  1.

You should try to make a Mask of Ultimate Power based on the images of the G2 Makuta titan builds, since the original guy who said he was going to seems to have dropped the ball on that.

My friend, it's been done. Many times.

None of those resemble the one seen in the pictures I’m talking about to the degree that I’m talking about.
  2. The only place I could find Uniter Tahu was Barnes & Noble, in case anyone is having similar difficulty finding that set.

Thanks for the heads up, he has been absent from every store I have searched.  I would have stopped and looked today but I got a cold.

    No problem.

I believe I finally got my Makuta right (besides the staff-top ball, which is on its way), after several reexaminations of the images provided.  There are several part choices, as well as placements, that are just barely shown, but I believe I found them all.  I made a couple assumptions as well as a couple alterations to my figure, though.  I used 4m axles with a stop on the end to attach the black bohrok eyes to his feet, so they wouldn't come off, because I thought they'd fallen off at one point.  I also added an extra bush to the other end of the axle connector inside the drill head, so it wouldn't try to slide up the axle it's on.

  3. I recently discovered that the images weren't auto-arranging correctly according to the numbers in the names, so I made each second and third number three digits long, before any letters, by adding one or two zeroes at the beginning.  I chose three digits because that's the longest that the number in either of those places gets, and I didn't have to do it to the first number because that one was only ever one digit.  That seems to have fixed the problem, so everything should be in the correct order now.

  4. I'm tempted to put them on Flickr in their own album, so I can keep adding to it and rearranging it as needed.  I just want to make sure there's nothing wrong with my doing that before I do it.

You don't need my permission lol, just do whatever you'd like to do. Just make sure to send me the link. :)

I don't mean I'm asking your permission, I mean I wasn't sure it was legal, but I'm just gonna do it.  I'll post the link to the album here when I'm done.

    Edit: Here you go.

  5. I've been saving them as well.  I was saving them by the QX number, but I renamed them based on the numbers in the corner in a #-#-# format that puts the pages in such an order that some full scenes have come together, and I really like seeing that.

Hey man, can you do me a biggg favor and do this batch for me?

Do what with this batch?  I can email you the files I downloaded and renamed if that's what you mean.  I didn't crop them, though, so you'll have to do that if you want.

  6. Wow, this is some cool memorabilia. That demo VHS is very cool. Would be cool to have some of this stuff, but I think I'll pass. Hope everyone saves these images, for archival purposes!

I'll be sure to get this round of images as well.

  7. Isn't this the first time in the entire franchise we've ever been given a clear, sustained image of a character unmasked?

(compared to Ekimu in the earlier animation, which was about half a second)

Lewa had a brief bit of masklessness in the MNOG, and then there's Tamaru basically mooning the Nuhvok.

There's also the original Toa animations, which while not fully visible were definitely prominent.  Then there's the Toa Mahri animation, which was just sort of weird.

I think he might have meant in this new story.

  8. The stand looks cool and all, but can't we just have the mask? :P

The stand fills a void that was left by Lego showing the various gold masks on display pedestals, in the animations, while the pedestals themselves weren't available, hence the desire to get more than one of this set and use the pedestals with different masks.

It would have been waaay better if they released an actual LEGO pedestal, rather than a cardboard one.

Agreed, but I'll take what I can get.

  10. Man, oh man. If this doesn't come stateside I'll be a salty sailor. I'm tempted to get like 10 of these things just to give stands to each of the golden masks so far.

That's what I was thinking of doing, too.  I don't have all the Toa, and I don't plan on getting them all, but I can use the stands to display whatever golden masks come out that I'm interested in, like the MoF I have, and the MoC I'm getting, and the one that comes in this set in the first place, plus the masks of control, time and ultimate power once those come out.

I wonder what those leftover tabs on the top and bottom are for.  They just look like weird leftovers to me.

Also, it seems like it would have been better to use one of the short axles with a stop at the end to build that, so you don't have to disassemble the whole thing if the axle starts sinking and you want to pull it up without risking pulling it all the way out.  They even make them in the length that seems to be used here (4M), though not in black, and they use them in sets to this day, so I can't even cite discontinuation of the part as the reason.

In addition, the propeller piece used below the cardboard seems like it'd be better if it was attached upside-down, so the flat side can be against the cardboard underside.  Why they didn't do that is also puzzling.

  11. I'm glad that they started uploading the full magazines, because I like downloading the pdf versions and splitting up the pages to put them with my other files from whatever theme the pages are based on.  For example, the DC comics in each successive issue seem to be related to each other, so I put the magazine comics and their club code sequels in line in order of release, and I'm thinking I'll combine all those files into one at the end of the year, once the storyline is complete.  That's one thing you can't do with the physical versions unless you want to make a mess.
