  1. I guess if they're putting up so much stuff now they're preparing for a Christmas release of the sets. At least that's what it seems like. :P And Okoto... I wish they had different names than "Region of Whatever" but it does work to simplify things a lot rather than having to remember a completely different name.

  2. I really like the new Lewa set, but only from the neck down. :P His swords and weapons are pretty decent. If/when I buy him though he might permanently have a skull spider attached to his head, just so I don't have to stare at his mask. :P I think the yellow, green and silver combo works well, too, although I kind of wish the Protector's bow was either all green or green-yellow or green-transparent because the added blue doesn't gel with Lewa's colour scheme. But I'm just nitpicking. :P

  3. Getting Pohatu and not understanding how ball joints/sockets work and sort of giving up trying to build him for a bit, and then finally getting it. :P

And also building the Bohrok combiner with Nuhvok, Tahnok and Pahrak, was it? I remember it looked really cool and my mom commented on it being a little scary and it sat in the corner of my bedroom for a bit.

  4. Schoolwork helps, and other life things. :P Also the fact that I'm not that eager to buy new sets and get all involved again in the story. I'm excited, sure, but Bionicle will probably be more a side hobby and occasional distraction. BZP will eat up a lot of my time though. :P

  5. To be honest I was a little creeped out by the set because spiders aren't my favorite creatures world, so that's a good thing, I guess? :P As much as I'd like not to have a giant spider-shaped set hiding somewhere in my room (even though it only has six legs), the fact that it comes with the "gold" skull spider mask compels me to buy it... I must have all the gold masks

  6. Being able to charge more seems logical, but they could have just started charging more for smaller sets citing rising prices or whatever (though seems unlikely LEGO would do such a thing). :P I agree with Axilus that bigger sets allow for more creative designs and flexibility and the ability to add more articulation, improve pose-ability, come up with new part designs and just more parts in general. I would be (and was) happy to pay for all of the above. :)

  7. Onua is probably the second-most interesting set after Kopaka so I'm definitely going to buy him. :P I hadn't noticed/realized until now that you could combine the Protector and the Toa, so that was a nice surprise. Thanks for pointing that out, NM.

Overall, it was a pretty great review. Thanks for stripping him down to the basic structure, I was curious as to what he had going on under all that bulky armor.

  8. I kind of liked the Inika masks; they were a nice change from the usual rigid plastic ones we got before them, and they did a good job of seeming semi-organic. :P

As for my least favorite mask, that would have to be either the Mohtrek or the Felnas. Too limited usage in anything other than mosquitoes or beetles. If they were silver or something, that would have been fine. But they're not, so... :P

Also not a huge fan of the Volitak.

And if we're talking about the 2015 masks, then Lewa's hands down. Lewa's new mask is probably the ugliest across the whole series, IMO. :P

  9. Everything was good, but I guess I went through phases when it came to what was my favorite. :P The sets were first, because they are what drew me in. Story and lore (and sets) later because that's what kept me around and interested from ~2004 to 2008 or so, and the fanbase (and Axalara) towards the end because the story was too convoluted by that point and I didn't have the time or interest to keep up with it.

  10. I think now would be a good time to bring out this bad boy: :onfire:

I think Kopaka is definitely one of my favorite sets from the new batch. I'm not a huge fan of the stickers on the breastplates (this applies to all Toa) but here at least it seems to break the flow and fit with the rest of the colour scheme. I prefer the print to a solid gold block of armor which would just be distracting. The armor on the leg is a bit weird, his thighs look way too weak compared to his calves... But I guess adding too much bulk on there would make it hard to pose the sets. Also it's interesting that there's not "real" leg piece- it definitely adds more versatility which is good, but then again, I like standard leg pieces. :P
