clue who these people were, and an apprehension to trust them, Korruhn couldn't help but feel delight at being in a group again, and with his best friend to boot. "Alright, alright," Korruhn addressed the group. "I know you've all got a lot of questions; but let's start with introductions, as I'm sure we'd all like to know who we're riding to the end with. I am Korruhn, the Cartographer of Ko-Metru. I am familiar with my friend Leklo, of course, the Aspect, Whisper, and I've learned the name of Parnassus; but who might the rest of you be?" OOC: @EmperorWhenua @Void Emissary @Gecko Greavesy @Toru Nui
  4. IC: Korruhn, Kumu Peninsula ”Is this... no it can’t be, they shot it down over Fort Nektann.” Korruhn said, climbing aboard. But surely enough, as he stepped in, it was the same Alp he remembered. ”Are your friends coming with?” OOC: @EmperorWhenua
  5. IC: Korruhn, Kumu Peninsula "Spiriah? Never heard of him," Korruhn shrugged. "Can't say I did anything to him. I presume you don't know why either? He didn't say? "Interesting. I think I know where the others are. But we need to get back to the temple, stat." OOC: @EmperorWhenua
  6. IC: Korruhn, Kumu Peninsula "Yeah, he and half the island it seems. All I've encountered in the past few months are more Aspects." Koruhn contemplated the question. He hadn't exactly been the friendliest of souls on the planet, surely. But wanting him dead specifically? What had he done to draw such ire? This world was a cut-throat place, and Korruhn did what he needed to do in order to end this, and surely some of those things had crossed some people. "I suppose I have been productive. The Warskaks certainly aren't my biggest fans; nor is the Aspect Uhuraz, but he and his followers are all dead now anyway," Korruhn continued. "Could be Nuju. Remember that weird encounter in the Hideaway? I got back to Metru Nui after the fight with Axonn--forgot about that guy too--his office was filled with taboos and dark lore. He's not what he's been presenting himself to be. "Anyways, why? What's this about?" OOC: @EmperorWhenua
  7. IC: Korruhn, Kumu Peninsula "Well I guess you're more successful in your quests than I've been, my friend," He replied with a hearty chuckle. But then his face turned serious. "This world is crumbling, Leklo. Many people, including our old rival Sidra, are hunting the Makoki Stones to end it and seize power in the new time. If we don't get to Kini and put our foot down, we could have some real problems." Korruhn looked again to the Aspect, looking furious, and his brethren, and back at Leklo. He thumbed in the direction of the group. "I see you've been keeping strange company as well. Why does the Aspect know my name?" OOC: @EmperorWhenua
  8. IC: Korruhn, The Caldera Korruhn stood, enveloped in the cloak of his Kraata of Darkness, awaiting his reply. It came, but not from a voice he expected. "Korruhn." The Toa let out a great sigh. The voice sounded like the audible representation of disappointment. Long ago had Korruhn run thin on patience, and after the encounter with Sidra, he was in no mood for any sort of welcoming party of any kind. This was not more than a nuisance. He let down his Kraata, showing his armoured form to the pest before him. An Aspect. Of course. Just what Korruhn needed. Thankfully, to his right, stood Leklo. A wave of relief washed over Korruhn; a feeling of home and comfort he had not felt in what seemed to be an eternity. Nothing in the world was more important in this moment; no Aspect, no war, no end of the world. Nothing. He ignored the being next to him; he had no time or patience to be pestered again. "My friend!" Korruhn smiled, the first time his face had felt the muscles move like that in ages. "I wish we had time to catch up; I'm so glad to see you. What are you doing down here?" OOC: @EmperorWhenua @Void Emissary
  9. IC: Korruhn, Kumu Peninsula Korruhn made haste away from the temple complexes, back up the Peninsula in the direction of Kini-Nui. Activating his Kraata of Darkness, the Toa disappeared into the mire and murk of the shadows surrounding him; not even a Toa Nuva could pierce the veil. As he started his journey, Korruhn reflected on the encounter he'd had with Sidra and Taja. In his heart was fire; all he could feel were rage, pain and betrayal. The hurt in Taja's eyes was reflected in Korruhn's soul, amplifying his own malignant emotions. What happened to Unity, Duty, Destiny? Did they get to Unity and give up? Korruhn felt the pain of walking away from his fellow Toa, but he could not shake the feeling he got seeing her standing next to Sidra, as an ally of all things! Sidra the TERRORIST, that is. Sidra the thief, Sidra the assassin, Sidra the denegration of all that was good and pure in this world. And Taja stood beside her, and was hurt when HE wouldn't help?! We're TOA, we are the guardians of the Matoran, and the vanquishers of their threats. Not allies of evil. If we forgive and forget all her actions, we're just playing a cycle again. She will repeat her pattern of behavior. And yet, I am the evil one, of course. It was the worst possible thought Korruhn could have had, Sidra the Parasite, the enemy of Metru Nui, had pulled the cloak over the eyes of nearly everyone he knew and loved, and turned them against him. If Sidra couldn't figure out why Korruhn hated her now, he would have to begin questioning her intelligence. Alas, as Korruhn walked away from the pair, he felt well and truly alone. There was only one person left he could trust. He approached the location he was told he would be at, and called his name. "Leklo!?" OOC: @EmperorWhenua Note: there's some stuff that happens between the Sidra encounter and this post, still jamming that out though
  10. IC: Korruhn, Kumu Peninsula The tide of understanding cascaded across Korruhn like a wave, the waters filling every gap in his mind as they frothed to and fro. He could see now. His path was clear. "You know what? **** you to Karz, Sidra. Take your stone. Save the world; see if that redeems you." Korruhn withdrew the stone fragment from his pocket, and threw it at Sidra's feet. "Now leave me to my task and go quarrel with someone else." OOC: @Eyru @Gecko Greavesy
  11. IC: Korruhn The anger seethed from Sidra’s voice; Korruhn thoroughly enjoyed it. She had sought to end his world, and succeeded. She sought the power of his people, and acquired it. And yet, she was still as helpless as she had always been. “It really is a shame that you had to burn so many bridges between us before coming to ask for my help; it most certainly colours my decisions. I see what you’re up to, Sidra. You seen atonement, you seek acceptance. You are the one who will gain the most from this, won’t you? The Matoran world destroyed, factions crumbled, cultures annihilated into an unidentifiable mess. You get a home, a world that has forgotten your crimes, and I’m sure are one of the most powerful beings on this plane. To me, that’s not a scenario I strive for. So, Sidra Nuva. If you truly have changed, then you will understand, and allow me to complete my task, and trust that I will get the stone to its rightful place. In the meantime, don’t you have more to find, anyway?” OOC: @Gecko Greavesy @Eyru
  12. IC: Korruhn ”I understand the urgency, Taja. I want to end this; and I also wish to record this so that our descendants don’t walk through this same blindness. My last task is short, and of utmost urgency if we are to understand why this happened, and has continued to do so.” Korruhn shot a glance at Sidra. The Dark Hunter that exacerbated this entire ending, stole from him, and surely worse, was calling him selfish. Rich. In these dire times, Sidra showed she had truly not changed a bit. “Us? US?! Ha! Since when are you one of us, Dark Hunter! You may be one of someone, Sidra, but you’re nothing I’m associated with, and nor will I leave you in charge of anything in regards to the future of the Matoran people.” OOC: @Gecko Greavesy @Eyru
  13. IC: Korruhn The Toa was stunned at the revelation. He couldn’t believe it. He had a million questions, but no time now. ”I had an encounter with a Titan, Axonn. We defeated him, but I ended up halfway across the island. Long story. In the meantime, I have a stop to make. Where is Leklo? We need to find him on the way back.” OOC: @Gecko Greavesy @Eyru
  14. IC: Korruhn, Kumu Peninsula ”Taja?” Korruhn was surprised, in a good way. “You’re alright?! Last I saw, Metru Koro was beset by the ships of the League. It’s been too long; what brings you out here? Who else yet lives?” OOC: @Eyru
  15. IC: Korruhn, Kumu Peninsula ”Plausible, I suppose. Would be hard to explain how he ended up here; it seemed like he had been with the Warskaks for quite a time before I arrived.” OOC: @Gecko Greavesy
  16. IC: Korruhn, Kumu Peninsula Korruhn couldn’t help himself. ”Well, I suppose it’s good you gave up assassination, then,” he replied, smirking ever so slightly. Whether it was Dume or not inconsequential. The world of Dume, the hierarchy and the order; all lost. His place in this world rest on Korruhn’s shoulder and in his mind. “I suppose it’s good I finished the job for you.” OOC: @Gecko Greavesy
  17. IC: Korruhn, Kumu Peninsula ”A Builder,” Korruhn replied, stopping and turning his shoulder back toward Sidra. “I picked up his trail in Fort Nektann. He lead me down here. He lived through the last cycle; he knew a plethora about both Metru Nui and this world. He was my key to figuring this out.” Korruhn shrugged, nodding to the limp corpse of the builder cradled over his shoulder. "Inconsequential now. He died saving my life; twice. I’m going to record what I can from his tattoos, and put him to rest.” OOC: @Gecko Greavesy
  18. IC: Korruhn, Kumu Peninsula The Nuva didn't appreciate his honesty, that much was apparent. But try as he might, he could not see this selfish, power-hungry thief before him as anything but that, regardless of whether she wore the disguise of a Nuva. The whole thing sickened Korruhn to his core, the fact that this dejected monster stole the glory of the Matoran people, in some feeble attempt to belong. Korruhn felt her misguided attempt to consolidate power for friendship would undo them all. She was dangerous. Whatever. If this was the savior his people would choose, they were not his people. They were no better than Sidra herself. None of them belonged. "I don't know where he's gone, he left the moment we exited the temple," Korruhn replied. He thought he recognized that name, Knichou, but couldn't place it. If they were working with Sidra though, Korruhn would have to ensure they don't get the Stones. "He has a place of respite somewhere in the ruins of Metru Nui. If he isn't at your Kini Nui, I'd look there." Korruhn turned and began to walk away from the Toa Nuva. "Oh, Sidra. I hear Leklo yet lives. Interesting. You don't happen to know where he's at?" OOC: @Gecko Greavesy
  19. IC: Korruhn, Kumu Peninsula "You-you met Mata Nui?" Try as he might to stifle it, he slipped up; his words hung in his mouth at the thought of this Toa meeting the Great Spirit himself, twice. Envy was a truly terrible pain to mask, among all the other horrible feelings he felt today. He felt the dead arm of Grime roll down his shoulder as he shifted positions. "Nuju is using you. He wants those Stones so he can get out of that mess he finds himself in," Korruhn paused, drawing a breath. "I'm going to be frank, with you, Sidra. I do not know you, and I do not like you. As far as I'm concerned, the power of the Nuva should be flowing through my veins. That was my shot to save my people. But, it seems like the universe finds away, doesn't it? Because today, it seems that our paths have converged once again. So, I have a proposal." Korruhn turned his body to the shoreline, looking off to the horizon. "I will get the Makoki Stones I know of. But I will be going alone. You have had your day, Sidra Nuva; and now it is mine. Go find Stannis, and I will meet you at the Kini-Nui. What do you say?" OOC: @Gecko Greavesy
  20. IC: Korruhn, Kumu Peninsula "And Nuju told you this, did he?" Korruhn's interest piqued. Only one of Nuju and Icarax were correct, and it was likely to presume that either one is feeding info to the other, or they're both receiving it from the same source. He recalled the taboos in Nuju's office. He knew of the Aspects, whether he acquired the Taboos through research or direct contact. What if Nuju was somehow working for them? Directing the hunt for the Makoki Stones to help Icarax and co. escape, with promise of his own safety should he follow through. Would explain why he ended up in the Far Shore. Or perhaps he was preventing them from getting their hands on them? Who knew. In the back of Korruhn's mind, the pained voice of the Abomination of Ko-Metru rang out. Nuju, no! He hadn't been able to shake it since that day. What exactly did Nuju do to that poor soul before he breathed his last? He needed to know. His arm, his sickness, the Far Shore. It all linked back to Nuju. "I'd take that outcome with a grain of salt. I heard of a vastly different function for this device; not nearly as much of a storybook ending," Korruhn said. He eyed up the Toa Nuva, and her massive ACR behind her. A fight would do him no good this day; and it seemed fate had aligned he and Sidra's goals in the meantime. He could feel his envy and rage every time he saw her Nuva upgrades glint in the sun. But if she could help get him the Stones... "Look. I don't trust Nuju as far as I can throw him, and I'm wearing a Pakari," he continued. "Did you ever ask him why he's in the Far Shore?" OOC: @Gecko Greavesy
  21. IC: Korruhn, Kumu Peninsula The Toa chuckled heartily at the name. "Nuju?! Of all people! You know, I had the opportunity to peruse his office once on Metru Nui; you should see the things he has! Not quite the man I expected him to be." Korruhn was eager to lay Grime to rest, but he was intrigued. What did Sidra want with these stones? If they're where they're supposed to be, why didn't Nuju tell Sidra? Unless he doesn't know. "I'm a cartographer, Sidra Nuva. If I don't know where they are, I will find out. "What do you intend do do with them?" OOC: @Gecko Greavesy
  22. IC: Korruhn, Kumu Peninsula Korruhn chuckled at the thought. Everyone seemed to be looking for Stannis; yet he always seemed to appear for Korruhn. His sudden absence was now a bit more entertaining. "Stannis does as he wills; I couldn't tell you where he is," Korruhn replied. "You'd think a Nuva would have no troubles tracking an Aspect, but alas!" The Toa pondered a moment. As far as he was concerned, Sidra was an agent of chaos, an anomaly unaffiliated with Korruhn's kind, and yet now walking the path. She had the Nuva, now what did she want with the stones? Korruhn would play along, but he wasn't feeding Sidra another handoff. This task was his alone. "He did run off with one, yes. Said he knows where to find more. What's it to you? Who sent you here?" OOC: @Gecko Greavesy
  23. IC: Korruhn, Kumu Peninsula Korruhn's head slowly turned from the bug-man flying off into the sunset, to the newcomer. He sensed her presence a moment ago, staring into his soul from afar. But he could not place who it was, at least until the ACR followed his head and turned to face her: Sidra. The Toa looked less than worse-for-wear, at least physically. She carried herself in a different manner; there was a different tone to her voice. And then the brief glimmer of sun through the clouds cast it's ray across Sidra's armor. Korruhn's eyes, now fading to grey from the intense ice-blue they used to be, widened. The golden gleam. Nuva. The Void-Touched vented air through his nostrils, pitching black shadow smoke from them. Hide it as he might, Korruhn felt the envy boil up his chest like water in a hot kettle. Here he stood, cloaked in darkness, wrapped in Taboo, and surrounded by denizens of the dark, while this... thing before him claimed the glory that all those who had gathered in Dume's office had hoped to achieve. It was the final, cruel joke from this wasteland world. "I had heard a rumour that you'd gone back to the temple," Korruhn said to the Toa Nuva. He still didn't trust her. "Now I see it to be true. Sadly, I've already emptied this one behind me." Korruhn paced in his armour, side to side, not getting any closer to the Toa Nuva. He didn't trust her. But, if she had Nuva already, why was she here? The Toa adjusted the corpse of Grime on his shoulder. He turned back to Sidra again. "Now, why are you here? I'm trying to bury my friend in peace." OOC: @Gecko Greavesy
  24. Name of ACR: The Triumph ACR’s Faction/Homebase: Uhuraz (originally), unaffiliated Pilot of ACR: Korruhn Type of heartlight: Toa Physical Description: The armor is ornate and kingly in appearance, all blood reds and black with some few shiny gold components, with a general design of an archaic era, appearing almost foreign at first glance. The helmet is particularly well crafted with two golden horns and a similarly bright upturned visor. It seemed to be in very good condition despite its clear disuse, likely as a result of The Armourer’s tending to it. Onboard Weapons Systems Options (pick two): 1x Odachi, stylized and sized for the ACR. Although sturdy and very sharp, this is designed solely as an attacking weapon and will not withstand repeated blocking. 1x Energy Extraction Rifle. Used to extract elemental energy from opponents, and unleash it upon them in the form of charged shots. Cannon cannot fire without extracted elemental energy, and must be dispersed within a certain time to prevent overheating.
  25. IC: Korruhn, Uhuraz' Plane The questions and information swirled in Korruhn's brain like a maelstrom, a torrent of knowledge flowing until it found it's port, the data with which it fit. Korruhn found the connection to Irnakk and the Builders most curious. When he had first encountered Grime and Miserix, the two were with the Warskaks, and the Cartographer hadn't been able to discern why. But with Barius' connection to Irnakk, it all made sense. As to the nature of the relationship between Irnakk and the Builders? He had no answer. "An armourer, you say?" Korruhn inquired. "This is quite the armoury. Who was this facility intended to arm, and for what purpose?" OOC: @EmperorWhenua @Unreliable Narrator @Gecko Greavesy
