What about these rumours of White Hunas and Brown Komaus I've been hearing? Weren't they01 misprints as well?

Those two masks are ultra-rares. Fewer than ten of each exist (I think) and they sell for hundreds of dollars each.

Are there different variants? I eBayed it and it looks bright orange, not gold. Mine is the gold one.

Yes, there are two different colors. The Orange Vahi were promotional masks available in 2001-2002. The Gold Vahi were included in specially marked Vahki, I believe they were exclusive to Toys R Us. In the story, the original Mask of Time was gold colored, but after the Metru Nui saga it was cracked and damaged by seawater so it turned Orange.

Found something very very interesting on Bricklink actually but there was no where to post it so ill just do it here

Its that pitch black Skrall shield, a guy from Germany has 80 of them and they are really cheap, and ive heard from people here that it is a misprint but correct me if im wrong, so here it is!

What version of the kraahkan? Afterall the original 2003 version has six slots/holes on the front, while I believe the 2008 version has four slots/holes on the front. Or does it not matter?

A few masks, such as the New Gold Avohkii, reached the open market through other routes though, and those could be included here in the ultra-rare category.

 

I didn't know that. I always thought there was only one wich was owned by TLH, how many are there really? And how did people get ahold of them?

 

A few ultra-rare kanohi showed up on Ebay a few years ago, including one New Gold Avohkii which sold for ~$200 to a (now banned) BZP member. It is feasible that TLH bought it from him. I have a New Gold Avohkii of my one which I was given by Black Six at Brickfair a few years ago. I think all New Gold Avohkiis are really prototypes, and they reach the open market through the same mysterious European channels as things like Dark Blue Matatus and White Hunas.

Will you be expanding this list to include other masks, such as the white-with-Metru-blue swirl Miru? I don't know if you're going to expand to include a bunch of prototypes in this list, but if you are, that'd be one to include. (I got mine at BFVA '11.)

 

If I can get a comprehensive list from Black Six of all the items in that bag, then I'll definitely include it here. I think he did make a topic along those lines on the old forum. I'll probably PM him soon about it. It really would just be a list of all the pieces and how many of each exist, since we have no background information on any of them and estimating values would be impossible.

The Binkmiester Prototypes were always distributed under the understanding that they would never be sold. With that in mind I don't think that they belong on this list. What would be great would be a link to B6's full list of Bink Protos and a note explaining that selling them is taboo. EDIT: I'm I the only one who thinks this? I may be remembering some statement as more important than it actually was.

It would be helpful to have a clearer order to them. At least separate the one of a kind/ultra-rare items and the fan-made items form the more practical items.
