    Piraka, Tahu, Skrall, Takanuva.

Guess they were sold out of Rahkshi and Gresh, but I was too busy giggling to ask.

Was only gonna get three to stagger the purchases, but couldn't help myself.

Definitely one of the oddest concerts I've been too, given the surrounding events.

I missed Steel Panthers (some 80's glam metal band that isn't actually from the 80's) and Static-X (which was very disappointing, as I had wanted to see them), though we did catch a few chords wafting from the arena as we drove up. My friend's girlfriend didn't get off work until 3, which is why we missed them, but is k. Turns out said friend didn't even get to come, as he was invited to another friends going away party (which apparently I didn't get invited to? But whatevs). So in the end, it was his girlfriend (who is also an awesome person), her friend (who beats me a lot >>), her boyfriend, and the original friend's roomate (a nerd, but an amusing one). So, five people.

Saliva were on when we finally got to our seats, and they weren't too bad. I'm not a big fan of Saliva, they're just a little... generic. It wasn't bad or anything, just nothing to get out of my seat for. In the interim of Saliva and Chevelle, I saw three of my friends from school (who were apparently also not invited to the going away party), and another friend who I work out with, so it was kinda random, but awesome.

Chevelle was pretty amazing. The guys in front of us didn't like em as much, but whatever, they were fantastic. There was a bit of a problem with the mic at first, but it quickly went away. There was nothing super special about the performance itself, but the music played was fantastic, and really refreshing just to hear it played live. I recognized most of the songs, and they even played a song that wasn't a single of theirs that I really liked, which was amaaaaaazing.

After a break, Mudvayne came right out and just rocked the house. Everybody stood up right away, and they just dominated the entire arena. They played all of the fan favorite, Dig, Happy, Fall Into Sleep, and some older songs, as well as a new song from their new album. All in all, it was just a fantastic, it was basically what I go to those concerts for.

Then, there was supposed to be Slipknot. Unfortunately, the drummer, Joey Jordison, had been sent to the hospital, and Slipknot was not able to play. They told us that he was okay, and promised to reimburse us when they came back in a few months. That's the second time they've been hurt there. Last year at Mayhem Fest, the turntabilist broke both his legs. White River Amphitheater is an injury inducing place, apparently.

So, all in all, not too bad, and hopefully the drummer recovers. Free concert the next time they show up, so that's nice.

Just so you know, I DESPISE "The Eagles" and any song they've ever written but that is indeed -not- the point of this entry!

    I'm in Oregon. Woo.

D'aww, screw it, I'll do anything from May onward. If anybody has new information on such things, or recommendations, feel free to mention 'em.

You know what I just realized?

People always complain that Horatio has really awful puns... but Grissom has as many as H does >>. And his are usually worse. What's up with that?

I was looking back on old blog entries, especially the ones from last summer... I was so much happier back then D:

Life just isn't that fantastic right now. I graduated and all that (fun times with graduation night) and I'm done with school, but home life is just eh. I try to get out as much as possible, but my sister is just starting her new job, and took the car =/

On a very disappointing note, the only thing I got for graduation was one of the most useless things imaginable: a watch. I told my parents that I just wouldn't end up wearing it (I'm not a watch person), and they said that they would return it. Unfortunately, there was no guarantee of a subsequent replacement gift, so I'm left with virtually nothing (as opposed to my sister, who was showered with gifts and money by friends and family). I'm not an incredibly needy person, nor am I overwhelmingly materialistic; I just feel this odd sense of being owed by the universe for all the torture I've endured with school (academically, of course).

Aaaanyway, summer looks to be eh. Some good concerts I can hopefully go see, and birthday is there. Going to Ashland to view lotsa plays for the Shakespeare festival, then off to France with a couple of buddies (and my parents, of course =/), which should hopefully provide for some relaxation and fun.

Going to what used to be a community college (now technically a four year, but whatever) in the fall. I turned down the four year universities for... personal reasons, I suppose. I knew it would provide more of a challenge in my life, to be sure; I just didn't realize that my parents would abandon all pretense of liking me, and would set out to make my life a living nightmare. I don't regret my choice, but it's gonna be tough.

(dunno why I'm venting this much, as I never feel the need to, but I am, so get over it)
