Seeing as I missed it yesterday....

    1354 Dino Head Attack

Description: Released in 2000 at a retail price of about 12 dollars, today this set sells MISB for about 20 bucks. Part of the studios line, the set contained 86 parts and 2 minifigs.

My take: This looked like a neat set, it seems rather comical, I am sure when combined with the movie maker set you could make some amusing scenes. Never did get it though.

Well, I just reserved my room for my 2 day and 3 night stay at brickcon. 216 dollars later, I am all ready to go!

Ill be boarding at the Travelodge by the Space Needle, the Hampton, which is recommended for the convention, was sold out allready! Ah well, I have always been a bit of a loner anyway! Hopefully they have wifi so I can keep you all updated via the blog!

Wow, another milestone, have I really posted 50 of these things allready!

    9748 Droid Developer Kit

Description: Released in 1999 at a retail price of about 70 dollars, this has become a collectors item, like most all things Star Wars and now sells for about 130 dollars. Containing 657 parts and a CD, this was the dawn of mindstorms. The programmable scout brick would be the first of many to come that offers a new kind of interaction with a lego set.

My take: Never got this one, sure do want it though. Lots of nice electric parts in this set. The white technic panels, micro scout brick and R2-D2 dome could prove very useful.

I plan on bringing the camera and having full updates from brickcon in the blog, so stay tuned and you might get some exclusives!

    5580 Highway Rig

Description: Released in 1986 at a retail price of about 40 dollars, this set became a big collectors item and now sells for about 500 dollars new and sealed. Containing 667 parts, this was one of the first sets using system on top of technic. Part of the Model Team line.

My take: I had this set, complete, and lost it in time. So sad, good memories though!

I also have several other MoCs I plan on bringing, possibly my BBCC 55 entry and a few other goodies. I might even put up prizes, who knows? I look forward to the event, meeting new people and putting some faces to a few of the people from BZP that will be attending. I will only be able to attend for the 1st and 2nd of October, but thats better than not right?

I have it at last, once I get my PSP charged, since I have not played it in awhile, I should be able to experience it. Does anyone else have it yet? What can I expect for both single player and online play? Ex-Death and Terra are probably my favorite characters.

Also, picked up a couple Gold Heist sets, one for me and one for sale! Nifty parts selection in these sets!

Lets discover the Arctic this week:

    6573 Arctic Expedition

Description: Released in 2000 for a retail price of about 12 dollars, today it goes MISB for slightly more, about 20 bucks. Containing 111 parts and 2 minifigs, this set was part of the system arctic series.

My take: I like the minifig accessories in this set, like the blue globe and parka, though I am not sure why there is a trans green spider to be found in the arctic!

Came in today, still getting used to the widscreen monitor. Its a Dell of course, Inspiron with AMD PhenomX4 at 2.8 gigs. Still getting used to Vista as well, the internet browsing speed has increased quite a bit over the last computer.

So yes, I can finally view videos and stuff again! No more running IE without add ons, hooray!

This marks the weekly return of the featured set spotlight, 2000 or older, new entries will now be posted on Fridays. I delve into the dawn of lego RC with this...

    5600 Radio Control Racer

Description: Released in 1998 at a retail cost of about 35 dollars, this item sells MISB today for about 80 dollars, a bit of a collectors item. Containing 293 parts and 1 minifig, this was the first RC racer set produced.

My take: Looks fun, but it is rather tiny. Still I bet it is light and pretty fast, I wish I had gotten it now.

Picked up this set, used and complete, in order to push forward with my RC vehicle project.

It has all the parts needed for my other motor with red wheels, which features a light. In the end I hope to have a customized RC vehicle, that works with power function parts in some way, perhaps a rotating chaingun or maybe a firing mechanism of some sort. I was pleased to see that most of the parts are directly compatible with technic pins/beams, this will make things not only cheaper, but easier. Look for updates to come soon!

Nice to see the forums back online, very nice. I must personally thank the staff for bringing us back up, your dilligence has paid off at last. I sure hope this is the end of the nonsense going on here, I will do all I can to ensure the security of the forum and so should all of you. I sure have missed blogging and critique!

Now then, to address things. My contest is still on, there will be an updated entry with a new deadline and a list of all currently entered. During this downtime alot has happened, both online and off. I have realized who are my friends, and who are my enemies, hopefully I can strike a balance between both, but I doubt it. One way or the other, I will end up having to make an important choice, which will most likely end up in some sort of backlash. I know the right decision to make, I just need to make sure the timing is right.

Lastly, change your passwords everyone, change them often! It is one of the biggest keys to keeping this place secure, and all of us are able to do it. Good to be back!

Wow where to start. Vacation was a blast, there must have been thousands of people on the beach, lighting fireworks till the wee hours of the morning! There was a cloud of smoke for miles! I lit off my lot and camped out on the beach, it was a ton of fun, the kid had a great time too! We stayed in this cozy little cabin house for 4 days, played cards, BBQed everyday and roasted marshmallows till our guts hurt! I could live like that everyday!

Now, onto the loot I got!

First up is lego of course, this is the Rebel Snowspeeder UCS set, never opened and in amazing condition, worth about 400-500 bucks!

Next up is my new favorite toy, Skeleton Claws! Yes they are real and extremely sharp! I broke off one of the skulls on the knuckles playing with them!

And last but certainly not least, Kex sent me these beauties, which really need no further ramblings, onto the pure awesomeness that is....

Expect some quality MoCs soon with these 2 wonders!
