  1. Yes, going forth Bionicle's success will largely depend on a new fans to drive sales and bring new kids into fan-base. But the presentation at NYCC really shows that the Bionicle Team is thinking about us in a BIG way. We "Gen 1 Fans" in the unique position of continuing our fandom four years later, while simultaniously passing the torch to the new fans and welcoming them in. Bionicle belongs to us all; newcomers and old-timers alike.
  2. Being the resident OnuaNUT I wish Onua would always have Mata-style claws . But jokes aside, I really like his bulkier new design and the black/purple color-scheme. Onepu sold me on purple Onu-Korans from the get-go. My only criticism would be that his shoulder pads really ought to be gold. With them being silver, they blend in too much with his digging claws when his hammer is in alt-mode. Lucina's mock-up shows perfectly that the same part in a different color can make all the difference.
  3. I have a fondness for canisters, but I'm so happy not to collect them going forth. They take up SO MUCH storage space and I don't like tossing them in the garbage because of their collectibility. As for the new packaging, it looks similar to the current Chima Speedorz; thin cardboard with angled panels for a unique shape. While it'll be neat to have a cool package design, I can see myself putting non-Toa boxes straight into the recycling bin. I agree fully! It's a long shot, but I hope that once Bionicle gets on its feet and separates itself from Hero Factory, maybe we could see a return to foil pouches.
  4. So excited for all the potential in Bionicle 2015!

  5. What a great panel! With 2015 onward being a reboot, there's a lot of potential to have fun with our beloved Toa in a brand new way. I'm excited for all the possibilities! Seeing the video really gave some great insight to the tone of our New Bionicle, as well as showing the passion that exists behind-the-scenes. It's wonderful to see how much respect there is for the past and the clear desire to please old and new fans alike.
  6. I didn't think I'd be so excited for a reboot, but I really am. I like that this will be a separate storyline to enjoy in addition to the original; there's so much potential. I'm loving the animation too, it takes me back to the MNOG days...

    Brickfair '09

Since I work for the Lego Store in Annapolis, I had the opportunity of working at BrickFair this year helping to run the Lego table up on the balcony. We had a bunch of this year's sets out on display, including the Rebel Blockade Runner and Fire Brigade (which release on Sept. 4th!). I got to go check out some of the displays, including BZP's table. The staff was great to meet, there were LOTS of great models on display, all just incredible. There was so much to see that, sadly, I'm not sure I got to give everything a good enough look. But the icing on the cake was that I was able to obtain one of the prototype pieces; the gun-metal Kraahkan! The vendors were amazing as well. I bought some "Halo" pieces from BrickForge, along with a scooter and pigs. And from other vendors I scored an Order of the Phoenix Snape minifigure, dark-blue Han Solo legs and some printed Brickfair '09 bricks and minifigure. An extremely fun day all around!
  8. I noticed a new blogging feature on here from the anniversary perks. I wish normal members had the opportunity to blog; I would do it frequently. I've had a big revival recently in some of the new sets. I bought Mata Nui and Ackar recently from the Lego Store in Annapolis, MD (where I work). Pretty cool characters, especially Mata Nui. I'm a little disappointed that his thigh pieces are so small, but they work with the armor, so I can get over it. haha. We have the Toa Mata Nui there and they look pretty interesting. I may have to pick one up some time. Gotta love that golden Mask of Life! It's been a long time waiting for one of those, but thankfully Lego gave us one
  9. Thanks, I actually had it made for me a loooong time ago (about a few months after I joined BZP).

I do have some non-animated that I made myself. They're on my brickshelf account and you're welcome to use any of them that you like.
