  1. IC: Keran | Sakrinil"Y'know," came a voice from above Kaladin and Alfon, "I've only been in this town a couple days now, but if everyone here was as interesting as you..." A sleek, leaf-green Toa hopped down from the two story building he'd been standing on. "I don't think I'd ever want to leave!" He was grinning broadly as he looked from one to the other. "This happen often?"^^H-D^^
  2. OOC: I can never resist these references either IC: Srizz | City With the mechs blasting away at the Feranaki it was remarkably easy for Srizz to just walk down a given street, find an abandoned food stall and grab something to snack on. He tossed a madu to Elithes with his tail and cracked another against a wall to get at the juice. Once he was done (and after wiping up a bit - he wasn't a barbarian, after all) he mused partly to himself, "I did not even realize how thirsty I was, y'know that? These adventures are great, very good for the body, but I'm starting to wonder if I should just quit while I'm ahead. Retire to simple mercenary work. No complex plots, no world-threatening disasters, no diabolical masterminds; just a nice, simple job on Stelt or Xia." He tossed the empty madu over his shoulder, where it pegged a passing Feranaki's head neatly. "Nah. I'd go crazy inside an hour. C'mon, let's go steal stuff while there's no one to stop us."-=H-D=-IC: Theron | CityEventually Theron was forced to stop hacking and slashing at the endless hordes of Feranaki. Oh, not because he was tired - it just turned out the hordes weren't so endless when he ran out of targets. Of course there were probably more elsewhere in the city, but he allowed himself a few moments to breathe and regain his strength. After all, there was an entire Guild (morally dubious but undeniably effective) out fighting them in addition to the enigmatic mechanical beings obliterating them by the dozens. He could afford to take a little time to rest, recuperate and prepare....There, ten seconds was more than enough. He did still have a duty. The massive Toa hefted his blade and went out in search of another 'endless' horde to end.=H-D=
  3. IC: Keran | Sakrinil | Toa Council ChambersThe Toa of Air strode into the dining hall completely refreshed and ready for a new day. Others - even his fellow Le-Matoran - often questioned just how he could have that much energy in the mornings, even if he only got a few hours' sleep. To him it was a matter of perspective. If you woke up every day expecting it to be the same as yesterday, or dreading what it would hold, then you'd slouch and slump and put things off. He was an optimist. He just felt better about the day.None of which seemed to help his fellow Toa, some of whom seemed even worse about their mornings then the folks back home. Ah, well. They'd be fine after breakfast.^^H-D^^
  4. OOC: Well, since Yasoth apparently found something better to do...IC: Keran | Sakrinil | Midnight (retcon)"Yeah, jungles are pretty great. Always something going on somewhere, even if you've seen a lot of it before. An... an..." He yawned loudly, suddenly looking quite tired. As if he'd just run out of steam. "And I'm tired now. Been a hectic day. Those beds inside sound pretty nice. C'mon." Without waiting to see if Astral would follow he turned on his heel and strode inside the Council chambers to find his bed. And if he couldn't, he'd just use another. Whatever works, really.MorningThe Toa of Air stretched out, yawning loudly, as the sleep finally began to desert him. It had been a good night, all things considered. Now to hope today turned out to be just as good. With that cheerful thought in mind he got up out of bed, still stretching out his back, and went wandering around the Toa Council chambers, looking for something to do, someone to talk to, or just whatever crossed his path.^^H-D^^
  5. IC: Keran | Sakrinil"Telom," he answered. "It's this little island a long ways north of here, mostly jungle. I was a scout, but they kept telling me off for leaving my post and just running. I say don't hire a scout who doesn't want to move, but they never listened. Well now I'm a Toa and they're not, so I guess I win." He stopped and looked over Astral's shoulder. Another Toa? Crazy. How many are there on this island? She was also kind of hot, but he tried not to think about that. Instead he smiled broadly and waved at her. "Hey! The Council Chambers're over here. I mean, if you were looking. Not easy to find in the dark, right?" Hopefully it was dark enough that the sign behind him wouldn't be immediately visible. ^^H-D^^OOC: In case it was unclear, the 'Toa' would be Yasoth.
  6. IC: Keran | SakrinilKeran blinked. "...Well thank you for that." He seemed to consider something. "Y'know conversations usually consist of more than one guy questions, other answers. Go on, ask me something. Anything."^^H-D^^
  7. IC: Keran | Sakrinil"I can't get enough of the place," Keran confided. "You can just climb up anywhere and start running. All these buildings make for excellent terrain, it's even better then the jungle-" He stopped suddenly and yawned, apparently no longer able to suppress it. "-and I have been doing that all day. Tired now. There's beds inside, right?"^^H-D^^
  8. IC: Theron | CityFrom there it wasn't even a battle in any true sense of the word. It was cleanup. A messy cleanup, but cleaner than having them swarm everywhere. Theron's blade was like a scythe reaping crops. Feranaki fell in droves, cleft in twain, incinerated, beheaded, crushed and at one point impaled four at once, after which the added weight was used to turn the sword into a club until they'd all been shaken off or disintegrated by the repeated impacts. Of course the Feranaki tried to fight back, but most of their attacks didn't even make it to his armor before he struck them down. The elemental assaults were absorbed and redirected almost immediately. All in all, he would come out of this horribly messy and somewhat battered, but very much victorious.=H-D=IC: Srizz | Citadel"I will, thank you," Srizz replied with mock dignity. Then he laughed aloud, something he felt he didn't do often enough. Elithes, he decided, is all right. Granted he often liked Matoran who could actually fight. They started out with even less than he did, not only being powerless but physically unimpressive, and got past that in a way he just had to respect. Elithes might be a bit moral for his liking, but he never bothered Srizz personally about not having the morals of a jaga. "I never had a chance to eat after the match," the assassin remarked suddenly. "C'mon, let's grab something while there's nobody alive to charge us." -=H-D=-
  9. IC: Keran | SakrinilKeran grinned. "That is exactly what happened to me! Well," he amended, "I was running, but same thing. Just more fun. I actually just got off the boat yesterday - day before? What time is it? Whatever, I've only actually been here once. How're you finding this town?"^^H-D^^
  10. IC: Srizz | Citadel"Wait, I thought Ruaki was- Ech, this is why I'm not religious. Can't keep up." He paused and looked out the window, up at the sky, then spoke loudly and clearly: "I will be rewarded extremely handsomely for helping to save the universe." He glanced back at Elithes. "What? It's not that unreasonable. Give it time."-=H-D=-IC: Theron | South DistrictTheron nodded slowly. "I suppose identification can wait." He straightened up and hefted his massive blade again. "Back to battle then. For the Great Spirit!" And with that he charged off in a random direction that seemed like it would have more Feranaki than mechs blasting at them.=H-D=
  11. In my humble opinion (pff, humble, yeah right) there is exactly one and only one problem with the series, and that is the number of consoles it's on. The actual games are just amazing.H-D
  12. IC: Theron | South District"Nothing that I have ever seen," the Toa answered, sounding a tad grim considering these certainly looked like glad tidings. He wasn't one to count his blessings until he knew who sent them. =H-D=IC: Srizz | Citadel"Convenient," he agreed as the explosions echoed across the city. When Elithes brought up the Feranaki, though, he just looked surprised. "Us? What for? The universe is saved. We're not in imminent danger of... whatever would happen if it weren't. I say dig up a trophy to prove we saved the day and cash in on the resulting fame and, more importantly, fortune. After someone else mops up the Ferana-" It was at this point that the ships decended from the sky and began blasting away at the Feranaki, to Srizz's utter astonishment. "Am I... Am I coming down with some kind of prophetic powers? I can not be associated with Mata-Nui. I'd never live it down."-=H-D=-
  13. NPC: Ultionis bit back a sigh. Well this was a mess, but there was no taking it back now. "When I ran off after the scream, I think No-One stayed behind to focus on the wall. If we're ditching stealth we could just go through it. Wood's rotten in a lot of places, and it shouldn't be hard to find a weak spot and blow it open. They probably already know we're here anyway."(H-D)NPC: For the first time since entering the bar, Carapace's voice came in on Gadgeteer's helmet. "He's not bragging. Those capable of regeneration frequently have high pain tolerance thanks to their powers allowing them a greater disregard for their own safety in combat. Torture is unlikely to reveal any worthwhile information. If you did cross his pain threshold he would tell you anything to make it stop, truth or no. Note his choice of words. I suspect he wants to speak to someone he thinks will understand his position. With a bit of diplomacy you might be able to get something more accurate from him."{H-D}
  14. IC: Srizz | Citadel"Yeah, heartwarming." Despite the sarcasm and eye-rolling, Srizz was smiling if you could read it. Whether that was at the outcome or some joke on his part depends on what you want to believe. "But it does occur to me that while we did our job fine, it seems like we'd know somehow if Ruaki or Rhashahk or Lyxek or whoever actually was dead by now. Think the other teams're dead or something?"-=H-D=-IC: Theron | South DistrictTheron nodded solemnly. "You did all you could," he said, "but the beasts were beyond saving. Whatever they once were, those beings suffer no longer." He looked out to the rest of the city. "The battle is not over. There are still many more, beasts and criminals both, tearing this city apart. We should devise a plan of attack."=H-D=
  15. NPC: It was at this point that Ultionis made his appearance. "The shapeshifter bolted," he whispered to them. "I managed to follow him about a hundred yards, but he lost me in the undergrowth. Now my turn: I know I'm a bit new to psychic communication, so I might've screwed up the signal, but I'm pretty sure I said 'help us get over the wall quietly' not 'drop everyone in and abandon the stealth part of this stealth operation.'" He did not seem happy. Granted that he never seemed happy, but this still stood out. "So always assuming I did send that right, may I ask what the h*** you all think you're doing on the ground this early?"(H-D)
  16. IC: Theron | South DistrictTheron wrenched his blade from the corpse of the last Nakari he had slain and strode over towards Tyis. "The deed is done," he said as gently as he could. "Are you well, warrior?" Admittedly, knowing who this was, he felt more than a little uncomfortable speaking to him without disdain, but he had performed... well. His actions had made this victory possible. He deserved that much.=H-D=IC: Srizz | CitadelSrizz had moved to a new perch. There was a window in the Citadel wall that, after some testing, was confirmed to be structurally stable. It also afforded a wonderful view of the little fight going on below. He didn't interfere, of course - you had to know when your intervention would cause more harm than good. But it was fun to watch anyway. That said, if it took too long he might just kill the mind-controlled one and screw his orders. Sure, Senshou would be upset, but didn't they have a universe to save? He was pretty sure it wasn't saved yet. Could well be the other teams were dead. Paid to at least check in.-=H-D=-
  17. IC: SakrinilKeran looked behind him, up at the sign. "What? Wait- Wasn't I just sitting there?" He was. He may not be the most astute but he never misjudged a jump. Slight push upward to assert control, fall to the ground directly, legs bent and braced for impact. "...Drak." He shook his head. "Well, whatever it is they wanted me for, they're probably asleep now anyway. Bet they'll have forgotten all about it in the morning. What brings you here this late?"^^H-D^^
  18. IC: SakrinilKeran glanced down at the street and smiled. Another Toa? Wow, there were not this many back home. Actually, there was only one back home... Eh. "Just tired," he responded. "I've been running back and forth around this town looking for the Toa Council chambers. You'd think they'd have a sign or something." He hopped down past the sign, landed a few feet in front of the newcomer and extended a fist in greeting. "My name's Keran. I'm new around here. You?"^^H-D^^
  19. IC: Keran | Sakrinil Docks | Before NightfallKeran raised a hand. "Pass, thanks," he said, smiling. "Adventure's great, but I don't think I could stand the cabin fever. And plus the Toa Council wanted me around here and-" He stopped, eyes widening in horrified realization. "Oh sweet Mata-Nui!" He yelled, turning to look out at the town. "I was supposed to be at the Council chambers an hour ago!" Without further ado he hopped up onto the railing around the edge of the ship and leapt from there out onto the docks, where he turned back around to wave and added hurriedly "Good luck on your adventure-thing!" And then he was gone with the wind. Nighttime"I. Am. Sooooo. Lost." He'd said it a hundred times tonight and, as he sat on the edge of a building somewhere in the middle of Sakrinil, he knew he would probably end up saying it a hundred more. He felt like he'd run the length of the rooftops in this town twice already and still had no idea where the Council chambers were. "Why couldn't they be bigger?" He whined to himself (probably - it was nighttime and no one else seemed to be around. "Or have some kind of big sign saying 'Toa Council Chambers!' But noooo, Toa are humble. We don't need palaces and mansions and cool stuff like that...grumblegrumble... Vamden gets a palace...grumblegrumble..."The Toa of Air kicked his heels at a sign that, completely unbeknownst to him, stated 'Toa Council Chambers' in large, elegant lettering.^^H-D^^OOC: So yeah, open to interaction to anyone hanging around the Council chambers at nighttime... for whatever reason.
  20. IC: Keran | Sakrinil Docks"This place is a regular Toa festival ground," Keran remarked. "Did someone put up a sign and I didn't see it?" He'd thought there were only four or five Toa the Council had deployed to this island. Seemed like they were all standing here. Maybe he'd heard wrong? He hopped up onto the vessel with the others. "So what's there to do on a ship? Do you guys just row all the time, or what?" He'd been on a small boat once before, to get to Yheyn. He'd nearly gone mad with boredom. If they were all like that, he'd stick to dry land and open sky, thankyouverymuch.^^H-D^^
  21. IC: Srizz | CityBy the time the explosion went off, Srizz was well out of the citadel. It paid to be selfish sometimes, since some of the others hadn't even come out. That said, the building on the surface was mostly still standing, so they might've survived, but he preferred not to leave his fate to chance. Looking down from a perch atop one of the few high buildings not blown to rubble, the assassin stretched out and wondered what happened next. Presumably, since she'd been willing to work with all kinds of rogues and shady types to save the island, Senshou wouldn't be overly surprised at his pragmatism and might not have a problem with him checking in to see if there was anything further to do to save the universe. He was willing - nay, happy - to leave someone else to die so he could live, but if the universe went, so did he, and he hadn't lost sight of that. -=H-D=-
  22. OOC: Is it? Drat. I'd already started out in Sakrinil... Well, now you've got customers anyway, I'll try something else. IC: Keran was just wondering what exactly there was to do in a town this size - aside from running across all these wonderful buildings, of course - when he chanced to hear a speech of some sort from a nearby ship. Something about 'lands unknown' and 'first outsiders to know of,,,' something. He didn't really catch the whole thing. Still, he stood by the plank leading up to the ship and clapped politely. "Nice speech," he said, loud enough that he ought to be heard on the ship. "Very, uh... Inspiring!"^^H-D^^OOC: That'd be Artorre's speech, in case ya didn't guess.
  23. IC: Srizz | Below the CitadelSrizz stood back a few steps. "Screw that," he growled. "I've saved your hide once in here already." Just at the moment when Sensha was stuck blocking a blow from Sanshou (or the other way round? Their names were so similar... The one blocking the way out was busy) he lunged forward and used his mask to shapeshift into a protodite, tiny and very fast. He zoomed past the guardian, shifted back to normal and yelled "You're on your own!" as he made his expeditious retreat down the tunnel and to safety...-=H-D=-
  24. IC: Keran | SakrinilThe jingling sound of a door opening and a potential customer entering interrupted Arkrak's personal symphony of boredom. Well, probably. Unless he was asleep or something. But it should interrupt most common- or garden-variety symphonies of boredom. It was a very loud jingle. Keran glanced up at the bells. "General store," he mused aloud. "I've always kinda wondered what people sell here."^^H-D^^
  25. IC: Srizz | Below the CitadelThe illusion vanished. No sense now. After all the anticipation built up around it, Srizz would've rather liked to stab someone, though he was willing to settle for getting out alive. But out of the corner of his eye he spotted something: Sanshou - the one who had brought them together in here - was being held back by Lurinost, who had apparently gone suicidal. She was also implying the two of them were in some sort of team with the Director. He really didn't care about the details, but there wasn't time to stop and fight. In the end he decided he had time to do just one thing: He dashed in as fast as he could (read: very, very fast) and sliced at the whip with his protosteel blade.-=H-D=-
