I'm a little bummed they're not releasing the MoC in set form.. though there's probably still hope in the form of an unannounced set or in the next couple of years.. IMO it's one of the best looking masks out there.

Hmm. So far only one blatantly negative post. Perhaps BZPower is less closed-minded than I thought it had become since the BIONICLE Stars.

 

This story matches up with many of our predictions. A reboot that retains familiar characters and settings, but simplified for new fans. I wish it well.

Haha, yeah, I was kind of shocked to see all the positivity flooding in. Not the usual response when it comes to anything new that's announced. It's a nice feeling.

I have to say that I'm a little disappointed that Artakha wasn't the one wearing the MoC, but oh well, it's a reboot.

As awesome and exciting as this is, I believe discussion belongs in the official 2015 topic.

Everything about newTahu is great, but for some reason the silver feet are bothering me. D: Ruins the flow of colour IMO

Edit: I'm seeing a Rahkshi staff piece in use in Kopaka. Has it been out of circulation or has it been used in other sets since ~2003?

Hm.. I mostly like where this is headed. The art could have been a little more, idk, refined? But if I see more of it I think I can get used to it. I like the fact that they're going back to the bare bones of the 2001 story and with a new spin on it. If the story is completely different it's gonna get a little tricky keeping all the canon straight, especially with the same characters (in name, at least). Also tbh the "Mask of Ultimate Power" seems a little gimmicky lol

I definitely would like to see a line targeted at girls. I guess the only thing I can see being an issue is that the line would just have a lot of pink, purple etc. ("girly" colors) as the sole indicator that it is a line for girls. We don't need to play into the idea that pink things are for girls and blue for boys. What I would support would be Bionicle/Hero Factory like figures that may be shaped a little more "feminine-ly", and a majority of the characters would be female. Like just switch the genders around.

However, in an ideal world we wouldn't need separate lines for boys and girls, but just one line that represents both groups equally. I also agree with the above point that commercials should feature girls and boys both playing with lines such as Hero Factory or whatever.

Young kids would definitely be interested in Bionicle when it comes back and be eager to join a big fan community such as BZPower. I've seen my brother on a forum for minecraft or something so they definitely know what they're doing with the whole "find internet communities to talk about things you like" thing.

This was the thing I was most worried about, that there will be a large number of new fans, but they won't be flocking to sites like BZP, or really anything. They'd either just play with friends or perhaps go to more "known" sites. But who knows, maybe I'm just out of touch. BZP is still a small fraction of the actual Bionicle fan base.

It'd be great to see more members, definitely. I don't know how much the atmosphere will change but it'll be nice to have more discussions and whatnot.

I like it, but apparently it means "man" in Japanese? This may be a reach, but is it possible it's just a placeholder name till they finalize on the story details?

There are certain forums where posting will not increase your post count. Generally they tend to be ones where it would otherwise be very easy to inflate your post count, such as Games and Trivia where all responses are just one-word, essentially. Like some others here, I would also prefer that they make new music. If it has to be a cheesy rock song, then I wouldn't mind if Cryoshell made a comeback. They already have a working relationship with the series, they're familiar to fans and releasing new music could be a boost for them as well.

In an ideal world, Bionicle would have it's own soundtrack (instrumental, like for movies and tv shows and stuff), but I don't know how well that would work in reality. It's a toy line, so a proper soundtrack would probably be too much effort and may not actually fit with the medium (where would they even use it?). But one can hope.

Unfortunately, this seems like a very personal issue; if you want suggestions on how to build a Turaga or improve on an MOC, feel free to post your build in the BBC forums. You're bound to get a lot of helpful comments there. Maybe even put up a message in your sig for suggestions on Turaga builds?

I think the last book I read completely was 1984. I feel like I should have read it way earlier, but better late than never, right?

I was almost about to finish this sci-fi book called Red Mars, but I had to leave and I left the book behind so I'll finish that some other day. It has it's moments.

Right now, though, I'm almost done with John le Carre's "The Spy Who Came in from the Cold". Excellent spy novel, not very actiony which I don't mind because not all spies are James Bond. Just good old intelligence work. I was also in Berlin recently so it was nice to have that book along, it sort of fit with the mood and history of the place.

I didn't even consider the fact that pre-2001 story was a possibility, but now that I see it there, for me at least, that would be the best option. The Mask of Creation seems like a good way to segue into early BIONICLE history and it could also be a good way to allow newer fans to get familiar with the new story and have enough background to catch up with the old.

All this may have something to do with the fact that I didn't particularly like the last couple of years storyline on Spherus Magna, so anything that's not that would work for me.

As for the serials, I said they should be kept as side story.

I recently picked up Luftrausers from the Humble Bundle bundle. It's fun for a quick session, but now I'm at a point where I can only progress after destroying the blimp which showed up a few times in the beginning but hasn't for a while now. Anyone else play this game and face this problem?

I've also been playing Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken, which is fun enough and Hotline Miami, which is just... I don't know. I love it and I love the music but I'm also a little disturbed by it.

I had completely forgotten this set existed, but I just re-discovered it and remembered that I really really wanted it but was never able to get it. This is Toa Lhikan and Kikanolo. It was Lhikan riding a Rahi, can't get much better than that. He would have made up for my lack of Toa Metru single handedly.

I liked anything that was a quick and agile looking weapon, like Lewa's Air Katanas. I'm also partial to staffs/spears, so Iruini and Norik's weapons were ones I liked.

I have more complete collections for the years 2006-2009 than I do for earlier or later years. 2006 (or was it '07?) was my favorite so I own all the Piraka and Inika and Brutaka etc. After that, the Barraki is my next complete set and the Toa Mahri too I think. I don't have a lot of the big titan sets, especially from the earlier years.

But right now they're all just sitting in a cardboard box somewhere, never to be seen (unless I have the energy and space to put them on display again). Except Vamprah who's hanging around on my desk.

I could live with some minor changes to the interface, such as having the comments be displayed on the profile itself rather than under a separate tab. A cover photo type thing would be fun- it would offer a not too complicated way of personalizing your profile.

Episode 2 of season 8 of House. Which means I'll be done soon. I don't know how I'm going to handle that.

I think when I Googled "BIONICLE" this was one of the first few results that showed up. I would browse around a bit before making an account.
