  1. For some reason, I like to take the feet from sets, and connect them sole to sole. Anyways, when I was doing it with Pridak's feet, I noticed something. I looks so much like a white version of the Shadow Crystal from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Here's a Pic for comparison. It's easier to tell with better pictures. Also, If you look at the front part of his foot, there is a pattern that looks like a TLoZ-ish eye. And it's interesting, because in WW, hyrule was under the ocean, like Mahri Nui. And suddenly, Link appeared and smites the Barraki! Or not. I just thought it was the most Zelda-esque piece/pieces I've seen in bionicle. And speaking of Zelda, they didn't have any of the eye switches in TP. I liked those, but considering I didn't notice for two months, it's clearly no big deal
  2. Well, yesterday I got my last two Barraki, Pridak and Takadox. I stand by my first impression from the pictures, Pridak is pretty ugly. If they had Dark grey and Light grey instead of black and white, I would like him more, and I don't like the red on his face, but the red on his weapons looks nice. I love the waist articulation, You can put him into sweet poses, and I love the blade on the back that makes it look like he has a dorsal fin. It's strange, the red on the weapons is flexible. He has a bunch of great MOCing parts and a really great build; the designers really nailed a shark-like appearance. Takadox is pretty cool, my only main problem with him is head head looks just a bit too gobliny. I love his "mantis blades" (as I like to call them) and the spikes all over his body. I'm a sucker for spikey stuff. His poses are best hunched over, whenever I try to get him to be in a pose standing up, I start adjusting it to make it better, and end up adjusting him into a crouched position. Well, these are my only two intact barraki, the others have been disassembled for MOCs. The barraki are too sweet for their own good. They just beg to be ripped apart and put in a moc.
  3. Today, my dad, my sister and I drove up to Canada to the Ontario science centre. I love going there, even if I don't really learn that much while I'm there, since I've gone fairly often, but it's fun, and I love the omnimax theater. However, I did learn: Even at an eighth of normal speed, some bat cries are very fast, any impossible to hear at higher speeds. At 32 times slower, The sounds don't even sound like they could come from an animal. In Canada, they are not called reeses peanut butter cups, they are reese peanut butter cups. Small children (on field trips) in large groups can be really irritating. Oh well, not that much, but it is fun. Also, In the gift shop, they have lego, so when I went in I immediately looked for the barraki, and they were there. I didn't buy them, I just wanted to see if they were there.

    Wowii

Wow... this entry is from my wii... Incredible... the free opera download. Technology is amazing. I don't seem to be able to watch the barraki video though.
  5. Only a couple more weeks till lunar knights comes out! I am so excited. Boktai was my favorite GBA game ever, hands down, no questions asked. I must have played through at least ten times. Lunar knights should be so sweet. I also got Nintendo power today, which has an ad for LK. Beautiful picture. I wish I had boktai now, but I lent it to my friend, and we don't know where it is now. sometimes when I was at his house, I would play it, so I don't even know if it is at his house, or if I accidentally took it. Oh well. I would be more than happy to play through again. I don't mind going through everything again... not much at least. Well, I think It's pretty sweet that Nero is a spirit thing now, but it stinks that Otenko is now "Toasty." Oh well, what can one do?
  6. On Monday, January 8th, I had a math test. 8 problems, I finished 5.5 of them before the period ended. Everyone I asked said they didn't finish, or finished but probably did a bad job. It's not that We're stupid either, we're in honors (smart people) math. It's just that it was really hard. Anyways, we knew that our math class would be in the computer lab for a week, starting on the day after the tst, so we figured our teacher wouldn't give us another day to work on it. But, on Wednesday of last week (or would it be this week?), she gave us more time! I ended up getting a 105/106, about a 99%. And, If I get a slip with our grade on it signed by my parents, then bring it in on Monday, I get an extra two points! Thats over 100%! I am very happy. Also, next week is regents week, so I only have to come in to school on Monday, and I have the rest of the week off. I do not have any tests during that period, so I don't have to come in! And I took my Global and Chemistry midterms, which were easy, and I get to take my math midterm home and work on it during my week off! Last week was a great week, and I bet next week will be too.
  7. I'm sick of all those "inspired by a true story" movies. I seriously doubt that half of them have a legitimate basis in truth. Someday I think I'll write a fantasy movie and say "inspired by a true story." What's the true story? That I was sick of movies that say "IBATS," when they probably aren't.
  8. Topic 1) Okay, why can't I see the 2007 sets topic? It gives me one of those text only error messages. I know I should be able to see it, because I logged out, and when I clicked the link, it let me in. Why won't it let me see? Oh, nice, now Maj won't let me upload pictures to show you what error message I get. Topic 2) I attempted to build a toa of life, didn't work out. I made a good DNA shaped weapon out of Kalmah's tentacles, made a cool shoulder pad from the head of Mantax, with a bunch of spikes, a few wings, and it all went downhill from there. I scrapped it today. Oh well. What will be will be.

  10. Wow... I just got (and finished) City of the Lost. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «It is by far the most violent bionicle book yet, but also the most realistic. No more miraculous saving of the innocent little matoran against all odds. Of course, I feel sorry for them, but the lack of unrealistic situations is nice. I thought all of the Barraki's personalities were all very well defined. The matoran society also seemed nice, and not all peaceful and innocent. 2007 seems like it's gonna be very interesting.

    More Info

A bit more info on the elements: Plant/Ground/"Nature": Though much more conspicuous than the other elements, The Plant and ground element can be the strongest. Can be very powerful offensively, and a very strong defensive magic. Also, plant magic can be very good for healing. With extreme skill, one can even control various aspects of nature, such as a whole forest, a volcano, an earthquake Fire/Temperature/Energy: One of the more subtle elements, since it can be summoned quickly, any does not need anything to start. An extremely powerful element, but can only be used offensively. Extreme skill can lead to the ability to control temperature, and many other forms of energy. Water/Ice/Weather: The most versatile element, it can be easily used in a variety of ways. In its liquid form, it can be used offensively, defensively by slowing attacks down with strong friction, and can be used to heal injuries and wounds. In its solid form, it can be used offensively in a variety of ways, and defensively by forming a solid barrier. It is extremely easy to access, because water is everywhere. With extreme skill, it is possible to control oceans and create storms. Lightning/Air/Weather: Lightning is very unpredictable, it can be used offensively, and without warning. The results on the body can be unpredictable, but are often serious. It is a very dangerous and difficult element to master. Air and sky are also difficult to control, but not as dangerous. While not directly offensive, it can knock an opponent off balance, which gives time for more powerful offensive magic. Air can be an effective barrier, but only against projectiles. With extreme skill, weather can be controlled. And now... Something I might regret... Religion of Valkren Please note, these do not reflect my personal religious views. I do not believe this, nor should you. If you think you might take offense at religious ideas, DO NOT read the following section. This is purely fiction, do not overreact to it. with that said: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «There is no name for the religion of Valkren, because it is part of their daily life. This is because they do not think their ideas are correct, they know they are correct. There is no word for religion in their world, because there are no other beliefs, because the "religion" is fact. There is a (monotheistic) godlike deity (known as the teacher), and one devil-like deity (known as the harvester). When one dies (good or evil), they go to an afterlife known as the Eternal Sanctuary. While not much is known about the two gods, they are known to exist, and a fairly common sight. The Teacher often comes to Valkren, to bring the spirits of those who are suffering beyond "repair" (good "people") to the Eternal Santuary. The Harvester often comes to Valkren to take the spirits of those who are evil out of control, or suffering beyond "repair," and evil, to the Eternal Sanctuary. They are not all powerful beings, and are not Omnipotent. They are not all-knowing, but can find out information very easily. The gods are silent when on Valkren, so not much is known. It is unknown whether the Harvester is Evil, neutral, or even good. This is the side of religion that the general population knows. Later, I will add even more truth and detail. Even later, I will reveal everything there is to know about their "religion."
  12. Yay, for the first day of this winter, it finally snowed! There was snow on the ground when I woke up, and it was snowing heavily during the day. Exciting, right? Potential snow day right? Wrong. By noon, it had stopped snowing, and the snow is already melting. The weather (as I've said) is soooooo messed up this/last year. And also fairly weather related, Lunar Knights is coming out in 4 weeks! Yay!!! Boktai was my favorite GBA game EVER, And LK should be amazing.
  13. Why didn't I have a bionicle category before? Anyways, yesterday, I got Kalmah And Mantax, and they are awesome. I love Kalmah's feet, and I love the tentacles; in his hand and on his head. I love how Mantax and Kalmah both have flexible head parts. I was pleasantly surprised to see Carapar's armor was Mantax's shoulder pads. Anyone who has doubts about the barraki, erase them. They are the best canister sets ever (disregarding the lack of functionality except launchers). Also, from Carapar, Keetongu, Reidak, Nuparu, and a bunch of spare parts, I build a Black, yellow, and silver dragon thing. I made the head first, and built around, but the head was too small, and incorrectly colored, So I ended up changing the thing that started the MOC I'll probably post pics soon.
  14. Yeah, the weather in my area continues to be messed up. Snowstorm in october, no snow throughout half of november and ALL of december, and so far none into january. And I live in buffalo, where weather is always horrible. Yesterday, at the beginning of january, before sunrise (the coldest time of day), it was 50 degrees (farenheight(sp?)). Ridiculously high for Buffalo in January. We are so gonna pay for this. Soon, we're probably gonna have another snowstorm. On a positive note, thursday, when I was going out to get the mail, I saw Orion very clearly for the first time in... a long time. It made me happy.
  15. Here's the belated christmas* present I told you about: A quick sketch of Valkren and the Haldi Species A bunch of species symbols, symbols for different individuals, and a couple drawn by the person who sits next to me in biology Various weapon sketches Some quick, bad animal sketches Different elements, top to bottom left column: Moon, Fire, Plant; top to bottom right column: Sun, Water, Lightning/Sky Disregard the (strange looking) arrows for now, it is just to show which is superior over which. And I guess that's all for now. *Christmas does not exist on Valkren; it is a present from me, on earth
  16. Well, for christmas, I got Elebits and Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz. Elebits: Visual:8/10: Very simple graphics, but they work for the game. The Elebits are really cute. Ease of play:9/10: I would have to say that it is pretty easy to control, but turning can occasionally be annoying. Gameplay:9.5/10: There are a lot of puzzles, that can take seconds or minutes, ranging from pulling a lever to setting up a giant chess board so the pieces are in the right place. The limit on health is good, IMO, but the noise or object breaking limits on some levelscan be annoying. Fortunately, all the limits (health, object breaking, noise, and of curse time) go away if you unlock eternal mode for a level. Boss stages are fun. Storyline:4/10: Ugh. Lame story in the form of cutscenes every few levels. Only redeeming thing is the pretty pictures. World:8/10: Large (depending on the level), a lot to explore, set up nicely, can force you to think. Music good, not great. Areas fairly isolated from each other Extras:10/10 Oooooooooooooh man, there is SO much extra to do. Get hidden elements, rare items, pink elebits, high scores, score attack mode (for every level), challenge mode (which is VERY challenging, also for every level), and eternal mode (also, for every level). Plus it's fun to just go through again. And you can't forget the level editor. Hard and long to make your own levels, but probable worth it. Other comments: The elebits are adorable, the levels are fun, I love the wide range of elebits, and it truly is basically a fusion of Katamari Damacy and Pikmin. Average score:8.0 Real Score(the storyline kinda skewed the ratings):9.0 SMBBB: Visual:9/10: Nice cute graphics, and nice detail on the landscapes surrounding the level. Kinda like the Graphics from the first two better Ease of play:7/10: Pretty intuative, but traversing narrow paths can be difficult. A little harder to control some things than in the first two. Gameplay:8/10: Fun, but beneath the cute graphics, the gameplay can get quite vicious pretty early. Jumping and bosses are a welcome addition. 50 mingames, I'm sure there's something for everyone. Storyline:N/A: The closest there is to a storyline is golden bananas getting stolen, then getting one from each boss. Doesn't count. World:8/10: The level design mostly fits the world. Very creative levels, as usual. No underwater world, which was very disappointing to me. Extras:9.5/10: So many minigames, I can barely count it as extras. Only complaint is the racetracks. I liked some of the ones from the first two games better. Other comments: Like many things about it, but like the first two games a little better, but the min/part games in the first two aren't even comparable to the ones in here. Average score:8.3 Will have a (belated) christmas present up for you tomorrow. Hopefully.
  17. In English we were watching Clash of the Titans, a movie about Perseus, that was made in the 70s or 80s. For some reason, there's a Kraken in it, but there isn't a kraken in Greek mythology. It wasn't even a squid or octopus, it was a cross between Godzilla and a shark. Anyways, on thursday, during social studies, We were just taking this online quiz on christmas in other countries (our teacher had a projector pointing at the front of the room, and we just shouted out answers). Anyways, one of my Friends from my English class was talking to me, and he said "Oh my god, theres a kraken behind you!" There's a chalkboard behind me, so I took a piece of chalk and drew a Kraken on the board (a squid, not a godzilla shark), and had an arrow pointing to it that said OMG Kraken!? I also had him holding a/the master sword from TLoZ. Then, the next day, I drew the same thing in english class. OMG Kraken!? is officially my new saying.

    Barraki

Got Carapar and Ehlek from S@H today. They're pretty awesome. Carapar is taller than he looks in a lot of pictures. Ehlek is pretty sweet too. I love the white or light green infused into the transparent green, and the spines are amazing. The squid ammo is pretty cool looking, Although it does not function well as it is supposed to. However, if you point the launcher slightly upwards, and pull it back towards you, it shoots much better. Also, it's the coolest looking collectible launcher yet, so whatever. If you look carefully at them, you can see that the bumps on the side of the head are eyes. They also hold it into the launcher better. Animal fur is very adhesive to the squids, so beware. Also, in case you get some crazy idea that the squids launch better in water, they don't. I tried. They don't even launch.
  19. I'm so weird In social studies today, I used a pen to carve a master sword out of cardboard from a binder. took almost the whole period. Pic Pretty good for being carved out of cardboard with a pen in 40 minutes without anything to look at, wouldn't you say? Also, I bought the Collector's edition 1/6th scale replica of the Master Sword and Hylian Shield (this). Yeah, I know, I'm a Nerd.

    Eragon

I saw eragon yesterday. IMO, It was bad. Countless major differences from the book, and it seemed poorly made. I imagine people who didn't read the book might like it, But I just thought it was bad, and don't think anyone who read the book would like it.
  21. Pieces? What do you mean? Anyways, bionicle may have had a hand in the creation, but in bionicle, anything mechanical and living also has organic parts, and I thought everything organic had mechanical parts (until recently). This is more of four types of life, and different combinations of 1, 2, 3, or all 4 types into each organism. But the inspiration from bionicle stops at organic and mechanical together, if it was ever inspired by bionicle. Everything else was completely my own.

    Camera

Well, I added a new category, electronic, which will deal with video game stuff, and other electronic stuff. Anyways, I recently got a free digital camera. Guess how good the pictures are. Go on, guess. Okay, i'll tell you. They are 100 kilopixels. 0.1 megapixels. It can take 18 pictures. AKA, It's bad. At least it was free.
  23. I am changing my name back to Enfero Lunos soon, in case anyone cares. And yes, you will eventually find out why this is in this category...
