  1. I'm not sure if this is the right place to talk about this, but there isn't anything open on Storyline and Theory that I can pick out, so I figured a new story contest's page would be best to bring it up.Does this mean that all of the other story contests from before the shutdown are nullified now, with no winners or anything? A few contests hadn't quite finished when the forums had their shutdown. The Lesovikk Contest hadn't even collected many permissible entries. If so, that's a shame. The Thousand Years Untold contest especially had some really good entries.

The Lesovikk's Hiatus was run by the KanohiJournal staff, and the Thousand Years Untold contest was run by the S&T guys. This contest doesn't have much to do with those, it's part of a separate series of contests. if you want to know about the conclusion of those two contests, you should contact the members who organized them. But it seems unlikely to me that they'll go winnerless, most likely the people involved are just getting their breath after the long downtime. - 55555
  2. Can someone enter more than one story? And, can I really, not name my story, Lunchables comic 1? :P(I actually am serious on this one)

You cannot enter more than one story, only one entry is allowed per person. I'm gonna let Velox get your second Q.

Question: Is it okay to post the story on a non BZP site for critique?

    That's fine.

I have a doubt: are there any restrictions to regions? Or is it completely international?

Completely international, as long as it's written in English, we don't care where you live. :)

Hmm, I actually have part of a story written that I might be able to finish up for this contest . . . :sly: But, I do have one question? When you say "the theme of our story," do you mean a literary universal theme, or a plot theme? Also, does the theme have to be present in the entirety of the story, or can it appear only in certain portions? ~B~

Gonna let Velox have this one.

I plan on using the comic At Last -- Takanuva! for my entry. Purely for aesthetic reasons, may I get rid of one of the hyphens or turn it into at actual dash?

Either of those slight modifications is fine. - 55555
  3. Just for clarification: We only need to use the name of the comic and not the subject matter? Thanks!

Correct, the subject matter of the comic you choose is actually irrelevant, just base a story off of the title you select.

I certainly need an excuse to write more. This is perfect! Quick clarification here: Are graphic novel titles allowed, like "The Battle of Voya Nui" or "Realm of Fear"? What about the Papercutz comics, like "All Our Sins Remembered" or "The Exile's Tale"? Are those fair game as well?

Yes, all the names on that BS01 page are fair game.

Ill probably enter when the Prizes are announced

Speaking unofficially; don't hold your breath! It's not uncommon for prizes to be announced in the same topic that the winners are. :) - 55555
  4. An MNOLG like game about Kodan, marked canon or semi-canon by Greg. Could be so good. If anyone perchance thinks they can do that and want, to shoot me a PM. - 55555

Greg doesn't read fan fiction or approve any stories as even remotely close to canon, except in the sense that they're an alternate universe.Better, I think, to free yourself from the constraints of the canon story and make it your own. However, Kodan looks like an interesting character who saw a lot of interesting stuff.
Greg has been known to make short stories, MOCs and art canon.- 55555
  5. Regardless of intention, using a Catholic Saint in a banner, or avatar, would potentially open the doors for other members to use other figures from other religions in their signature or avatar, and there'd likely be an explosion of religious debates. And with what happened last time with a controversial topic, BZPower simply isn't mature enough to handle such discussions which is why they're banned in the first place. Removing a possible catalyst to such disunification of the community seems completely fair and practical to me, and this image would be such a catalyst

As the the above statement, I see your logic.
This makes sense to me, and I can see that happening.Though on the face of it Takuma's answer and the rule seemed kind of extreme, after reading Spink's post I tend to agree with them. St. Thomas Aquinas is a famous philosopher and it's possible that he would be allowed for that reason, but since you would be focusing on his saintliness and the way he is revered by the Church, it could trigger the effect that Spink pointed out. Though to me there's nothing wrong or even vaguely offensive about such actions, it could start a chain reaction that would cause trouble.Hate to say this, but I think I reluctantly agree with the Spinkster and Takuma here. :/- 55555
  6. I liked Time Trap because it showed us what Greg could REALLY do when he wans't too constrained

Great point. The same rule applies to the Lego set designers, what could they do if they were unleashed? But I'm revisiting this topic because the book I put forward is so common; besides Time Trap, Darkness Below is also excellent. - 55555
  7. I'm so in. I'll take spot 18. You know, in a way, the new PM system will so help with this, since you don't need to have hundreds of PMs about the game, just one "conversation" for everyone you're talking to in the game. =D And even then, you can technically carry that over to the game after, assuming the same players are in each. =)

You'll have to be careful with it. Anyone that you CC into a PM will be able to see all other replies to that PM. SO for instance Blade send a message to MIA and I. if MIA responds to Blade's message then I can see his response. It will be good among Mafia members though, so that the Mafia can tell what the other Mafia are doing. - 55555
  8. Please tell me a white/trans-white Moc is in the mix?

I do really have to make an MOC with this. but not necessarily white/trans. My bro gave me the idea of using it as a dead/blind eye, which could be great. :) - 55555
Please do that, that sounds awesome!
    I plan to.

Hey, a little touch of Sharpie could make it a healthy eye. ;) :P

  9. That's very interesting. Any idea what set he may have gotten that Zamor in? I'm a collectibles geek and I've never seen a Zamor like that one before... - :t: :l: :h:

Do you know what set it came from? If not, do you know what year it might be from?

I haven't asked him what set he got it in, I should probably do that. I would guess 2006, but that's just a guess.

It would work great as a crystal ball. It could also be great if you made some huge clam MOC, and this could be a pearl. Did you buy it from the site?

Yeah, I thought of it being a pearl, crystal ball could be good, there are quite a few possible uses for this in MOCs. I did buy it from the site.

Nice! How much did you get it for?

    76 cents. :P

Wow, looks very rare. When did LEGO create these? For a contest?

They seem to have made it by accident, they forgot to put color in the mold.

Nice find! Have you found a set or MOC to use it? I have a super-light green sphere, but I don't know if it's rare.

Not yet, but I'll most likely use it n an MOC at some point. :) I think that would be slightly rare. I seem to remember hearing that the lighter a Zamor was the rarer it was. - 55555
  10. Does Greg really have time to talk to us anyway? Does it really matter?

Whether he has time or not is his lookout, and in the past he has consistently said that he welcomes PMs. If I were Greg I suspect I would enjoy answering PMs about something I had worked as hard on as Greg has worked on Bionicle. Personally, it matters to me. It's an opportunity to talk to the man behind the sagas that this whole site is based on.

Practically speaking, it's ridiculous, and legally speaking, it's completely understandable.

    So true. :P - 55555
