"I'll help out with whatever you want, for the right price...." You heard it, I'm taking on space as the Han Solo knockoff wannabe smuggler Dash Rendar. He's so awesome LOL He's got a cool sidekick droid co-pilot named Leebo, and he is awesome too!

Ok guys and gals! I promised it to you, now its time to run it!

The Reikia are pretty much finished, but the Le, Ko, and Ga Reikia are WIP, and going to eventually get the same head treatments as the others. Its all a matter of getting the right Knights Kingdom armor. Heres how the contest will work.

You can choose to name all 6 reikia, or just choose names for whichever ones you want to name. You may enter once, but you can edit your entry if you are not satisfied. The contest will run from today, April 3rd, until midnight May 31. That gives everyone plenty of time to think of names for these vicious creatures of darkness.

The entry format for the contest goes like this:

    Ta= XXXX
    Ga= XXXX
    Le= XXXX
    Po= XXXX
    Onu= XXXX
    Ko= XXXX

The X's indicate where you type the name. BE SURE TO WRITE THE TA GA LE PO ONU OR KO, OR I WON'T KNOW WHAT REIKIA YOU ARE NAMING! Please only enter once, as you are allowed to edit the names in your post. I will choose on June 1st from the names that I like best from everyones entries. If I see double entries, your newest entry will be deleted, and you will be sent a pm to edit your post. I like names that dont look impossible to pronounce, and I generally like 3 syllables or less, although I am open to all names!

The rewward you will get if you win, will be recognition for winning, and also a special peice of Trials of Terror art that you can either accept as an online image, or have mailed to you. Your Choice!

Here are links to pictures of the Reikia for reference. Just a reminder that the Ga Le and Ko Reikia WILL be changing as far as their heads, and I will improve on their body details. They were kind of "rushed together" right before my trip. Enjoy the contest, and good luck to all!

    Ta-Reikia

    Ga-Reikia

    Le-Reikia

    Po-Reikia

    Onu-Reikia

I happened to thumb through my grandfathers recipe book a while ago, and I found an exerpt in there that speaks the truth so fine, that one could not take better advice as far as being happy in marriage.

I copied what was written, and have brought it here to share with you and your loved ones. Please take the time to read this, and do share it with your parents. They may find it a joy to read. I had to omit a few religious references so abide to the rules of BZPower, but ya get the jist.

Old Wisdom for all to share.

17 Points for a Happy Marriage

    1) - The very nearest approach to domestic happiness on earth is in the cultivation on both sides of absolute unselfishness.

    2) - Never both be angry at once.

    3) - Never speak loud to one another unless the house is on fire.

    4) - Let each one strive to yield oftenest to the wishes of the other

    5) - Let self denial be the daily aim and practice of each.

    6) - Never find fault unless it is perfectly certain that a fault has been committed and always speak lovingly.

    7) - Never taunt with a past mistake.

    8) - Neglect the whole world rather than each other.

    9) - Never allow a request to be repeated

    10) - Never make a remark at the expense of each other.

    13) - Never meet without a loving welcome.

    14) - Never forget the happy hours of early love.

    15) - Never sigh over what might have been, but make the best of what it is.

    16) - Never forget that marriage is ordained by ****, and that **** blessings alone can make it what it should ever be.

17)-Never be contented till you know you are both walking in the same narrow way

I read this exerpt aloud with my Man, and we about cried afterward cause it felt so beautiful to share.

Ahh yes, I have had the most wonderful 4th of July weekend ever! I was fortunate enough to be the sole pit crew member for my friend who built a custom drag bike from parts of practically every motorcycle make you can possibly think of. There are parts from harley davidson, suzuki, yamaha, kawasaki and more. The bikes powerhouse is a 570cc snowmachine engine, driving the wheel with a belt drive, eliminating the need to shift gears. The bike is insanely fast, and can run a quarter mile in the 12-13 second range. There are only some minor bugs to work out of it, as there were a few problems he had racing the strip. Being its only the second time he has raced the bike since it was finished, it performs Really well!
Heres a picture of the bike and its owner

There were some crazy cars there with massive horsepower! I will feature the big boys, and my track favorites right here in the blog! To see the rest of the pics, refer to the link to my maj gallery at the bottom of the entry.

BE SURE TO CHECK OUT THE GALLERY AND VIDEOS!

CLICK ON THE THUMBNAILS TO SEE BIGGER PICTURES!

I especially liked this car, and by the smile on its owners face, I'd say he likes it too! It ran some crazy fast runs!

Here is a car that should belong to BZP member Darth Vader........ And OH YES, is it ever so FAST!

The Grim Reaper is a track favorite. This car has raced for many years. It's pretty fast too

This teal Chevy Malibu ran fast runs, and is a real eye catcher!

Not to mention that the car it was racing did a Madd wheelie off the starting line!

This lady runs very consistent times on her snowmachine, and can be rather hard to beat. And yes, people really do drag race their snowmachines!

The infamous Alaskan Grizzly Nitro powered funnycar doing his pre-run burnout. They do their burnouts powered on alchohol, but when they do the run itself, they kick in the nitro fuel, and Oh buddy...... It shakes the very earth you walk upon when it runs, and it shoots fire out of the exhaust pipes! These cars travel about 300 miles per hour up to the quarter mile, and it is crazy insane! You just can't plug your ears hard enough when these cars run!

Arctic Thunder was a fast dragster! It ripped down the raceway

The Grim Reaper and the DooDah Coupe taking off of the starting line. Oh the wheelies!

And don't forget, that Mighty Mouse RULEZ! Not to mention the car was mass fast!

These are kids like you that drive these mini rail dragsters. The engines are about the size of a "ride-on lawnmower" engine, but they are massively sooped up!

    Google Videos!!!!

Alky's Burnout,Alky's run This car has so much crazy horsepower! A little too much...... The blower belt blew off the first time, and on the second run the car wheelied halfway down the track and hit the guardrail. It was Intense!

    Black T-Bird Funnycar

Dart Vader's Run I told ya it was fast!

    Corvette Funnycar

    Nitro Alters, Nitro Alters 2
All these nitro cars were insidiously Powerful!

I have been a ghost here, but decided to stop in and share some life with everyone. Things are rough financially and it is hard to concentrate on Lego, even though I am attending Brickcon this fall.

We went up to the lake last weekend and rode up high to a point named Ascension. Up around 5000 feet, it was gorgeous, and too warm to wear a jacket the whole day out riding. This is bliss and utter peace within.

So, as a few of you my know, my good ol trusty HP laptop blew up, no longer to be of service. A component int he motherboard that allows it to run off of AC power and charge the battery fried, so therefore, it got no juice in the caboose. I took it down to the shop and had it analyzed and taken apart, and so here it lies, in pieces. RIP HP, you were a good computer!

So, I was kindly lent a little laptop to use until I was able to go out and buy one for myself.....

So, I get back from Mexico, and Dean tells me theres a lil' Summ Sumthin' waiting for me at home. He had driven home to take care of a few errands before he left to work on the slope. I had spent that weekend in Anchorage at my moms house, so I was eager to get home to see what this so called surprise was. I was thinking ooo maybe its a big lego set or something!

So, I get home, and there's a box sitting in my living room that's the size of a carousel set.

    I open it..........

And there is a brand new BOOYAH super awesome white Sony Vaio laptop inside!

    This was my face....

Its such an awesome laptop! Its wayyyy faster and has a ton more memory and ram than my old computer could shake a stick at. Now I just have to get my old hard drive and put it into a dock so that I can use my photoshop CS3 suite thats on it, as well as access all my old files.

All I can say is a million thanks till the day I die Dean! You are such a generous guy! Never have I been given such an awesome gift by someone before, and especially so from my true love! I was not expecting it at all! O_O

    till the next blog.....

    BOOOOOYAHHHHH!!!

I went on a wood gathering mission with one of my friends yesterday. All was going well enough when I got there, other than the first dead tree that was cut did not come down, so there was a danger looming from above the whole time. We got a shorter stump cut up into rounds, and split for hauling off. Then, My friend spotted another tree that he could cut down to make the tree that was hung up fall, but due to an improper cut, this tree fell opposite the way it was supposed to, in consequence coming straight for me.

I ran back as fast as I could, but tripped on a stump, hitting square on my shoulder, and knocking my head hard enough to see stars. I had curled instinctively into a fetal position just as the leviathan came crashing down not two feet from where I was laying. If my legs had been straight instead of curled, they would have been crushed underneath the weight of the tree, and I probably would have either been seriously maimed or killed.

Either way, I feel like I have gotten a mild concussion from the fall, and am feeling rather sore and headachy. If I continue to feel this badly, I may have to go and see Abhud this week for some therapy.

All in all, the effort was not fruitless, and we both got a full haul of wood, but almost at a very dear cost.

I am lucky to not have gotten seriously hurt. It is a lesson I will never forget.

I picked up an entry form for submitting art for this years music fest poster, and the theme was "harvest", and whatever that may mean to an Alaskan, so I sat down tonight and for 7 hours (breaks included) I painted this. It's painted in Watercolor.

    Seiners Harvest

I hope I win the $50 and t-shirt. Winners art becomes the poster! Woot, wish me luck!

After being taken hostage I had passed out, and had the strangest dream.

Me and Green Guy were on top of a mountain, and he was cuddling this strange doll that looked vaguely familiar.

"What is that Green Guy, and why for pete's sake did you bring it here??"

Green Guy looked at me and said rather bluntly..... "Because I WUB him!"

Then I woke up, to something so incredibly horrid, that you will have to wait until the next entry to see it!

Finally, my Giant Rahi are all built! Just some minor touchup work left on them and their riders.

I can now concentrate on transforming the reikia fom their old dull selves into new, more menacing beasts. The elimination of Baksilvah means the addition of a Gold Reikia!!!! There will be more info as to why at a later time.

I may post some sneak peek pics as they are being built.... Stay tuned for great things! I'm gonna take pics of EVERYTHING at brickfest, and make a nice brickshelf folder out of it. Pictures of my display will be posted in The Inhabitants of Kaiva-Nui.

Well, It seems like things are going rather well for me lately. I got my taxes filed and paid on time, and I still have plenty of cash to get me by, and pay my other bills. Things just seem to flow this time of year....

My promotion to staff was a bit of a suprise. I certainly wasn't expecting it at all, let alone so soon. I like helping out around the site, and doing my part to help keep BZP a great forum!

Work has been crazy busy lately, and income is good! I'm also taking care of my friends dog. A big white german shepherd named Coda. Hes a really nice dog!

I'll get around to my pbzp, really.....

Don't Forget to Name the Reikia!

    like the Coldplay song,

"At the touch of a button, I can go anywhere I want to go".....

I will settle for nothing less!

Anyway, I want to get a new car, it may take a year or two, but dangit, I am gonna get one! 2010 Dodge Charger has gotten my attention. We rented one of these cars on our trip to Hawaii, and it is very spacious inside. The car handles nice, but the v6 version is wimpy. Its got no cajones.

Now then, the model I am going for is not the biggest most expensive $46,000 model with the 440 horse 6.2 liter Hemi (0-100 in 17 seconds! O_O)

I am going for the all wheel drive model with the smaller of the two Hemis at 5.7 liters, giving about 350+ horsepower. More than sufficient for my needs, plus it would be road handy and affordably insurable! Its an all wheel drive car, so it will handle superbly in my Alaskan homeland.

So yeah, here's the specs and pricing...

    I'm done!

To anyone who lives in Alaska, and especially Anchorage, my Trials of Terror creations will be on display at the Pack Rat Antique Mall in downtown anchorage for the whole month of April! All my giant rahi, and as many characters as I can fit in the case will be there! So, if you happen to be close by, why not take a look and check out my spiffy creations!

New models, and new revamps are going to be displayed here, so if anyone happens to Take Pictures, they get extra kudos bonus friend points from Roa. I'll post your pictures in the kaiva-nui topic as a sneak peek of whats coming!

There will be information detailing the collections presence in the Anchorage Press for April! Enjoy!

    EDIT:

The collection may possibly be on display for ANOTHER MONTH! I will make an official announcement if this happens. I also took some pictures. Granted, its hard to get good pictures through glass, but you can see all the characters in there! Enjoy!

Just because I didn't make it on my birthday, doesn't mean I'm not going to make it. I had a long day at work, and my job is tiring. I went to bed early, plus with time zones and all, east coast 12am comes 4 hours sooner than it does here...... Me No Lie To You All! It will still be a birthday moc cause its the first moc I make after my birthday.

I have a plan up my sleeve, and if I'm not too tired after work I will build tonight. Hopefully I have tomorrow off work, but thats no guarantee these days seeing as Rolf said he'd like Allen to work on mondays again (that was his day off), theres no reason why he wouldn't pull my wednesdays ......

Either way, don't give up on me yet! I am just getting settled back in after a long trip away from home! Also had some other not so goodstuffs happen, so gimme a little slack LOL
  15. Roa McToa
Woweee! I got blog of the week! How awesome! I certainly wasn't expecting it. I'm going to take some more pictures around Seward to add to my Seward Life entry. I have a lot of interesting pictures and things for all to see.

    Also, as a side note...

I am going to make an RC Super Venom Striker out of my manas and 2 striking venom sets. It'll be the ultimate exo-force mobile base!

Stay tuned for some awesome stuffz!

Hello all! Day three has passed, and my Bionicle display is all set up in the Space room, terrorizing all the star wars and space sets. Mwahahha! Sooner or later, a bionicle room will get set up, but for now, space will have to do. I get to Oogle the spaceship cockpit during the day. Of my rahi, I am displaying Vakatu & Krukoa, Boruka & Mirkatuva, Gulakai & Rayzaurak, Paruvak & Pakuudo, the Sea Scourge, and Yukizahk as well as my main character matoran and some assorted rahi. The Bionic fridge is there too, and Onewa and Nuparu are enjoying some kraatdogs.

My museum model is almost finished, and is looking haenous! I just have to finish its base and arms. Its going to be wormlike, but wyrmlike if that makes any sense. I used some crazy fusion on the back/spine and made use of a large, odd system piece. Its already weighing in pretty heavily, and should be fairly impressive once its finished. This model will remain on permanent display at the museum.

This opportunity may also extend itself into the future for me. As the museum continues to grow, they are willing to sponsor me as a builder and even send me components to build with! They want me to return next year, and may even fully pay my way here! That makes me happy to know that they love my work. So far, all the guest builders/LUG's absolutely love my work, and admire the talent I show. My attitude also goes well with it as I tend to be rather upbeat and in lego love/heaven.

I look forward to the show, and sharing my mocs with all the kids that are expected to show up this weekend. Saturday will be the big attendance day, and it should be a madhouse of fun times and lego building.

If you can make it, I'll see you at Brickshow!
  17. Roa McToa
Hello all! Brickfair was fun, and I had a really good time for the most part. Now that the convention is over, my posse drove back to chicago, but we made a stop at the Ohio toy and plastic brick museum in Bellaire. They are hosting a public build at the end of the week, and I was asked if I could build a special model for the museum. My plane was due to leave today, but the curator of the museum was willing to pay for the cost to change my plane ticket. Soooo, I accepted.

Getting the opportunity to build from the worlds largest privately owned Lego collection was too great to pass up. I am going to build a custom "non-TOTstoryline" version of a giant rahi with a Suvika rider. I started building around 3:00, and I am almost finished with the rahi's head. The absolute plethora of parts is absolutely mindboggling!

I will take pictures during the course of the week, and I will be sure to post a video of the museums Lego robot rock band from FAO Schwarz. It is SO AWESOME that it's too awesome! I got to see the models up close, and yes, they are people sized robots! They house some really neat models, as well as a world record size mosaic. Tis rather awesome!

This is going to be loads of fun, and I may be able to snag some really rare lego products and prototype stuff for use on BZPower as prize fodder. And when I say rare, I MEAN IT! This stuff doesn't exist anywhere else.

I will keep you all posted!
  18. Roa McToa
The build is coming along nicely, and I have finished the head, and started into the shoulders of the moc. I got to go to a radio station and do an interview about the brick museum, and Brickshow 2008 being held this weekend here in Ohio at the Toy and Plastic Brick Museum. There should be a good turnout. They are building a world record castle, and also hosting public building and coloring contests for the kids who attend.

I should be able to get the front legs for the rahi built today, and end it in a long wormlike tail. I will post pictures upon my return to AK, as I cannot upload pictures with my current internet connection. I will take lots of pics and videos of the moving displays. Dan told me that he has a large scale Avak brick statue coming to the museum in a few weeks. I look forward to seeing the pictures!

Several master builders have been invited to the museum to display their mocs, and I have been titled a master builder by the curator of the museum! I am happy that he sees my mocs as master work, and I'm looking forward to the public response. I have a feeling that kids will go nuts when they see my mocs on display in the space room. This museum is full of radical displays and would blow your mind!

Well, I gotta go for now, I will post my day 3 entry later today.
  19. Roa McToa
    So ah yeah,

I got the most awesome call today! I am being sponsored to attend Brickcon in Octoboer! ZOMG WHEEEEE!!!!

Possibly getting sponsored for Brickfair too! WOOT WHEEEEEE!!!!!!!

Hopefully I will make it to both conventions! WHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
  20. Roa McToa
Day one (early setup) of Brickcon has passed, and I have already gotten to see some amazing creations! My favorite in particular is my table neighbors 3.5 foot taall mecha godzilla with drilling hands, light up eyes, and an opening mouth. It is so awesome, that there aren't enough words to explain it. I will post pics later. The moonbase setup is going to be really awesome, as the Eiffel moontower showed up, and Wayne brought a ship factory built in modular style. Again, pure awesome. The totem pole has made its grand return, awesome as ever.

The Bionicle table is looking awesome! Thanks to the members who mailed in their mocs for display, for without you guys, the display just wouldn't be complete. I'm eager to see if anyone added anything more to the bionicle table!

And I would like to thank Imatron personally for sending in the rare masks I needed for the trophies. Thanks man!

I will post pictures of the con each day with an entry for all to see.

I'll also make an awesome NWBC news report for Shilo to post on the main page after the con is over.

And to all you BZP members who are going, I am easy to find.

Onward to the Official day one of the convention! Woot!
  21. Roa McToa
I'm getting ready to go on my Brickfair Adventure!

I am about 90% packed, and am flying out tomorrow night! I even picked up some grippy foam for helping in the setup of large models on smooth tables. Things tend to slip, and the smoothness of the tables limits poseability. My mocs are built for outdoor use, and tend not to grip onto tables too well. The foam should help any models that need a little extra grip.

I'm arriving in Chicago wednesday morning at a bright and early 5 am, and we are hitting the road from there. Were going to make a stop at the Toy and Plastic Brick museum, which houses the worlds largest privately owned lego collection! I am eager to see it!

If I'm really lucky, I will have time to visit the Smithsonian Institution! I've never seen it before, and I am told that its now 9 buildings big of massive artifacts and displays! I must gooooo..... dinosaurs woot!

Anywhoo, I am nervous about the whole thing. Especially the BBCC. I always make the drastic mistake of taking bad pictures of my entries, giving BZP a "not so good" view of my amazing moc. I know it got a lot of hype, but I am still nervous..... I guess that goes hand in hand with getting ready for a trip *_*

    Wish me luck!
