  1. Personally I think it's just another pointless novelty gift. They know this gimmick worked once, so they just cleaned off some of the dust, made it HD and bam, new gimmick for them to make money off of.I don't plan of buying one. Already got a Wii that I never use, why bother buying another expensive paperweight.
Same here. About all I use it for is SSBB and a few GC games. At the very least the new console doesn't use Wiimotes. I got tired of detection issues and battery drain, and I had to hunt down a GC controller just to play.
  2. I don't know I was reading about the Primordial and stuff which was a gravemind, and its conversations with the Didiact and stuff, and it said that the flood and the Precursors were one in the same but did not explain how. Which is pretty confusing, and that humans were meant to take up the mantle not the Foureunners.
I suspect that the Flood are actually a stage of Precursor life, and that perhaps the Gravemind we've seen in Halo is actually a larval/early stage? The Gravemind in the Forerunner era was described as an arthropod like creature similar to a Sea Scorpion, and in Primordial it's described as looking like an ugly spider or beetle like thing. That could explain how they are one and the same...however, the Didact also makes a comment, if I recall correctly, implying that the Primordial is merely mimicking a Precursor. It might be a fake. That said, it sounds like we will learn how the flood were created in Silentium....With that in mind, I noticed a flaw in my theory about the flood/precursor connection: Silentium states the flood were created 10 Million years ago. The other two books imply the Precursors are at least a Billion years old, so clearly they came into being before the flood.
  3. Man I really need to read the Forerunner books it seems. Halo Legends featured a bit about how the Forerunners brought the humans back to life after the Halos activated and wiped out all life on the galaxy was pretty cool. But as for religious overtones... we have the flood... (never realized the connection till now) and we have the Ark XD.Who is this Legendary Organon? Also I read some of the terminals in HALO CE anniversary.... but I never knew they had them in Halo 3! I need to replay Halo 3 now and find them all! And read them!
Oops, my bad. The Organon is a "Legendary Precursor Artifact", not a person (forgot to spell check, lol) according to the Bornstellar-Didact. It supposedly has the power to control all Precursor artifacts... Currently, it's state is unknown, and there are currently no named or described precursor artifacts. But in regards to the Human/Forerunner connection, I think it's Ironic Humans and Forerunners were the greatest enemies. It makes me wonder if this "Reclaimer" trilogy will be about reclaiming the lost power and technology of ancient humanity, not merely grabbing Forerunner artifacts.Also...

This is massive speculation, but I have this horrible suspicion the flood might actually BE a Precursor artifact (an organic one), and that perhaps the Organon is connected to them? They wouldn't bring up a unique artifact in the book, and just drop it.

The Composer might be another Precursor Artifact.... I'm still not sure it's Forerunner.

  4. I thought the book put it that it was more likely to be the Precursors, though I am not sure where in the book that was in terms of page or chapter numbers. I think it was when they were leaving Reach, but I am not that sure.
I do recall that, but we have to remember that as far as we know, Humanity is unaware of the Precursors at this point. Also, Forerunner and Precursor both mean "one that comes before", so they might have just been using it to mean the Forerunners, as it was found in a Forerunner Ruin that wasn't shielded from the Neural pulse from the Halos. (Assuming it follows how all precursor tech is vulnerable to the Halos)That said, I'm still curious about the Crystal's actual purpose and use.Still, does anyone think we could find a living, breathing Precursor in the future? I'm curious about Primordial, and the fact that it was revealed to have

marooned on an ancient proto-planet at the edge of the Galaxy... I wonder if the Precursors had a fallout among the survivors? Also, I'm curious if they were all one race? Finally... I wonder what became of the Legendary Organon...

  5. You are most definitely a hardcore Halo fanEDIT: Reading back I don't think I even fully understand what Precursers are, something pre-Forerunner? Site with inappropriate content removed. -B6
Cryptum and Primordial Plot spoilers ahead The Precursors are a god-like race responsible for life in the Milky way, and they were personally involved in the creation of Humanity and the Forerunners. It's also believed that they created the Flood. A being that claims to be a precursor, "The Primordial one", is encountered in Halo: Cryptum and Halo: Primordial. Of other note is that they are the origin of the whole "Mantle" philosophy that the Forerunners so revered. It's stated that eons ago, long before the first firings of the Halo rings (Possible several million years before), the Precursors deemed the Forerunners unworthy of guiding the galaxy, and tried to eradicate them. The Forerunners, ironically, somehow defeated them and forced them from this galaxy (The Precursors are said to be Trans-Galactic, so they likely have a presence elsewhere to this day) At a later time, the Precursors, still active from beyond the rim of the Galaxy, sent the flood to test an ancient space faring humanity. The true form of the flood, apparently, was white powder It was discovered in the wrecks of several derelict automated ships. Ironically, the humans were initially very suspicious of mysterious white powder, but the early tests seemed to suggest to them that it was some sort of personality enhancing substance. Used on human livestock and pets, it improved their genetic quality, personality, and appearance. However, some 300 years later, the inert organic molecules in the bodies of the pets and livestock suddenly turned cancerous, and the herbivorous creatures exposed to it suddenly started to mutate and eat each other. Humans unwittingly ate infected creatures, and themselves became infected. *Note*However, it seems that while the flood rapidly manifested itself, humanities lower tech tree seemed to protect them somewhat from a flood spread, as it was isolated to human and "Prophet" owned planets. In a race to escape the threat, the humans and "Prophet" race worked together to invade Forerunner controlled space for resources, and they promptly fought a 50 year war against the Forerunners and lost. However, before they had lost, the flood apparently deemed the Humans in particular as "Worthy" and stopped infecting them, even going so far as to flee the systems they had invaded., hence the Forerunner myth of a secret, human developed "Cure". To sum things up, the humans and "Prophets" got owned by the Forerunners, and since none of the original white powder or any flood forms remained, the Forerunners dismissed the humans as savages and devolved them, forcing them to live on their last planet.... Earth. Most Forerunners forgot about the warning, and hundreds of years latter, the Flood once again returned and mopped the floor with the Forerunners. In the second invasion, it was revealed that humans had in fact been advised about the flood by an ancient being in a mysterious stasis cell, and later on, the Master Builder of the Forerunners releases and allies with said creature, Primordial. Oddly, it also seems that the creature is in fact a Gravemind, but it's not clear if it was an infected precursor, if the flood are actually a stage of precursor, or if it was lying about what it was.As of "Primordial"

The Gravemind/Primordial One was working with the Rogue AI Mendicant Bias (The AI's story is present in Halo 3's Terminals) on the Ring #07. In the end, the Didact "Kills" the thing, but Primordial states that "another servant" will be "Released" to test humanity in 100,000 years.

  6. Oh yeah, I love Pete Stacker too, oh and the Aussie is PFC Chips Dubbo, I hope they are both in the game, but out of the two I want Pete to be in there the most. Wouldn't it also be sweet if they were both Spartan IVs?
Well, seeing as Spartan IV's are made up of former ODSTs and the best of the UNSC forces, it would only make sense. And Ha, did we ever get an explantation for Dubbo's escape from Halo?
  7. He means the event itself, though I'm still skeptical. You can trade your guy over.
So wait, they have an ingame event in B/W for a pokemon that's exclusive to a sequel? That's new... I didn't think they had reverse compatibility, but then again, this is really just B/W 1.5. With Glaciers.
Hello? What is that supposed to mean? It's an entirely new game, just because they didn't expand the Pokedex doesn't merit itself as a sequel to you?
Lockbox? What event was that for? But yeah, I remember the Azure flute. As for the sequel, I'm just getting a weird vibe from pokemon nowadays. It used to be two main games and a premium version (Ie, Yellow/Crystal/Emerald/Platinum) I had been hoping that the next games would have been a "Grey" or a Sapphire/Ruby remake, much like HG and SS. In this one, we already have a remake of the same region, just with a redone local, pokemon spawns, and an ice age. This is a first.
  8. The Precursor theme has been present since Halo 2...
Did they mention them that far back? I do remember t
See this is why Halo 4 is going to be badHalo 1-3 had this whole 'well humanity is hosed', what you described is 'well we made up some stuff now its hosed too' nobody cares about something we can't relate to
What? They long hinted at the precursors, especially in Halo 3, though I know a lot of casual players seemed to have missed the terminals, as well as the books.. Requiem? We've know that such planets exist since 2006's Ghosts of Onyx. And who didn't ask "Where did the Flood come from originally, since they were stated to be extra galactic"?
  9. He means the event itself, though I'm still skeptical. You can trade your guy over.

  10. Well, finally got my PC back. (Stupid power supply)... Seems the debate got buried. Hmm.Obtained Hearthfire, and I have to say, it's incredibly useful for Alchemists. Just make sure to bring loads of Iron Ingots and buy tons of wood from the Wood mills (200+)

  11. Events of Halo 1-3 were minor?HELLOARE YOU SERIOUS
Yes, in the greater scheme of things. Especially when you consider the fact that at one point the flood had consumed thousands of worlds, hijacked trillions of ships, and had armies that were as numerous as the sand in the sea. As opposed to an outbreak in High Charity, a small section of earth, the Lesser Ark, and two Halo Rings (three if you count that 07 might still be infected)Now, we have to deal with a potential 400+ Shield Worlds (each containing massive power capable of amazing, but more practical, destructive power), the Greater Ark (yes, there's another one), a potentially revived forerunner Empire, and the shadowy threat of the godlike Precursors and whatever lifeforms they've created or subjugated in the past 100,000+ years outside of our Galaxy, as well as the truth about the flood's origins. Halo 4's theme is a "Universal Threat", not the original trilogies "Galactic threat". I think we've only had a taste of what's to come.
  12. The joke console that is slipping is pretty much sold out of preorders everywhere. ;) Oh well, haters gonna hate.
Wait, what? D= Dang it, there goes my plans to get one any time in the next year, then...
Pretty much every console sells out when it's first revealed. The 360 was pretty hard to get for months.I personally hope they release a console Golden Sun, a new Star Fox, a Fusion-Era Metroid, and obviously the much anticipated Super Smash Brothers IV.
  13. I always found it depressing that only elites and eventually brutes could be infected? What about grunts, Jackels, Hunters etc.
Hunters don't have a central nervous system to infect, and grunts and jackals were too small and frail to be useful as combat forms so they were either turned into carrier forms or directly absorbed into the collective Flood biomass.
I think we will, because the being known as Primordial said Humanity would be again tested in 100,000 years. We're due.
You don't think our test was what happened in the events of Halo 1-3?
Actually, Jackals and Grunts were infected on the Halo Wars Shield World, which was considered canon. They can be used when prey is lacking, they just are very weak. As for Hunters, I'm sure they can get infected by the flood fungus, but I doubt they'd be used for anything other than biomass, seeing as they lack a central nervous system. As for the "Test", No, I don't think a "minor" flood outbreak is the real threat. I think something very nasty will arrive from the edges of the galaxy.
  14. I really don't think we will encounter Flood in the next official game titles.Everyone's sick of them. Why make yet another game about the Flood?
I think we will, because the being known as Primordial said Humanity would be again tested in 100,000 years. We're due. And when you consider the fact that it's heavily implied they created the flood to test the Forerunners and Humanity, it makes sense. Bungie and 343 wouldn't introduce the Precursor and their nefarious goals involving the flood, and just randomly drop them. I think Silentium will explain a bit more, as it supposedly will detail the creation of the flood 10,000,000 years ago outside of the galaxy. I also don't think the Forerunners will be the true ancient evil.As for how the Spartan's look, they might not have infection forms because they could have been infected by another means. The Halo Graphic Novel, Halo Wars, Cryptum and "The Mona Lisa" all state that it's possible to be infected via bites, physical contact with the infected, and even infectious airborne spores. Infection forms are merely one way to infect, and they often get mistaken by the fandom for the actual "Spores", which can be observed in the Halo CEA terminals, or seen in Halo 3 on the level "Cortana" flitting around in the air as little seed like objects. Also, I'm wondering if another Precursor, or the "Servant" mentioned in Primordial will be contained in the planet?
  15. Personally, I liked the Bohrok the best, as they represented the first true organized enemies the toa faced, and the Krana possession factor upped the danger factor they offered to Mata Nui. Likewise, I was fascinated by the mechanics behind the different types of Krana and the unique "Honey Comb" structure of the Bohrok canisters...
