    Asterisk Holder: Holly White

    Origin: Final Fantasy

Was It In Bravely Default?: Yes

Overview: The oldest, most sacred, and most essential of all Jobs, the White Mage bears the responsibility of keeping the party alive. They possess a wide range of healing and usually buff magic, and will occasionally learn a handful of damaging spells, including the Aero series. However, White Mages are not an offensive class, and often enough their healing duties will require their full attention anyway.

Personal Thoughts: You need a White Mage. You cannot go into a game and not have a White Mage and expect to survive. Healing is essential, folks, and the White Mage is the best at it. We were pretty sure this was coming back, but it’s nice to have a look at Magnolia’s costume. I like that Bravely Default gives White Mages plenty of support abilities to increase their survivability, because if your White Mage goes down, your entire party is pretty much doomed. It also helps to have them store up some extra BP when possible, because sometimes even Curaga might need to be cast more than once in a turn. There are plenty of ways to make great use of your White Mage, but one thing is for sure: you need to have at least one on your team.

    Asterisk Holder: Ayame

Origin: Bravely Second (Many Final Fantasy games have had upgraded Mage classes with Wizard in their names—White Wizard, Red Wizard, etc—but the Wizard Asterisk seems to use unique abilities that set it apart as a new creation.)

Was It In Bravely Default?: No

Overview: Wizards use magic in two stages: select an element (Fire, Blizzard, Thunder), and then select a method of attack. Confirmed so far are Darts, Hammer, Blast, and Mist (causes steady damage over time like poison). This should provide a wide variety of attacks that can take advantage of foes’ weaknesses.

Personal Thoughts: Well, it sure sounds powerful! Everyone seems to be focusing mainly on the Elemental Mists, and I can see why: encounter a hoard of ice monsters, unleash a Fire Mist to burn them all over time. It sounds like Black Mage is going to have some serious competition as offensive magic Job. Wizard is playable in the demo currently out in Japan, so hopefully I'll be able to find more detailed data to update this soon.

For some reason I got hooked on the idea of a Kingdom Hearts AU where everyone is a Gem and like

-Everyone already has a weapon they can summon out of nowhere so that’s done

-Heartless are Gems that have been corrupted, and the Keyblade is the only thing that can restore them to their former self

-Nobodies are the projected bodies of Gems that have been left behind when their gemstone is stolen/corrupted

    -Lion as a Dream Eater

    -Drive Forms being Gem Fusions

-Xehanort fusing with Terra and taking full control like Malachite

-Xehanort being able to manipulate gemstones without fatally damaging them, enabling him to take fragments of his gemstone and put them into other Gems to take control of them, and split Ventus’s gemstone in two to create Vanitas

-Implications that a shard of Master Eraqus’s gemstone has been absorbed into Terra’s gemstone

-Gummi Ship battle against Master Hand ship

-Land of Departure/Castle Oblivion being a Gem Temple one can reformat with the Master's Defender

-I don’t know it just struck me as a really cool thing

This entry is about two things. First, a new miniseries of short webisodes of Steins;Gate has begun out of the blue. This is good news. What makes it absolutely hilarious is that it's sponsored by IBM. The 3-minute episode out now is a brief cooking adventure with a mecha Upa with adaptive AI, so there's no way this is canon, but I learned that if our robot overlords are all going to be Upas then I might be okay with it. That was not something I had considered before.

(No the episode does not involve the Upa becoming a robot overlord I just have a fear of the robot apocalypse, the episode itself is hugely lighthearted (especially for all the What Could Go Wrong Potential in Steins;Gate) and just serves to remind us why we love these dorks...and to be a commercial for IBM, but, you know.)

Second, the new episode of Korra, because my gosh

So yeah Book 4 is looking good so far.

Hello everyone! I am pleased to report that my sister and I have moved into our new apartment and the internet is already up and running, so I’ll be resuming normal activities for a bit before our upcoming vacation. (But more on that later.)

I was at work all day, so I didn’t get to move like…anything, and I feel sort of bad about that. But my sister, my dad, one of our friends, and someone my dad knows got almost everything over here, and we’ll finish up tomorrow and I’ll hopefully be more useful then. I don’t have to work again until Monday, so that should make it a little easier to settle in.

My sister is still over at our dad’s house so I’m spending the night alone. I’m a little nervous, but I’ll deal with that as it comes. I’m actually pretty tired so hopefully I’ll crash at a reasonable time and my brain won’t have time to mess me up.

So yeah, that’s pretty much it. New apartment get!

Out most of tomorrow and Saturday. Don't worry about Technic Coliseum--Wraith offered to run the ring and water the plants and whatnot. I'll recruit new fighters when I get back.

Earlier this week I posted a short story called Abyssal Obsession. How do I explain this...well, a while back on a website that I don't think I'm allowed to mention on BZPower, the whole "romance isn't canon" topic came up, and one of the points mentioned was Vhisola's obsession with Nokama. Since my brain is now full of Japanese stuff, I immediately thought "Oh, she was yandere and I never realized it." So take a guess as to what the story's about.

I did enter the new FFFC with Risky Acquisition. For some reason I had some difficulty with the fish theme...anyway, Hahli Mahri studies a fish to get a new Faxon power.

May as well mention this too: a while back I started up a comedy, but my history with this genre has been, well...not so good. So I kept it quiet. I think it's picking up steam, though, so I've decided to officially mention The Bionicle RPG You Never Wanted. Working on it on-and-off, like every other story of mine.

    See ya on Sunday.

My first class was cancelled, which would be good if it weren't Japanese.

When I entered my second (though technically first?) class, someone came up and hugged me as I was entering the doorway, which honestly is a nice enough way to start a semester.

Then I went to the nearby shopping center to kill three hours until my next class, which was almost three hours long itself.

It's an interesting start 7/10 will be optimistic.

Kingdom Hearts Unchained X continues. One of the recent additions was a school uniform (on a Raid Board), not exactly a costume I was looking forward to but there was a Cid on the other side so, eh, I’ll pick it up.

…I actually kind of like the way it looks.

But on a less tsundere note, I’ve actually leveled up quite a bit recently, because this month’s Weekend Raid Boss If There Isn’t Another Event Raid Boss is

    THE GUMMI HOUND

I saw this on the Wiki a while back and just think it looks so cool. It’s a giant dog mecha piloted by numerous Heartless, with cannons that shoot other Heartless and, as I just discovered, ROCKET POWERED FISTS. Also it’s purple. Like, what’s not to love? Not only is fighting it easier than that 30 million HP Fortress Crab (the Hound starts at only 3 million), it also gives out way more Lux, not to mention I finally figured out when Bonus Hours are in my timezone and they just added the once a day Lux Up button. There won’t be one this weekend since the Trident Tail with the school uniform Raid Board is still going on, but man, I’m looking forward to fighting more of these.

Also I’m so close to being able to equip a full set of 6 Star Medals, maybe then I can start getting more Adamantite and power up my relatively weak Keyblades. Divine Rose is awesome though, like it’s only at +18 and it already has a much higher strength than any other Keyblade I have. And it looks lovely.

I made some solid progress on another project, so I finally sat down and edited Right of Law Section III!

This chapter is entirely made up of Krika trying to defend Nynrah from the army sent after Zaekura. Admittedly I don't have as much experience writing this sort of battle, but I think the result turned out well, and I'll of course strive to improve in either event. Makuta and Rahkshi give you so many options to play around with, though I do have to keep reminding myself that I can't use Shattering or Disintegration. No slip-ups in this part, at least!

Next Section will introduce a new Makuta with a very unique skill. I hope to have it for you soon!

I just posted the first chapter of Beyond Ruin over in OTC! Again, I’m not sure this part does anything particularly new or special, so I’ll just summarize the basics of the idea here.

Beyond Ruin is intended to be a set of short pieces fleshing out the characters and world of my work-in-progress story Divine Strength. It takes place at a point in time where the Queens, who have been constantly at war for the three hundred years since their creation, have just defeated monsters known as the Ruinous and declared a truce. This peace will (for the most part) last for thousands of years, at least up until the timeframe I want to set the main story in. Since this is a huge turning point for the Queens, I think this is a good time to explore their characters, as what they do now will come to define them for well into their future. The review topic also has a short FAQ that hopefully clears things up for newcomers, though if it proves ineffective I’d love suggestions to make it more user-friendly!

Updates will be sporadic, but the second one should be up fairly soon—it’s done for the most part, I just want to edit it a bit. I hope you enjoy the story!

...Or sometimes "Les Quatre Freres des Lames," or sometimes with accent marks, or both...

Les Quatre Freres de Lame were the first important group of sentient Spirits shown in the Bioni-Lords story--Obscura, BionicleKeyblade, Language, and Zodiakai. When each one seeks out a human ally and come into contact with each other, a great disaster is on the horizon, and more often than not they make the difference between victory and defeat but don't live through it. And the truth is...they're just something I made up as I went along.

If you've read the lecture on the Origins of Bioni-Lords, you're familiar with Obscura's origins. Since he was the first Orb/Spirit/Bionimon/etc made by someone other than me, I thought he deserved an appearance in the story, so when I was coming up with Nikari I decided to give him Obscura. Ironically, due to Nikari's nature and sacrifice, that Obscura's voice was never heard and Obscura has had the least presence of any of Les Quatre Freres de Lame, to the point where he's the only one without a Super Spirit form. With another Gathering taking place in Book 3, I hope to give Obscura a bit more spotlight, which I feel he deserves. And yes, there will be a Super Spirit form eventually, but even that involves another Spirit as well...

BionicleKeyblade started as a MoC I made in my intial Kingdom Hearts craze and was converted into a Spirit when, after a Spirit Design contest (in the days where there had to be a contest for designs to be sent in), I decided to put in all 3 entries but wanted to keep the final number of Spirits even. It was the first Spirit I had made that wasn't based on a Bionicle, so I wanted to feature it, and BionicleKeyblade was thrown into the story and somehow ended up becoming Khadaz's signature Orb. I was a bit unsure about giving him a name--I thought it might be inconsistent if, right near the end of the Book, we change "BionicleKeyblade" to "Vinxeng" (which was originally meant to be a Makuta name). I decided to go ahead and give him a name, and then I decided to give names to each of the individual Freres. I can't completely remember where I got the idea to make Twilight Sage, but it may have just been an attempt to make battles more over-the-top. Or it could have something to do with a feeling that robes were somehow more appropriate for Khadaz's older self as opposed to BionicleKeyblade's hastily thrown together armor...*shrug*. The abilities of Twilight Sage were intended to be an advanced state of Elemental Powers, but now I realize it's a bit too Mage-like for Khadaz's Warrior style...if only Neya had sent me the Dread Paladin idea sooner!

When I started introducing Spirits based on Anime characters, I got the idea to turn to Pokemon, Unown specifically. Unown is a Pokemon I've always been interested in since they form their own alphabet (which, I will admit, I went to the trouble of learning and using), but they ARE among the weakest of Pokemon...they can only learn one move. Just one. I wanted them to have a presence in Bioni-Lords, but because I wanted them to be more buffed up the result is pretty much unrecognizable--a Toa-sized warrior with a sword who wears Krana. I decided to call it "Language" since it had forms based on the alphabet, and each one has an alphabetical attack because I wanted to expand that feature--Unown had little if any difference between forms aside from their shape. Language was a last-minute addition to the Freres, and I think the only reason he became a candidate was because I gave one to Norscu in my late desire to feature the Spirit. Language also has had fairly little spotlight, with Language X appearing once in Book 1 and Language Supreme not appearing until very late in Book 2, but he'll be rather important in the Gathering that takes place in Book 3. As for Kotoba, I'm not really sure what made be decide to make his ally female...maybe an attempt to balance the gender ratio and earn at least one female reader. This is a bit of a spoiler, but Zenrei and Kotoba display a technique in an upcoming chapter that's based on the crystal effect the Unown produce in the third Pokemon movie--you'll know it when you see it, but if you'd read it without knowing what it's based on it might've seemed kind of random.

A lot of my friends are into Anime as well, and they have introduced me to some new series. One of which is "Fruits Basket"...which I'm almost embarrassed to admit since it is in fact a shojo manga (aimed toward girls). Don't judge me. I enjoyed the characters and the magic component. That magic component involves the Chinese Zodiac, and since I tend to obsess over a series once I start reading/watching/playing it, I became very interested in the Chinese Zodiac, to the point where I developed a set of techniques based on the animal signs involved. I also inlcuded the Cat, which is not a part of the Chinese Zodiac, but, as I learned from reading Fruits Basket, there are legends to explain why the cat isn't a part of the Zodiac. I needed to do something with these techniques, and since Bioni-Lords is always on my mind I decided to give them to a Spirit. Zodiakai's name is an obvious corruption of "Zodiac", his armor colors (black and gold) just seemed a good fit (maybe because they're the color of space and stars?), the Kanohi Arthron is one of the most epic-looking masks ever (in my opnion), the cape was added to give him more epicness, and Jaller Mahri's sword...*shrug*. I also gave him the Rasengan, which is a technique from Naruto that I wanted to try and make a fairly standard Rahaga-type attack, but the bulk of his moveset is comprised of Zodiac Style attacks, and I decided it would (somehow) make sense for him to be a "Toa of the Chinese Zodiac". Since I had already established the habit of giving Toatoa only Toa Spirits and was giving new Spirits to the main characters again, I decided to give Zodiakai a chance to be featured, and since he came in right when I was considering Les Quatre Freres de Lame he got the job. I still feel it was a little...awkward to just suddenly give him a voice and name (but no spotlight) right at the end of Book 1, but it's not something I can easily change. The Ju-San Seishin were thought up because I was a little obsessed with the idea of Super Spirits after designing Twilight Sage, and Sohma Xotaku was thought up when I realized I prefer writing one-on-one duels. "Sohma" is the name of the family in Fruits Basket under the Zodiac curse, and his technique "Yume no Enkai" (Banquet of Dreams) is a reference to the legend that the Zodiac animals were all called to a banquet, and the order in which they arrived is the order in which they appear in the Zodiac.

With Khadaz using BionicleKeyblade, Nikari and his Obscura fresh in our memory, Toatoa getting Zodiakai, and Language X showing up in Norscu's roster, I realized that I had four Rahaga-type, sword-wielding Orbs in close proximity to each other, and I decided to capitalize on that by giving them some sort of great importance. Thus, "Les Quatre Freres de Lame" was created. Why is the name in French, you ask? Because I was coming up with this during my first year of French class.

If there are any further questions about Les Quatre Freres de Lame, or requests for future Bioni-Lords Lecture topics, please leave a comment!

No, I'm not going to give the history behind every name used in Bioni-Lords. Some of them were submitted by other people, so I don't know where they came from. But I thought I may as well publish the name origins I remember.

Khadaz: It's "Zadakh" backwards, but with the K and H flipped
Amy: I asked people to submit some ideas for female names, and this was the one that I thought seemed best
Kharuun: "Nuurahk" backwards, but with the K and H flipped
Hyohana: I looked up "ice" (hyo) and "flower" (hana) in Japanese, and then combined them
Azara: She, and the other members of the Devil Squad, are all named after flowers. The characters they're based on have the same naming theme, although the names are a bit different.
Zenrei Zokuhen: "zenrei"-precedent, "zokuhen"-sequel; both in Japanese. I think I liked the contrast...
    Vakahu: Vakama and Tahu
    Lhikahu: Lhikan and Tahu
Onatewka: A mix of Onewa and Hewkii
    Hewtu: Hewkii and Pohatu
Onupara: A mix of Onua and Nuparu
    Nupenua: Nuparu and Whenua
    Kopuju: Kopaka and Nuju
Mataka: I think it's a corruption of Matatu, Nuju's Kanohi
Leanga: I think it's a mix of Lewa and Kongu
    Phantau: Phantoka and Matau
Cindy, Jerry, and Kate: Random names picked to continue the theme of using real-world names for Amy's family
    Nokali: Nokama and Gali
    Avanada: Av and Amanda
    Takon: A corruption of Takua/Takanuva
    Solenma: Solek and Tanma
Norscu: A corruption of Norse (no clue why I picked that...)
Rien: French for "nothing". I thought it sounded like a good character name...now I realize how cruel it is...
    Artakhall: A corruption of Artakha
Tonnira: A corruption of "tonnerre"-thunder (in French)
Zempyst: A mix of Zephyr and tempest
Aile: French for "wing," a play on a dragon's wing
Daxam: A pseudonym used by a friend of mine
    Nikari: I'm...really not sure...
Gaizenji: Originally created for a mutant Suukorak who was a master of illusions. It's a corruption of Aizen, the name of a villain in Bleach who uses illusions.
Verasu: "verre" (French) and "garasu" (Japanese), both of which mean glass. Although, I believe verre means glass as in a cup, and garasu is just "glass" with a Japanese accent...
Nigala: I think it's a corruption of "Nile"
Yume: Japanese for "dream"; I believe she has stated this in the story
Stained Glass: Sadly, it doesn't look like stained glass. I picked it because stained glass has multiple colors, and Stained Glass is made up of Orbs of all types, including all Elements, which each have representative colors. And...it sounded cool.
Kytan (whoever he is lol): Not sure...it makes me think "katana," but I may have just pulled it out of thin air
Genakex: A pseudonym I use at times
Xyla: No, not based on "xylophone"--she gets really mad if you call her that. I think I just wanted a name including X and pulled it out of thin air.
Black Tide: All their names are corruptions of the names of the Barraki they use, except Nocturn--I named him "Red" as a pun on the "Red Nocturne" enemy from Kingdom Hearts

Sorry it's been so long since the last chapter of Sekai, but I got distracted by a video game. As usual. I put up a new chapter today, though, showing lots of Forbidden Techniques and Rien vs. Kikanalo, where Rien explains why Spirit Weapon is so powerful. Hopefully I'll be able to get the next chapter up sooner; I'm not finished with the game I'm playing, but I'm almost done.

As far as writing goes, I finished the Mutant-Isle arc (which took about half of a 70-sheet notebook) and moved on to Lost Continent 9. Chapter 91 shows some of Khadaz's new skills, and Chapter 92 focuses on events at the Dark Knights' castle. 93 should finish that scenario, and then 94 can have some talking that transitions to the next scenario which will begin either 94/95...not sure how long it'll take, though.

Chapter 100 is fast approaching, but I'm not sure if anything special will be done for it. To tell you the truth, in Book 1 I wasn't really expecting to do anything special, but after Chapter 96 I figured I may as well stall for a few chapters and make 100 the Khadaz vs. Union fight. When I get closer to Sekai 100 I'll decide if I can put anything special in it, and I just might be able to due to the point in the timeline...we'll see.

I've also been giving some thought to when I'll be willing to reveal things about Book 3, and I decided that I'll at least give out one or two bits of information in 2011 or when Draco-Isle is finished...whichever comes first. Book 3 should start about, oh...mid-2011 if I can keep up with my deadlines, and though I have no idea how long it'll take I'm hoping to keep it a bit shorter than Books 1 and 2. Please don't send any ideas related to Book 3, because it's probably not what you're expecting it to be...but please send in Spirit Weapon designs if you have a character, because we need those. Desparately.

Hm, I think that should about cover it...I may as well say that I'm working on a new story independant of Bioni-Lords, but I want to get it mostly if not entirely done before I start posting. When it does go up, though, please check it out! At this point all I can reveal is the title, which is "BIONICLE: The Forgotten Bond"...might change, but not likely to. Please, PLEASE don't use that title--it took me forever to come up with it. This project will take a back seat to Sekai, though, so it might be quite a while before it gets online...hopefully it will be worth the wait.

So, Book 3. Gonna take a while to get all this out.

Le-Isle was pretty much done by Chapter 49. I was planning for Nidovikk to leave for Ta-Isle to pay an extended visit to Takama. I also considered saying he would stop to see his children along the way, since earlier I had mentioned that he was a father and I wanted to make at least a small callback. I don’t think it was ever 100% decided exactly what Riken is…I’m also not sure if we were going to decide. He could very easily be left a mystery, I think. I would also hope to bring him back later in the Book, even briefly. Leanga would resume his Air-Lord duties, fighting Orb Battles against Ren (Trynahk) and Genakex (Gurren Lagann + Sky Wolf, “Chimera Gurren Lagann”). After that, we would move on to Ga-Isle.

I wanted to start with a scene with Tahace on the Lost Continent, probably running into the Original Air-Lord (Atmovia) and Water-Lord (Meradma), who may or may not be in a relationship. I was pretty intent on continuing these Original Element-Lord cameos. Ga-Isle was set to introduce Kain and the Shock Trooper Division, along with Kain’s method of punishment: keeping failed operatives locked in a dungeon until enough were there for a gladiatorial battle to the death, with the sole survivor being allowed to return to active duty. I also wanted to establish that the underwater fortress from the first two Books was originally built by the Shadow Consortium, perhaps as a training facility of some sorts. We were also set to introduce Cyren, a strange boy in possession of Language Supreme. Obviously, he would join the group. Kain wanted an operative to flat-out destroy Ga-Isle—tentatively I was thinking either Omega Shenron or CFW Judge—and, of course, Cell, Buu, and Frieza would be involved. However, Tahra would not be present for this scenario. It will be revealed that Takama has fallen ill again, so Water-Lord Cindy gives Tahra an Olmak Pearl so that she can warp back to Ta-Isle and see her father. Ga-Isle was also going to host the next part of the 4-Part Suite plotline, with Valxan fighting Club Strong (who had been disguised as head of the Ga-Isle Ghekula’s security). This seems like a good point to address this: when a Suite Boss fails and Gambler hands them the gun, I never have a plan for who lives or dies. I roll a die; if it lands on a 1, they die. Anything else, they live. For the record, Spade was killed, and anyone who would’ve survived would have made a comeback in the fourth battle at the Draco-Isle Ghekula. More on that later.

Flora-Isle was next, and it was originally planned to be a turning point. The mysterious Hutanik was going to make another small appearance, as he always does on islands where a new King Bohrok is introduced. I had an idea that Flora-Isle would be segregated between a capital city filled with “modern” Bioni-Lords, and several villages of an ancient tribe of native people who rejected the idea of moving forward. Jungle-Lord Vastazon was going to be descended from both of these peoples, and he was given this position so that he could be a diplomat between them. He is aware of this. And he hates it. As Tahra was supposed to prompt me to address sexism in the Bioni-Lords world, Vastazon was my attempt to think about racism/tokenism in the Bioni-Lords world and how he might deal with that. The ancient tribe, the Florin, would hold some sort of secret (not sure what), but when Vastazon tries to ask them about it they say that they are forbidden to speak by what they call “the Kabuzeshar”. As Vastazon puts it, a “zeshar” is a very specific type of leader generally used by the Florin during times of war. A zeshar is typically violent, ambitious, and not entirely trustworthy, but if the Florin think that is who they need, they will accept the consequences and name a zeshar. The relationship is not entirely without trust—the Florin will be entirely loyal to the zeshar, and all but the most wicked of zeshar will show the same fierce loyalty to the Florin. It’s not an entirely pleasant relationship, but it is extremely stable. It turns out that “Kabuzeshar” is the Florin name for Exo-Lehvak Kal Assassin, who draws his Assassin Va from the finest warriors of the Florin tribe. Assassin will usually stay put during the war, since his devotion to the title of Kabuzeshar compels him to protect the Florin above all else. I wanted to make Assassin seem redeemable—maybe not friendly, but good enough that he could believably join the “good guys” at some point in the future. I don’t think I’d properly worked out what the Consortium was going to be up to on this island. Once they were dealt with and all the Ultima-Orbs were won, however, the climax of the arc would involve Genakex fighting Assassin and the Legendary Spirit One-Winged Angel showing up and attacking Tahra and Zane. They’d be able to repel him (probably in an awesome way), but terribly injured, prompting our trip to Healer-Isle.

So, Healer-Isle…let’s try to start with some good things. I did plan on addressing the matter of The Diseased Ones and their origin, though I wasn’t sure if Kytan was going to create them during this visit or later in the book. The leader of The Diseased Ones we saw in Book 2, Revictor, was going to be involved in this arc, along with his friend Lassus Eigi, a doctor related to Keizah who can use a Blade of Souls made from several members of the Eigi family to amplify Healing Palms into a technique called “Soul Stitching.” Lassus would be the one treating Zane and Tahra’s wounds. And, now…here’s where it gets stupid. The original plan that I outlined when I was 12 was that Tahra was going to die during surgery. I have since realized that killing off one of my best female characters in order to push Kytan into madness is a terrible, terrible, terrible thing to do, and I will be ashamed of the sheer ignorance of this decision until the day I die. So anyway, that would have made Kytan start to lose it, motivated him to hate Lassus which would eventually lead to him creating The Diseased Ones and killing Revictor, Tahra would become the Blade of Souls he uses in Book 1, Zane was going to be suspected of attacking Tahra since there were no witnesses, all that stuff. But that’s stupid. Plan 2 was for Yume to step in and pull Tahra out of the main universe right before she died, causing everyone to believe she was dead while she actually did some work for Yume’s master in several alternate universes. A duplicate of her would be created in the World of the Dead to serve as Kytan’s Blade of Souls, and she would eventually return in Book 4 with a new ability that lets her “incinerate reality” to accomplish impossible feats (tentative name “Dimension Heat”). Then I realized that wasn’t much better. Or, really…any better. Plan 3 was that Tahra would develop her Dimension Heat ability to survive Healer-Isle and stay around for the rest of the book, then get caught in some dimensional weirdness (or The Retcon) at the end which would lead to her working in alternate dimensions, and blame Kytan’s madness on something else (or The Retcon). Sadly, this is the best idea I managed to come up with. It’s pretty bad, and I don’t think it removes enough of the root problem for me to say it’s truly a solution. Really, I can’t think of any great way to fix this short of re-writing the entire saga…should probably move on, though. But I don’t think the saga can be saved in its current form, and this problem right here is one massive reason why. Okay, onwards.

Av-Isle was going to get an arc this time. The Consortium wasn’t going to be involved, obviously, but we would get to see a new King Bohrok: Exo-Nuhvok Kal Prism. Originally, the Prism Va was going to be a psychologist the kids visited to cope with Tahra’s death, but by Plan 3 that was out the window and would need to be edited a bit. Prism was also going to have a way to avoid being tracked (prompting Genakex to ask Titan if his King tracking ability is any good after being duped three times already), probably through splitting the signal in a way similar to splitting light. He was also going to have a philosophical view based on things being split into smaller parts and/or small parts being brought together, continuing off his prism theme; this was sort of alluded to earlier, when it was revealed that Voyager and Prism have worked together in the past. Titan was going to fight Prism, but there wouldn’t be a winner. Hadn’t quite worked out what was going to happen, though…anyway, we’d also have everyone fighting Takon for Light Ultima-Orbs—Phaenyx was going to have some difficulty, leading to his Dakrevusko upgrading into Delryevik. I was also thinking of having Zodiakai show up, choosing Ren as his partner. Maybe that’s what could’ve convinced Prism to back off? Oh, and Hutanik made a small appearance. Again.

After that was Shade-Isle, which I didn’t really have much for. I was thinking this would be where Kytan obtained his Krahka, and that the Shock Trooper Division would send in the Seven Deadly Rahkshi to try to level the surface of the island, but…I don’t know. I might also have had Kytan bond with the Shadow-Lord to set up why the Shadow-Lord decides to work for Kytan as head of the Shade-Gang later. I also wanted to have Abomination find his way to Flora-Isle to fight Assassin at some point, maybe during the Shade-Isle arc, maybe not. That’s pretty much it.

I was thinking we would visit Ce-Isle next. BionicleKeyblade would show up to partner with Phaenyx, and Valxan would be here to reclaim one of his casinos. Before he made it there, however, he runs into Titan and Prism (who had followed Titan here to claim revenge or…something). In order to prevent a massive battle from breaking out, the three of them decide to call a temporary truce and begin to negotiate. A technique I thought of was the “Silver Hive”: when multiple King Bohrok are in the same area, they can generate a silver energy dome. Only the Va Champions are allowed inside the dome, and they cannot leave until they all agree that negotiations are over. Violence is prohibited within the dome, and any attempt to fuse or attack will result in the individual being paralyzed. Once things were worked out and Titan agreed to extend the truce, the Hive would be cancelled, Prism would leave, and Valxan would head to the Ce-Isle Lucky Ghekula. The boss of that Ghekula would turn out to be Dia Iceburn, a reluctant member of the Consortium who does not wish to fight Valxan. Needless to say, they end up fighting anyway, and she ends up facing Gambler’s game. The Psionics-Lord, Cerveau, is an incredibly smart psychologist/sociologist who will regularly use her psychic powers to create a standing illusion that modifies her appearance—it allows her to observe how people treat her differently when using a different combination of physical traits. She was going to have a massive collection of Psionic Spirits, frequently changing up her battle strategy. Included would be Shiki, using her Groove Pawn technique to show off a lot of Spirits quickly; Dream Eater Spirits, which could be used through Groove Pawn or use their Malice Link techniques to power up other Spirits; and Gestalt Warrior, a new Spirit that’s basically Gurren Lagann for Psionic Spirits (it’s on the Index if you want to see it). I also wanted to finally address how Ultima-Orbs were created…hadn’t worked out the details yet, but…I was going to! I also figured I’d have the Consortium making counterfeit Ultima-Orbs, since that would give me an excuse to work out the process.

Mutant-Isle, then. It would still have a fixed location at this point—at the end of the book I planned to have Kytan destroy its base and make it free-floating, with Norscu using Fullmetal’s alchemy to create the ocean current that would carry it going forward. Way back in the day, I had said that Norscu didn’t give Kytan his Rahaga Ultima-Orb because he felt the boy didn’t deserve it, which was the final straw in turning him into the 10th, but with the introduction of new Elements and islands I’m not sure that would’ve worked out. So yes, Norscu was here, along with Avanda (not sure if they were married at this point) and Vitirus, the Original Stone-Lord. I was seriously considering presenting a romantic relationship between Norscu and Vitirus—the details of this in relation to Norscu’s marriage to Avanda were still being worked out (Norscu may have been bisexual, or married Avanda rather than Vitirus to avoid prejudice, etc). Vitirus may have also had a different skin color, and in battle he was going to use Exo-Gigalith. The Consortium was going to pull a big offensive, as villains always do on Mutant-Isle: it was meant to involve every Division in some way to either conquer or destroy the island. It was primarily a Shock Trooper operation, but they were utilizing the Striking Venom Spirit Carrier designed by the Science Division, the Military Division would be offering support, the Assassination Division would be targeting Norscu (or perhaps Avanda or Vitirus), and the Gambling Division would have infiltrated the island to discover its weak points (I was thinking of using Acid Ace as the Gambling operative, and bringing in Valxan to fight him as an addition to the 4-Part Suite plotline).

Man, this is long. I think I’m going to split it in two—expect the remainder of the Book 3 summary tomorrow or so.
  15. Pahrak Model ZX
Volt-Isle and Fe-Isle could be presented in either order. While it does make sense that the gang would go to Fe-Isle first, given Genakex is a Steel specialist, I was thinking of visiting Volt-Isle first, since we used Fe-Isle first in Sekai and I wanted to begin showing Zempyst and Aile sooner. As I’ve shown in previews, these two are in a relationship, with Aile being hyperactive and clingy and Zempyst being a total tsundere. I was planning to involve the Assassination Division: while Aile was distracted, either by an assassin or Cell or Buu, Zempyst would be targeted by Exo-Chandelure, who fights by trapping opponents in a field of darkness and slowly wearing them down. Zempyst would be in serious danger here, and when Aile realized that, she would utterly destroy whoever she was fighting, fly to Zempyst’s location, and take Exo-Chandelure out with a single, flawless hit. This was intended to give us a look at Aile’s full power, what it takes for her to reveal it, and how much Zempyst means to her.

When we did get to Fe-Isle, Genakex would ask Artakhall some questions about Gurren Lagann. Something mentioned earlier is the fact that Genakex has been using the effects of Spirits he has Combined with, and has been working on the assumption that it’s an innate feature of Combine. However, Artakhall tells him that is not the case: Combined Spirits should not have their effects in place unless the user has the corresponding Ultima-Orbs to activate the effect. Genakex’s use of these effects is curious, and upon learning this, he actually loses the ability to use them during his battle with Artakhall. The Steel-Lord says that Gurren Lagann has two major abilities, each stemming from one of its Elements. Its Combine ability is Steel Elemental, so Artakhall understands it; but the other ability (which may explain this mystery) is Dragon-related, so Artakhall cannot offer any assistance and recommends they ask Aile when they next see her. (Truth be told…originally, I had just forgotten that I had made this decision and didn’t remember until after Genakex had used Grimlock’s effect in his battle with Stratoro. This was my attempt to turn the mistake into something cool!) Artakhall would be using several newer Spirits different from the ones he used in Sekai, and once I began trying to put more diversity in the cast, I began considering making him a trans individual. Overall, though, his behavior would be similar to how he acted in Sekai: rather distant, but kind at heart. The Consortium would send the new Exo-Vahki to siege the Fe-Isle mines, and, since I really wanted to show off the Exo-Vahki, there would be several encounters with them. I think the first encounter would have each Exo-Vahki fighting individually, a fight where the heroes would lose, and the second would be a similar encounter but with the Vahki being on the losing end. Contrivance was then going to give them a rare second chance, letting them fight again with one of them (possibly Rorzakh?) using the Exo-Link to its fullest, becoming a Vahki Nui. The Spirits have been modified to bypass some restrictions on Link Skills, making Rorzakh Nui very dangerous and giving him a win. The fourth encounter, then, is when Rorzakh Nui would have been defeated and the Exo-Vahki reduced to experiments. As everyone is about to leave Fe-Isle, Hutanik shows up yet again, this time making the shocking revelation that he is a Va Champion. Exo-Tahnok Kal Tyrant has been keeping an eye on Titan all along, staying hidden using a technique that allows him to divert his tracking signal if another King Bohrok is in the area, even if they are hiding their own signal through another method. (So basically, Titan’s ability to track other Kings only ever worked 1/5 times. Guess how happy he’d be about that.) Tyrant is, in Titan’s eyes, even worse than Abomination: Tyrant also successfully freed the Bahrag, and even helped them clean Mata Nui, but once that was complete he grew restless and decided to kill the Bahrag so that he could gain their power. Since he had time to master his energies and had more control when absorbing those of the Bahrag, Tyrant is exceptionally powerful, and he views the other Kings as pitiful imitations. Still, he has not been able to win the war, so he proposes that all the King Bohrok gather on Draco-Isle for one final battle. Titan agrees, letting Tyrant go to gather the other Kings while Genakex and the group advances to the last island.

This might start getting a little more disorganized here, sorry. Zempyst would be on Draco-Isle to spend more time with Aile, and Norscu, Vitirus, and Avanda might have appeared as well. All the King Bohrok would show up one at a time, holding a very uneasy truce until the time for their massive battle. Voyager, Prism, and even Titan agree to maintain their alliance in the battle; Assassin is invited to join them, but he refuses. Genakex immediately asks Aile about Gurren Lagann’s Dragon Elemental ability, which she explains (perhaps a bit cryptically) as the ability to bypass rules simply by believing. Genakex had been tapping into this ability to use the effects of Spirits he had Combined with, but when he stopped believing that he could, the ability vanished. He is able to reactivate this ability when the Orb Battles begin (in similar fashion to the Terminal Trials of Sekai): when Genakex fights, he Combines with every Steel Spirit he owns (except for Titan, maybe) to become Ikhav Gurren Lagann, which is visually identical to Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann for those of you familiar with Gurren Lagann’s source. The Orb Battles are spaced out, some being done early, some being saved until after the following mini-arcs. Valxan, while waiting for the King Bohrok battle, goes to investigate the Draco-Isle Lucky Ghekula, encountering Heart Breaker (position in the casino not determined) and any Suite Bosses who had survived their previous failures. (Hopefully at least one would survive so that they could use their Shuffle attack, which would allow them all to team up in one move for large damage.) Obviously, Valxan would win no matter how many opponents he ended up with. This would also be when everyone decides to take down the Shadow Consortium.

Now, prior to this, I wanted to give all the Division Heads and members of equivalent rank a chance to show off. Meutrière assassinated the Mainland President; Contrivance would probably battle one of his experiments that broke loose; Exdeath, in his journeys on the Lost Continent, was going to have a battle with Tahace; and other random battles. All the kids and Valxan would participate, each taking a different opponent, tentatively: Kytan vs Garland (has collected artifacts containing powers of the Hapori, achieves a Super Spirit based on Chaos from Final Fantasy), Cyren vs Millennium Earl, Genakex vs Contrivance (Contrivance has converted his failed operatives into weapons he can combine with, and uses his Mask of Fusion to break down Genakex’s Combinations), Xyla vs Meutrière, Zane vs Virulence, Valxan vs Gambler, Phaenyx vs Kain, and Ren vs Exdeath. (I hadn’t decided who Tahra would be fighting.) When all was done, they would leave the Consortium island behind and head back to Draco-Isle.

That leads us to the final King Bohrok battle. With Titan, Voyager, and Prism working together, they are able to take down Abomination and Assassin, but eventually it ends up being a one on one duel between Tyrant and Titan to determine the winner. Tyrant clearly has the upper hand, prompting Titan to say farewell to Genakex (telling him that he was an excellent Titan Va and such), but before Tyrant lands the final blow, the cycle ends and all King Bohrok are forced back into slumber. This sets up for all the Kings to return in Book 4. At some point, it is also revealed that Tyrant was responsible for One-Winged Angel attacking on Flora-Isle: he had negotiated with the Legendary Spirits serving Gahu-Shadow and said that if they helped him win the war, then Gahu-Shadow would be allowed to rule the Bioni-Lords Universe once Tyrant left it to conquer others.

After that, all that would be left would be the remaining Orb Battles. Kytan would be last, probably, since I was thinking he would not be given his Dragon Ultima-Orb as a replacement for the aforementioned Rahaga Ultima-Orb deal. Then again, with things being modified, maybe this wouldn’t fit anymore. Either way, things eventually progress to Kytan (along with Tahra and perhaps some others) fighting One-Winged Angel and Tabuu. The Frères and their allies are elsewhere, however; it turns out that Cyren is actually Konpaku in disguise. He attacks and kills Zane, absorbing his power and combining Obscura and Language Supreme to create Mairi, an ancient Super Spirit that at one point split into two groups who later devolved into Obscura and Language. Ren and Phaenyx do their best to fight Mairi, but they are unsuccessful. It occurs to them that, since Zodiakai and BionicleKeyblade are Toa, perhaps they can combine into a Kaita, but Konpaku tells them it will not work because their Spirits are artificially created Toa, called so because those unaware of their origins did not know any better. Ren makes another proposal: Phaenyx uses his Keyblade to unlock and absorb the Zodiac energies within Zodiakai, creating a pseudo-Kaita that might stand a better chance. Phaenyx refuses, since the process would release Ren’s heart as well, killing him. However, since they are about to die anyway, Ren intercepts Phaenyx’s Keyblade and initiates the process, allowing Phaenyx to fight on more equal ground with Konpaku. Sadly, Konpaku is still victorious. Kytan and the others are able to seal One-Winged Angel in a manner similar to how Stained Glass was defeated, and Tabuu is attacked in such a way that his mind shatters, leaving him the way we see him in Sekai. Kytan then proceeds to fight Konpaku, sealing his body inside a book in an effort to defeat him. Konpaku’s strange nature allows his soul to escape, but his body (and Mairi) remains trapped in the book, and he vows to retrieve them someday.

The ending has gotten really messy. The original plan: Kytan goes super nuts, creates The Diseased Ones and kills Revictor as a way of taking revenge on Lassus, kills Vitirus and makes Mutant-Isle free-floating as a way of taking revenge on Norscu, contacts the Shadow-Lord to begin forming the Shade-Gang from the remnants of the Shadow Consortium, and converts the Consortium’s island into the Mountain of Death. This then leads to Genakex and Xyla storming the mountain. At first I thought they would fight two on one, but then I thought Kytan would cast the Doppelganger Spell on Xyla. Xyla’s doppelganger would use a Stone Spirit (not sure which one, might have made a new one) and be either incredibly arrogant or personify self-loathing, depending on how Xyla continued to develop. Xyla would win, and then be sure to keep her doppelganger too weak to re-separate going forward. (This is also meant to explain why the Darkhadaz persona existed before the doppelganger spell was cast on Khadaz: since Xyla’s doppelganger was still inside her soul when Khadaz was conceived, the conflict was sort of passed on, creating Darkhadaz. Since Darkhadaz was separate when Kharuun was conceived, Kharuun does not have the same problem.) Genakex, using Ikhav Gurren Lagann, was going to fight Kytan, using Krahka. They would argue a bit first, but when Genakex realized Kytan was too far gone, he would resolve to fight to bring him out of it, calling him by name instead of “niisan” to show that has accepted that Kytan is now the 10th rather than his brother. I also wanted to include something along the lines of “I’ve always wanted to be you, so I know who you really are”, and “when you wake up from this, it’ll be because for the first time, you want to be a little more like me”, though I guess that’s pretty cheesy. Anywho, Genakex loses, but Kytan allows him and Xyla to escape and casts The Retcon. The memories of those with great power, however, are unaffected—the Element-Lords, Genakex, and Xyla all remember everything. Zempyst goes to fight Kytan and gets killed, as had been previously stated.

Now, once Plans 2 and 3 came into play, I thought maybe Konpaku had something to do with The Retcon, and/or he did something that caused Tahra, Vitirus, and Zempyst to disappear from this world rather than being killed. (They’d all come back in Book 4.) Konpaku would also be filling Kytan with madness as time went on, making him the cause of Kytan turning into the 10th. Also, Konpaku would at some point obtain blood from either Kytan or Genakex, as he promised “the puppetmaster” in Chapter 1; the puppetmaster then used the Ikhav blood to increase the strength of his latest creation, none other than Dark Knight Destroyer, explaining why Destroyer behaved like an Ikhav.

Anyway, it all sort of ends up at the same place. The story is complete, so we return to the present, where Khadaz and Norscu take Kytan to see Genakex and Xyla again. Genakex punches Kytan and says he had a lot of time to think, and he only has one thing to say. Kytan expects Genakex to tell him off, but instead, his brother smiles and says “Welcome home, niisan.” So essentially, all is forgiven, and Kytan begins to work with the Element-Lords as one of their agents to make up for what he’s done. Or something like that. I was thinking of including some parts of Sekai’s Epilogue as well—namely Konpaku unsealing Mairi and the sentient Shadow Apprentice absorbing Shadow Knight’s soul, to remind readers of what’s in store for Book 4.

So, that’s Kako. It was either going to be terribly offensive or end up a complete and total mess. I have concerns about my plans for Books 4 and 5, which I will post soon, but Kako’s immediate and massive concerns are especially discouraging. I still care about Bioni-Lords and I still think there’s a chance it could work, but it’ll need some serious reformulating if that is to happen. As such, it’s time for me to let go of its current iteration.

So I guess, in order to let go of the past, I need to start by letting go of Kako. *drums*

…Get it because “kako” means “past” I’m sorry I just really like puns

Sorry for the huge delay, but it took a while to get all this typed back up. Let’s see…Bioni-Lords Book 4: Sensou (“War”). About 12 years after the defeat of the Dark Knights, Kraahkan-Nui is pulled from his and Avohkii-Nui’s pocket dimension out into the main dimension, prompting a massive war between the forces of good and evil. Konpaku and Les Douze Ombres were working for Kraahkan-Nui, trying to find a way to help him switch worlds (couldn’t do it on his own because it would give Avohkii-Nui an opening in their eternal battle); hadn’t decided on how exactly he was going to make the trip in Sensou, but…anyway. This war is also what Aile’s original vision pointed towards. Everything she’s done since then, she’s done to increase the chances of the good guys winning this war. Now, let me get together a list of everyone involved…

--Good Guys: Khadaz (possibly using a new Super Spirit through gaining control over Darkhadaz), Amy, Rahksean, Lexero, Twani, Midori, Nuvakuta, Zagrin, Kazumi, Rikka, Dranes, Zak, Azara and the other Devil Orb users (they would get reduced to Cores again so Azara could use Redeemed Demon, but I also thought that Azara would be reduced to a Core and the Paladins would undergo the same fate, with Pyrami ultimately using all of their Cores to craft an even more powerful Super Spirit tentatively named “Palademon”), Light Force Paladins, Barometz, Reikaz, Corinwood, Kohena, Toatoa, Zenrei, Kharzani, Kharuun, Hyohana, Neb-X, Neya, Catalina, Keelie, Keizah, Selina, Wraith (relative of Phaenyx, was only shown briefly), any surviving Element-Lords, Marigold, Genakex (would be using Ikhav Gurren Lagann (possibly with Titan) and at some point Combine with Kharuun to form Saigo Ikhav Gurren Lagann, with Kharuun appearing as the ghostly double Phantom Ikhav Gurren Lagann; he would probably also Combine with the Enterprise at some point), Xyla, Kytan, Tahra (going with the plan that had her outside of the main dimension since Book 3, she would be back now and possess the Dimension Heat ability to “incinerate reality”), Titan, Voyager, Prism, Assassin, Legolord (a new Vassal Legendary composed of many Lego bricks), the Gahu (minus Gahu-Shadow), the Elemental Knights (minus Shadow Knight), the Hapori (minus Dume), Avohkii-Nui (maybe, he might just take a back seat)

--Bad Guys: Kraahkan-Nui, Hapori Dume, Tabuu (possibly with his mind restored), One-Winged Angel (freed from his seal), Stained Glass Inmacula (also freed), Konpaku (using Mairi again, possibly has absorbed the other “variants” of Language and Obscure to create a “super Mairi”, would need to absorb Nikari’s Blade of Souls (with the power of Obscural) to perfect it), Absent Sentiment (the sentient Shadow Apprentice who absorbed Shadow Knight’s soul, much more powerful now, probably wielding the Twayblade infused with Gahu-Shadow’s remains), Atomicus (a new Vassal Legendary personifying the force of destruction), Tyrant, Abomination, Union and probably some other Shade-Gang forces, Darkaea (probably; his servants would probably also be released from Subspace)

…Whew. I think that’s everyone. Anyway, in the end, Khadaz would use a suicide attack to weaken Kraahkan-Nui to the point where Avohkii-Nui could drag him back into the pocket dimension, which is considered a victory for the good guys. Don’t know how many others would have died in the process, but there probably would have been some deaths for characters who otherwise are generally protected for plot purposes. You know, for added drama and such. The final scene would be around a year after the end of the war, with Hyohana giving birth to a son who they then name Khadaz, in order to keep his memory alive or something like that.

My plans for Sensou were looking messier and messier as time went on. I wasn’t entirely sure how to structure it, or how to make a story with that many characters work…probably wouldn’t have looked too good no matter what I did! It always seemed like a good place to introduce a lot of cool stuff, though…

Lastly, there’s Bioni-Lords Book 5: Furoku (“Supplement”). This wasn’t so much going to be a Book as a collection of short stories, filling in blanks in the timeline, showing alternate timelines, and, amidst all that, continuing events past the end of Book 4. I wanted Nk and Zagrin to have one final fight (as promised way back in Book 1), and I also wanted to do something with Khadaz Ikhav the Second—possibly something involving a Bioni-Lords civil war, but I hadn’t really worked anything out. The main post-Sensou plot, though, wouldn’t take place in the main universe.

Khadaz did not actually die in his final attack. Instead, he was transported to Twilight Space, where he meets up with Yume and King Syrag (who did the same thing as Khadaz and has been there ever since), and is finally introduced to their master: the Twilight Monarch. The Monarch is from a race of beings known as “Transdimensionals”, who possess immense power and move through worlds as they see fit. The Twilight Monarch governs Twilight Space, as it is the gateway between the Bioni-Lords Universe and every other universe out there. He does his best to keep the universe safe from threats both inside and out, primarily through servants since he is not allowed to interfere directly. Syrag has been fighting off individuals who would want to invade the Bioni-Lords Universe, and has not aged a day since individuals only experience the flow of time when within their home universe. Yume more usually delivers messages to important individuals in the universe, also does not age, and…well, her backstory is a little embarrassing. She is actually the character Hanajima from the manga/anime Fruits Basket; her world (likely one in parallel to the world actually presented in the series) was destroyed, but she was able to survive due to her abilities. The Twilight Monarch rescued her and she has been working for him ever since. While Tahra, Vitirus, and Zempyst were here, they assisted Syrag in defending Twilight Space and also went out into the multiverse to hunt down some other threats.

Khadaz is given the opportunity to work for the Twilight Monarch, but he would rather go back home. He is told he may only do so if he is able to defeat the Twilight Monarch in battle. Naturally, he accepts. It doesn’t go well. During the fight, however, Khadaz unlocks a new ability: a transformation known as “Unlimited Ikhav,” which is an evolution of the Ikhav ability to defy fate. Unlimited Khadaz wears a black jumpsuit with dark green armor on his shoulders, torso, feet, and limbs, and a green Kanohi Hau; he is able to use the abilities of any Spirit or Super Spirit Khadaz has ever fused with (including Gahu Darkhadaz by loophole). It’s not a Spirit, but he is still able to boost his power through Chikara Compression, so all these things combined makes him really, really strong. But he still loses. Without any choice, Khadaz starts working for the Twilight Monarch, going out to visit other universes and fighting off anything that might want to find its way into his world.

(I had originally planned to use Unlimited Ikhav in a short series for the story’s 10th anniversary, where Khadaz, Genakex, and Kharuun would fight favorite villains from the Ikhav Trilogy and ultimately battle an upgraded Stained Glass (Stained Glass Monoschroma) that could absorb individuals by turning them into small stained glass windows. Khadaz would use the Unlimited form to beat Monoschroma, then give up the power to return to his world, which had a failsafe or something built in to prevent him from using it while there. You know, something weird like that to prevent him from using it in Sensou, which would canonically take place a few years after this whole thing.)

I hadn’t quite pinned down what sort of threats Khadaz would be fighting, but I thought it would be cool to have something (or multiple things) so awful that he had to gather a team of Unlimited Ikhav. Only one Ikhav is born with the ability to achieve the Unlimited form, but this ability is given to a different Ikhav in different timelines. So, the Twilight Monarch would send Khadaz into alternate timelines to recruit the Unlimited Ikhav of each. The basic abilities and form of the transformation are the same for all Unlimited Ikhav, but each has a different armor color and Kanohi. Possible teammates would’ve been:
    -Kharuun: Brown armor, Great Kakama
    -Genakex: Red armor, Great Pakari
    -Norscu: Purple armor, Noble Matatu
    -Rien: Black armor, Great Miru
-Kytan: White armor, Great Akaku (Armor color and Kanohi were still tentative. Also, Unlimited Kytan would be able to bypass the restrictions on Krahka’s abilities, enabling him to use the powers of any Spirit (barring the Nui) as well as any Super Spirit.)
    -Reikaz: Orange armor, Noble Mahiki
-Azara: Pale green armor, Great Kaukau

Eventually, all threats would be dealt with, and Khadaz would approach the Twilight Monarch for another chance to win passage home—his last chance. The Monarch would change things up by forming three portals: one leading to Khadaz’s world, one leading to another part of Twilight Space, and one leading to some random other world. If Khadaz could make it to one of those, the battle would end. Khadaz would pull out all the stops: Unlimited Ikhav, Spirit Weapons, Blades of Souls, Chikara Compression (which he would have refined enough that he can use Burst up to five times at once, simply referred to as “Chikara Compression Burst 5”), the works. He’s able to incapacitate the Monarch long enough to reach a portal…but I wasn’t going to tell you which one. How cruel of me! Leaving you to forever wonder if Khadaz made it home, if he continued serving the Monarch for eternity, or if he ended up lost amidst the multiverse!

…But since we’re doing things this way, there’s no point in keeping it a secret. My plan was for Khadaz to take the portal leading to a random world, so that in other stories, I could give him cameos and show him gradually working his way from world to world trying to find his way home. Hadn’t decided if he was ever going to make it.

So, there’s the outline for the rest of the saga I had planned. I suppose there are some other bits of info I didn’t include in these posts, but eh, don’t know that I’ll be typing those up any time soon. If you guys have any questions, do feel free to ask, and I won’t keep any secrets. Again, thank you all for the support you’ve offered over the years. It was loads of fun while it lasted!

Technically I revealed it the other day, but meh. Bioni-Lords: Story of the Violet Rose and Bioni-Lords: Story of the Honored Soul take place in the alternate dimensions featured in the cancelled VioletRose/HonoredSoul game, and since the two dimensions are intertwined, the stories will be as well. However, these stories will be short--maybe around ten chapters each--so I want to be sure to put as much in these chapters as I can. Also...is it against the rules for two epics to share a review topic? Because I was just thinking, since they're intertwining...
Currently, I plan on each story having only one protagonist--the 18 year old, mean-hearted Rose and the 15 year old, borderline know-it-all Soul. These two young women will be shown travelling from city to city in their respective universes and defeating the Element-Lords, while also interacting with each other throgh the Olmak Breach, a hole between the dimensions, and dealing with some dark forces. More details will be revealed as I make them up.
But I do have some guest star slots: the Element-Lords. But keep in mind that these Element-Lords will get nowhere near as much screentime as in the Books, and their roster of Spirits will have to be limited to what they use in their battles with the main characters unless I contact you and ask for more. If you want to design an Element-Lord, please respond to this blog post and say which Element-Lord you want--should help everyone to keep track of what Elements are taken. Also, I will allow you to list another Element-Lord you want to design, BUT if someone else wants your second choice as their first choice, you will have to pick a new one. Plus, I call Dragon-Lord.
EDIT: Also, Fire and Ice are reserved
ANOTHER EDIT: You know what, I'll just list the taken and available Elements.

Taken Elements: Fire, Earth, Ice, Air, Water, Light Shadow, Psionics, Rahaga, Steel, Thunder,Dragon

    Available Elements: Stone, Jungle

There's been a lot of Pokemon Black and White 2 info this past week...but, I'm going to leave you on your own for that. It's being released in Japan this time next week, so finding info should become pretty easy.

Also, will try to get a Kako chapter typed today. Pokemon Conquest is being released Monday, so...I might be MIA.

    Korra thoughts, DEFINITELY contain spoilers:
-Again: Thank God I don't live near any hardcore Makorra fans.
-So I guess bloodbending without a full moon is just a genetic quirk or something...? I doubt we'll ever get a proper explanation.
-Is this really the time for petty relationship squabbles...? Come on, Asami. Priorities.
-Of course Tenzin's the only councilman who escaped. The other three never have anything to contribute!
-Well, there goes the Batmobile. I miss it already.
-Even child airbenders are overpowered! Just goes to show how overpowered the element is. Not that I'm complaining.
-Of course the baby is born at an inconvenient time...
-I believe there are a few scenes in this episode that call for a quote. Ahem...YOU SHALL NOT PASS!
    -What...? No...not Lin!! WHY?! *sobbing*
-A new General Iroh? Awesome! And he even has Zuko's voice...! So I'm guessing he's Zuko's son, then? *looks it up* Hm, can't confirm it...
-The season finale is next week...I do love this show, but I gotta say, it moves kinda quickly.

    Special Spirit Tracker attachments:
Later on in the game, you will be able to go on optional quests to upgrade the Spirit Tracker, enabling it to track a wider variety of Spirits.
--First is the Dimensional Inverter, available at Level 5, which will enable you to track Spirits whose Elements correspond to the opposing Version, so long as you provide an additional charge of one battle to the Tracker and are in the area associated with the Element directly opposed to the Element you are tracking (see below).
(Element Opposition: Fire/Stone/Earth is the opposite of Ice/Air/Water, Thunder is the opposite of Steel, Jungle is the opposite of Psionics, Shadow is the opposite of Light, and Rahaga is the opposite of Dragon. When using the Dimensional Inverter to track a Spirit, you must be in the area around the town tied to the Element directly opposed to the Element of the Spirit you are tracking.)
--Also available at Level 5 is the Magnetic Radar, which will enable you to track Vehicle Spirits with an additional charge of one battle to the Tracker. Vehicle Spirits will always be found with a pilot, which is usually random, but if you charge the Tracker to a level where it can track the combined FE of the Vehicle and a specific pilot plus one battle charge to determine which pilot you’ll find with the Vehicle. Also, in VioletRose Version, you will need the Dimensional Inverter to find most Vehicle Spirits, but you will not need to charge both attachments.
--At Level 6, you will be able to obtain the Symbiosis Detector, which allows you to hunt Parasite Spirits so long as you have an additional one battle charge. The host of the Parasite Spirit is usually random, but if you charge the Tracker to a level where it can track the combined FE of the Parasite and a specific host plus one battle charge to determine which host you’ll find with the Parasite.

    The Chain Rule:
In the past, the nature of Parasite-type Spirits has been abused to create “Parasite Chains”, which combine numerous Parasites and end with one non-Parasite Spirit with extraordinary Fusion Energy values. In VioletRose and HonoredSoul, you can create a Parasite Chain, but the maximum FE cannot exceed 200. A 200 FE Spirit may be given one Parasite, but this is the only exception.

Here's the first of my lectures, the origins of Bioni-Lords. Even though parts of it are a little embarrassing, and it's not exactly epic or anything, I thought you might still want to know...ahem:

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...

Actually it was the early 2000s, somewhere in the US I won't disclose due to paranoia. I was a kid in the age where Pokemon and Digimon were the big thing, but because my parents thought said shows were too violent my sisters and I weren't allowed to watch them, so...well, in my mind I had to come up with something to counter them. I came up with weird stuff like Claymon, Transformermon, Monstermon (before I realized that the "mon" in those titles was short for "monster"...), and, of course, Bionimon. Through the years the only one that really, really stuck was Bionimon, which saw several different incarnations which were all just kind of...there.

Eventually, after I was finally allowed to watch and play Pokemon (Gold version was the first I really got into...loved my Typhlosion...), I decided to make the next incarnation of Bionimon more defined--I gave each Bionimon types and stats, and a few got special effects (Tahu, Kopaka, and Makuta)--and put it on BZPower as a game. Said game was, of course, a complete rip-off of Pokemon: you would take your starter Bionimon, a Bionidex, and several Bioniballs, and have the option of entering grass to encounter wild Bionimon on your way to cities where you would take on the Gym Leader and win masks. I even thought up different types of Bioniballs, Nui Machines (think Technical Machines), and a bunch of sidequests, including one later on where you entered a different world and actually became the Bionimon.

Several members joined the game and seemed to enjoy it, and I also held a contest--the original list had only 119 Bionimon, and I wanted an even number. So, some members sent in designs for the 120th Bionimon, and in the end I chose one that towered over all others--Mairi, with an attack that could slay most Bionimon in one hit and an effect that gave it, effectively, twice the maximum HP. The game was rather short-lived, though; the Premier who opened the topic said he couldn't keep up and had the topic closed. Since I was younger at the time I was pretty angry, but I've since outgrown that--the closing of Bionimon is actually one of the greatest things that's ever happened to me.

I wanted to reopen Bionimon, but for some reason I thought that if I made another game exactly the same it would just get shut down again because the original one was. So I completely changed it. I took the idea of becoming Bionimon and expanded upon that, changing "Bionimon" to "Bioni-Spirits." I took away the need for Bioniballs as well, for these Bioni-Spirits would turn into glass Orbs filled with sparks of energy when defeated, and humans could then use these Orbs to merge with the Spirit and gain armor that carried the abilities and powers of said Spirit. I used islands instead of cities, "Element-Lords" instead of Gym Leaders, "Battlefields" instead of Gyms, and in place of masks I used "Ultima-Orbs," orbs that were entirely one color that activated the special effects of those select few Bioni-Spirits who had them and let humans use more than one Spirit in each battle. The idea of encountering Bionimon/Bioni-Spirits in the grass was taken out--Spirits would randomly appear on the bridges between islands and in the areas of the islands that were unpopulated. I even doubled each Spirit's HP and changed it to "Fusion Energy."

A new name was needed, of course, and I came up with "Bioni-Lords": "Bioni" for "Bionicle", "Lord" as in "Master," so the term roughly translates to "Master of Bionicles." That wasn't enough, however--I felt the need to protect Mairi, the first and, at the time, only Bioni-Spirit who was not designed by me. Mairi's creator bestowed the new name "Obscura" upon his Spirit, and one Premier Application later I opened Bioni-Lords: The Game here on BZPower. More contests were held and eventually I actually held a tournament or two, and I added in healing items and a few other tweaks to the system. Other members contributed more and more, sending in Orbs outside of the contests and, at one point, new Elements were even suggested. It lasted a while, but eventually I gave up on the game and it died...though I have been searching for a Phoenix Down to use on it as of late...

Early on during all this I decided to write a story to go along with Bioni-Lords, which was actually put on BZP before the game. Bioni-Lords: The Epic was originally very simple: a kid based on me, "Khadaz" (which is "Zadakh" beckwards, more or less; I was 12 at the time, so he was also 12), would go from island to island and gather the Ultima-Orbs, and since I needed something after that I made him the "Chosen One" (generic...), destined to defeat...hm, what could a generic final boss be called...how about "the 10th Level Bioni-Lord," since there are only 9 Elements? And his lackeys, the Team Rocket of this world, can be called..."the Shade-Gang"...yeah...I'll put up guest star forms just in case people get interested.

Quite obviously, the story underwent huge revision, since it went on for, oh...three years. I procrastinate, and then you throw in writer's block and...three years. Some story points were dropped, guest stars came in, my writing improved, characters got developed...you know, stuff like that. A lot of contributions were made by other people, and in the end Bioni-Lords became what I like to call my definitive work. Since I'm impatient, I planned out a whole eight book saga, but then with a litte encouragement and thought I cut three books out and came out with a five book saga. Right now, I'm on Book 2...but I don't think this one will take quite as long as the first, even with more islands and a frequently revesited Lost Continent.

There are a few points that can be expanded upon, but I'll save them for their own lectures. I think that about covers the origin of Bioni-Lords, so...thanks for your time; I don't want to keep you any longer, so off you go! Have a nice day!

This is the new idea I mentioned...

Long ago, there existed two worlds: a world of humans, and a world of Bionicles. But the humans, in their foolishness, attempted to shatter the boundaries that separated these worlds, causing all of creation to swirl into a vortex of chaos. Fourteen Bionicles braved the vortex and captured the source of the chaos, and as the vortex came to a halt these fourteen were transformed by the very same energy they had sought to destroy. Even after the vortex ceased, creation still lay in ruins, so the fourteen Bionicles--later known as the Archaic Spirits--used their newfound power to reconstruct the two worlds. However, humans and Bionicles had been irrevocably integrated, and the two reconstructed worlds now housed members of both species. As another side-effect of the integration, Bionicles had been reduced to a more primal state, and when dealt enough damage would transform into a glass Orb containing a spark of energy. Humans could use these Orbs to gain the armor and powers of the Bionicles, creating a new entity...the Bioni-Lord. The Archaic Spirits decided that these new worlds needed to be watched over, but because of their massive power the worlds could not sustain them. So, the Archaic Spirits created two Protosteel Orbs into which they channeled a large portion of their power, and then the Orbs were wrapped in the fabric that composes the space between dimensions to supress their energy. Seven of the Archaic Spirits went to watch over one world, taking a Protosteel Orb with them, while the remaining seven took the other Orb to the second world. The Protosteel Orbs were sealed away, and the Archaic Spirits entered a dormant state to observe their new worlds...

And you thought I couldn't make Bioni-Lords any more like Pokemon!

Bioni-Lords VioletRose Version and Bioni-Lords HonoredSoul Version is a new incarnation of the Bioni-Lords game I intend to post sometime soon. It will be one topic, where the player chooses which world they wish to put their character in, with each world specializing in half of the fourteen elements. VioletRose will feature Fire, Stone, Earth, Shadow, Thunder, Jungle, and Rahaga, while HonoredSoul will feature Ice, Air, Water, Light, Steel, Psionics, and Dragon. Players will pick from a list of starting Bioni-Spirits and then begin their quest, where they will encounter wild Bioni-Spirits, other BIoni-Lords, and other things on their way to power their Spirit Booster.

More information will be given soon (maybe tomorrow?); this post was just to make the official announcement and provide the background story. Interested yet?

Well I finished writing Chapter 64 Bioni-Lords Book 2: Sekai, where Midori fights the Shadow-Lord, but I don't know how soon I'll get it up...see, I have a bunch of end-of-the-year projects I need to get done for school, so I SHOULD be spending my time doing that. On the other hand...I won't have internet access for part of this weekend, and I need the internet for most to all of this work, so maybe I will get Sekai 64 typed...*shrug*

Just letting you guys know. Plus, in May I may (heh...) be able to increase my work patterns; Sekai might accelerate, and I might actually get the websites caught up. We'll see...

    Command: Sign off. Executing command...

...And WHY is it that whenever I put "Bioni-Lords" in the title of a topic or, apparently, blog entry, it comes out with a lower case "L"?!?! I know it's not a big deal, but it just bugs me!!! "Bioni-Lords" looks SOOOO much better than "Bioni-lords"!!!!

I've officially begun updating the Spirit Index with new Spirits! Not done yet...not sure when I will be done, but it'll probably be soon. I have a slew of Dream Eater Spirits to get online, then a Spirit that Wraith sent in, then some new Pokemon Spirits, and then...since there were already several groups of "alternate Freres," I decided to do a new batch of my own. Probably won't be in the story at all, just thought they'd be fun to try out--see what they'd be like if I made them nowadays. After that I want to put up Spirits based on Sora and Riku as they appear in KH3D, then I need to think of two more Psionic Spirits to get the count to 70...

I did finish writing Kako 26, but I won't be typing it until I finish updating the Index. I'll get started on 27 soon, though I'm thinking I should stop and lay out a tentative overview of the arc first...

The entire point of all this multimedia storytelling is to sell toys to 8 year olds.

As I understand it, not many 8 year olds want to research something that started before they were born and ended when they were 3 in order to enjoy their brand new toy.

More toys will be sold if Lego takes the old continuity and gives it the reboot.

(And let’s hope they use a healthy dose of reboot polish to give it that extra shine.)
