    I typically never do these kinds of things but some stuff's been goin on recently so yeah
     
    a couple weeks ago I saw a doctor about a cold, and while I was there he took my blood pressure and was very concerned about how high it was and told me to schedule an appointment with my usual doctor to have it looked at.
     
    about a week later I did so and was sent home with a prescription for blood pressure medicine that I now have to take regularly as well as instructions to have lab work done ASAP.
     
    on thursday I went in and had bloodwork, urinalysis, chest X-rays, and an EKG done.
     
    today I received a call from the hospital, who want me to come back in for more tests to be checked for possible liver and heart issues after some potentially problematic things apparently showed up on the tests.
     
    I've also been experiencing some pretty constant stomach problems that I'm honestly kind of scared to tell the doctor about and have looked at, because they line up pretty condemningly with symptoms of a serious health issue that runs in my family and has already affected my mother and second-eldest brother.
     
    on top of that I was recently dropped from the insurance plan I was on and now everything has to be paid for out-of-pocket.
     
    kinda sucks tbh.
     
    EDIT 12/10/13: I went in and had more bloodwork and an echo cardiogram done. the bloodwork results came back fine, thankfully, but they're still waiting on the results of the echo. should be getting a call about that sometime within the next few days.
     
    meanwhile, last week I had a follow-up appointment regarding my blood pressure. they told me that it was still too high and have doubled the dosage of my meds.
     
    unfortunately the insurance issues haven't been resolved yet, so everything is still being paid for out-of-pocket.

    no, you cannot. because it's not a choice, it's not open to debate or opinion, and if you """disagree""" with a harmless, intrinsic, unchanging part of who somebody is, you are not only objectively wrong but also kind of a bigot.
     
    it's like if I told you that I "disagree" with your race and it makes me uncomfortable for you to be so "overt" about it.
     
    that would be a little thing called racism, just like what you're talking about is a little thing called homophobia.

    but basically brickfair was fun and I met a lot of cool people and some stuff happened like Korra party and laser tag and Nervous Pudding concert
     
    which was really really good btw and you should totally go support them by buying their singles and their album when it comes out (I gave Princess Grr the money for the album in person and essentially pre-ordered it and I also bought a sticker and got it autographed so yeahhh!)
     
    I've been working on revising my list of BZPers I've met and I plan on putting that as a content block but tbh idk who all to add because there were several people I was around a lot but never really formally met or talked to so idk
     
    but yeah
     
    I'm possibly maybe going to try to go next year?? except I want to drive this time because it's a 5-hour drive and I had to wait that long in the airport alone so
     
    I'll see if I can get a rly cute hat or something and bring it next year k <33

    honestly in shock right now. I grew up with so many of his movies. this dude was the funniest person ever to me when I was a kid. he was the man. I can't believe it.

    was absolutely gutted when I heard the news last night, still finding it hard to accept even now.
     
    Stone Temple Pilots are one of my all-time favorite bands and at least half the reason why was Scott. talented as heck and when he had it together, he was truly one of the greatest frontmen in rock. it felt inevitable that it would end this way given his history, but it's still hitting me pretty hard.
     
    I was just in the middle of finishing up my STP collection, too. I just got one of the last albums I needed on Monday. there were a couple others I was going to put off for a while longer, but maybe now I'll go ahead and pick those up in his honor.

    like the title says. I used to update this pretty often but for the past couple years I've only really used it to post music collection updates that nobody reads, with the occasional random musing here or there. I've got a tumblr (which I so can't link here) where I do most of my actual blogging and updates and stuff, but it feels weird having a blog here and doing absolutely nothing with it. I just don't know what to do with it. I'm not exactly the picture of activity on this site (especially considering my interest in Lego/Bionicle is below 0% at this point, so I rarely if ever post in those subforums) but I'm still more active in COT and stuff than I am here in my own blog.
     
    I also used to have it pretty well decked out with graphics and stuff but now it's about as bare-bones as you can get.
     
    so yeah, suggest stuff I can post here, I guess. this blog used to be semi-active and fairly popular and now it's just dead.

    on this day six years ago I made my first foray into the world of heavy metal music with the album As Daylight Dies by Killswitch Engage.
     
    up to that point I'd really only listened to generic radio rock and alternative bands. I heard their rather misleading single “Starting Over” on the radio and really liked it, but the album that was from wasn’t out yet, so I picked up As Daylight Dies from Walmart one night instead. as soon as the first song started I was floored. I’d never heard anything like it before. wasn’t sure whether I loved or hated what I was hearing at first, but eventually it grew to be the former.
     
    my tastes have changed and diversified a lot since then, but that album really opened up a whole new musical world for me and it'll always hold a special place in my heart. gonna listen to it tonight to mark the occasion.

    anyway so I guess I didn't have to sneak, but I was in and out of the hospital this evening
     
    it's ok I'm ok everything's ok, I just had kind of a potentially brain-damagingly high fever that refused to go down
     
    they pumped me full of meds and fluids and did every medical test known to man
     
    so far as they can tell it's just some kind of virus that should go away within a few days with the proper medication
