  1. That animation's from some old 2002 VHS tape that I think toy stores would play on TVs in the background. Very cool stuff, some of it unseen (like the Turaga Vakama animation I used). Here's a link to the file, though I don't know who the primary source is...

Is there a copy of that video somewhere that's in English? I want to know what they're saying, but I don't speak German (if that's the language it's in, which I don't know for sure because I don't speak it).

  2.

Grinder, mostly, if not only, for Ekimu and the MoC, is the only one I'm planning on getting.  If there was one that came with a mask of fire, then I'd get that one too, but there isn't.

Off Topic: Is it just me, or would Basher's mask in white make a good General Grievous face if you added the pieces on the sides of GG's face?  Just something I noticed when looking them up.

You make a good point, but I think Gen. Grievous is one of the Star Wars Constraction figures coming out later this year.

It'll be interesting to see if they make a new head or use that same mask.

  3.

New molds cost tens of thousands of dollars.  That, coupled with the promotion and logistics of finding a fan and pairing them with a designer, then having to focus-test the part and find a set to add it to, means that it's probably far less economical than the gold masks.  It would only be one prize, too, as opposed to the eight masks.

Wow, I did not know that.  I guess that explains why they've been using a lot of HF parts.

Now I want one of these suckers, even though I don't have any 2015 sets... yet.

They're not HF parts, HF was merely the first line that introduced them.  They're going to be used for the foreseeable future for any and all action figure building, because they were designed as a much more standardized and durable system than the original Bionicle parts, so unless people can get over their aversion to the parts that is based on the first line that introduced them, then they're likely to never buy another Lego action figure set.  I, myself, am looking forward to getting the Bionicle sets on my wanted list, because I think what they're doing with them is pretty cool.

I think it'd be cool if I had the gold mask of fire, even though I have no idea what I'd realistically do with it, or where I'd display it.

  4. Does that mean you're offering it to me?

That does look more gold than orange, but the lighting in that pic is pretty bad.  Any chance you could take a pic with better lighting, and maybe with it just laying on the surface without your hand?

  5. I am looking for a gold Vahi for trade or purchase.  I have an orange Vahi right now, but I'd rather have a gold one, so I'll trade my orange one for it if you're interested in that.  Preferably from an American seller/trader so shipping isn't too much.  I'd prefer at least like new condition, and I'm willing to pay $8-10 for it, based on the posted value in the collectibles topic.

I have one potential offer so far, but I'm still looking, so please make your offers if you're interested.

Edit: I decided to pounce on an ebay listing that was for more than just a gold Vahi, at a pretty reasonable price, so I no longer need that.  I am, however, still interested in a Disk of Time, and I'm willing to pay $2-3 for it.

This may just be me, but when I went to Tahu's character page I couldn't click the image that said "wallpaper" near the bottom. I had to go into the source code of that page to get the two that were available. They're cool, and I have them in my current wallpaper slideshow, but I really don't think I should have had to go to that much trouble to get to them.

It wasn't just you but it would have been enough to right-click the image and choose "Show image" or a similar option instead of searching the entire source code.
So I could have (I tried it out after reading your suggestion, and it worked).  Oh well, I guess I was just in a source code kind of mood.  I've been looking for a lot of things in source codes lately.  You make it sound like it's hard, but it really wasn't at all.  I knew what I was looking for, and I knew what most of the rest of it looked like, so it really didn't take me that long.
I didn't make it sound like it was hard. It's almost trivial, actually, but the other way is quicker. :P

Your use of the word "entire" made it sound like you were making it out to be a big ordeal or hassle.

  7. Oh what do you know, Onua has 3, Pohatu has 3, Kopaka has 3, Gali has 3, Lewa has 3, & Tahu has 4! (No surprises there)

    Unless I missed some?

Edit: & yeah no Pohatu [x]or Gali vs. LoSS...

& for those having difficulty loading the pages; Gali, Kopaka, Lewa, Onua, Pohatu, Tahu, & Tahu again; Tahus' page seems to be trying to display one in the centre of my screen for some reason, the other beneath the other two, so I guess a line dropped

Looks like Tahu's fourth one belongs on the LoSS's page, not where it is.  Thanks for showing us those.  I missed that third Tahu one when I went to his page.  Technically I missed the fourth Tahu one too, but I'm not using that one.

  10. I love that. :D  Why would you add anything to that at all?  It looks done to me.  If you made something for the current Bionicle line, I would think that'd be its own video, unless LEGO decides to tie this version into the last one, which I'm not sure how they could.

  11. At first I didn't see the Mask of Creation, and I thought it was supposed to be the one Ekimu was wearing, in which case I wasn't all that impressed, but then I noticed it.  I was already planning on getting that set purely for Ekimu (though it doesn't hurt that the villain of that set is partly red), but now I really want it.

Here's a yellow lantern batman I just put together after buying this awesome set today. [pic]

That's basically my plan too, but the one from LB3 has black hands and the newer cowl (not the 2015 cowl, the one with the narrower ears that still has the chin piece).

I was going for the comic version actually.

In that case, the hands work, but I still think the cowl with the narrower ears would be better.  I like that version better in general.

I'm just using what I have available. You can use whatever cowl you'd like to. I was just looking to show something off, not for advice.

I wasn't really trying to give advice, I was just comparing what you made with my plan.  Yours does look pretty cool.

    My mistake. Thank you.

    You're welcome.
