"Weak? Stronger, I say, for I resisted the temptations you could not."

My take on the white alternate-universe version of Makuta for BBC Contest 78. One of the few interesting details that I enjoyed out of the serials otherwise ranging from forgettable to dreadful was the idea of an alternate good-aligned Makuta, and the ultimately canon depiction of him by BZP's own ToM Dracone was the best design there ever was out of the canonized MOCs. Given those, it seemed fitting to make him for the contest, as both standout moments for the story and BZP itself. Naturally, the build is based heavily on both the classic canonized version of him as well as the original Makuta set.

I really like this-the way you used the 4 white spike pieces is really inventive!

I've been on and off toying around with trying to make an Eye of Sauron/Barad Dur MOC and now I'm getting ideas....

    Very cool!

Thanks! Someone on another site called the MOC "good Sauron," but to be honest that wasn't a connection I'd made prior!

There's a second tube (3mm rigid) behind the gold flex axles that the rays connect to via an exo force clip. You can see it if you zoom in on the photo a bit :)

Yep, Cam is correct about the flex tube ring behind them. I tried to line things up to hide it as much as possible, but with a lot of things to line up here it does peek through in places.

In awe of the tininess of this lad's hands!

Also, I feel like edited-on eyes detract from the style a bit; brick-build ones would add a lot.

Thank you for your critique. :)

Happy to help! Listening to critique rather than dismissing or deleting it is important, but sometimes it feels like too many in the community don't realize that... thanks for showing otherwise :)

  5. Wow, looks good! Reminds me a bit of those little Hero Factory spiders

Thanks! Meaning like the little spider pet Black Phantom had? I actually don't remember too many HF spiders.

The abdomen's a bit long and the top of the head's kinda blocky, but the overall aesthetic's pretty solid.  I really like the eyes.

A little bit of blockiness inherent in building off the big CCBS paw piece, yeah... thanks for the comment though!

The liquid men of the deep are not to be trifled with — their weapons can douse a target at 100 paces, which causes the air-breathers of the land a great inconvenience. They also reek terribly of fish.

Entry for the Bio-Cup 2018 prelims theme of elements — for which this MOC represents water, naturally.
