Yeah... anything else to discuss while on the topic of Species for the Machines? Anyone have any they want to add, or think should be removed?
-
It would be, but I have a feeling it would over-complicate things, with people trying to get the vision version when it's more powerful, like with the Hau.
-
It's an interesting idea indeed, but it would mean having to write out a whole extra list of what powers each mask would have, and I'm stil working on the current ones... It's a lot of writing and thinking to figure out what each mask can and can't do.
-
Cadias: That would allow people to use them more powerfully than they should be.
That would be rather overpowered when compared to the normal Kanohi...
That's what I was thinking.
Vorex: Yes.
The Kualsi can be used, but it can only transport one person, and is range of sight only. And no rapid teleportations.
-
I was thinking that mask powers wouldn't be used as vision powers, as it would really limit quite a few of them, and reduce a lot o them to near uselessness, such as illusion.
Also, for Vorex: In Kirse, Masks of illusion do not give full invisibility, or allow you to shapeshift.
-
That's what I was thinking, they wouldn't have to worry about that as all have Agori/Glatorian/Skrall/Great Being minds.
-
Indeed Onarax, they do. But they do not have the 'mental discipline' to use Toa Masks, which is what I was suggesting here, but at the cost of them losing their vision power.
-
Ok, Fine...
...
That's what I was thinking... it wouldn't really change Toa, but certainly be good for Skakdi.
...
-
You're talking about [REDACTED REDACTED REDACTED REDACTED RE-DACTED!!!!!], right?
Also Vorex... Now that I have your attention...
I've recently thought over an interesting concept, from an idea formed by my brother.
The secondary abilities category has both masks and vision powers included. Why not have where a Toa could have say, X-Ray vision instead of a mask, and Skakdi could have mask abilities, like the Hau, instead off vision. It wouldn't change the balance of the game, but would allow even more customization on characters.
What do you think? (Yes, asking you individually so I hopefully get an answer. XD)

Yeah, I really should have been clearer about that...
Anyone have anything to add/remove to the Machines section?
-
Yeah, I understand. I was just pointing out that it was something included when I was speaking about profiles earlier and not many people had suggestions. I was currently speaking about the usable machines. I found the timing funny. XD
-
Me: Wanting the air conditioning to turn on BEFORE IT WAS COOL!
Yes, lame joke, I know.
-
I thought you might be. XD
...no... I don't..
-
Sure, I see no reason they wouldn't be friends. It would also explain her getting the lab when Nui Jaga was done with it. I am going to have fun with Kyrack... mostly with walking on the roof of buildings instead of the floor. XD
-
I was saying that Vorex has caused minor problems, but I didn't mind, I was just pointing it out to annoy him. XD
... I had already asked about the profiles and no one said anything. Now I mention species for machines, and someone mentions the profiles. XD. Not to worry, I already took the precaution and added those into the list in the current version earlier today.
-
It was a joke. So far, you've all proven very helpful and not caused many issues... except for a certain person... who I have no problem with, but decided to point out for the sake of annoying him. XD
Next I was thinking that working on the available species would be next. Anyone have any that should be added, or think any should be removed?
-
... you think that's bad, imagine being the head of the staff...
-
Onarax: Yeah, I figured that was what was going on.
Cadias: Oh, the horror of having to actually do something! XD
-
I haven't seen much of Onarax at all lately... maybe he's busy.
Ruins are awesome.
Yeah, I suppose... but I think it makes things a little clear looking.
-
Well, at least someone seems to find her a reasonable character for this. It can't approve the profile, but someone seeing nothing wrong with it is always good.
Yep, at least four, if not more.
Oh yes, he will be added in. He's currently in the most recent updated version. When I was asking about what to include, I was speaking about categories in profile, such as name, gender, etc.
-
Te3e: Yeah. XD
Sounds like an interesting idea...
This isn't the Kyrack you know.
Vorex: Sure you weren't.
Well, two is what we're working with right now, and who is Other Guy?
Actually, the last ones got a few bruises, some scratches, and found themselves a Makuta Machine... it was worth it. (Plus, you said your guy is sealed up).
Soo... neither of you have opinions on if she should be allowed in Kirse or not? I could just approve her myself, but I'm trying to keep it fair. I approve/reject your characters, and you all approve/reject mine.
-
I don't really know myself... i should probably check...
Also... for the rest of the staff to look over and decide if it is within the rules:
Name: Kyrack
Gender: Female
Species: A specially made custom machine, with reptilian design merged with that of a Toa.
Appearance: Similar to a Toa, but thinner. She has small claws on her hands and feet, along with serpentine eyes and teeth. Her armor is a dark red and silver, with small patches of black. Her eyes are yellow-grey, and she has a small spiked ridge on her upper back.
Faction: She is connected to all factions, but a member of none.
Weapons: She carries with her a staff with rotating blades on the end, that spin like a saw when she sends electricity through it, it drains elemental energy and without it, is mostly useless. She also has a small sword.
Primary Power: She has elemental powers of electricity, coming from the Toa bases she used for her own design.
Secondary power: She has slightly higher agility than most beings, except Vortixx, and can stick to things using her hands and feet, such as climbing walls or hanging from the roof of a building.
Personality: A slippery being, who has an uncanny knowledge of the machines and devices of the Great Beings. She is credited for being the only person in the city able to make a custom machine... though no one is certain if it is true. Overall, she's rather relaxed, with a somewhat serious personality. She doesn't really like speaking of the past, but is always eager to listen to design ideas from other beings.
Weakness: Her work with mechanics has left her battle skills rather rusty, and she doesn't often end up in many fights. Her elemental powers and and weapon skills are below average, though not by much.
Biography: Kyrack showed up in the city around the time of the discovery of the Great Being laboratory and started fusing beings with machines. The reptilian being seemed to quickly take interest in the lab, making a deal with the Nui Jaga to take it over after they had finished removing everything they wanted. As soon as it was empty, she took over, and started reverse engineering everything she could get her claws onto.
Soon enough, the factions started coming to her to get machines repaired or altered, and eventually, most started moving their Great Being made fusion machines into her lab, with agreements that they only be used for their members. She also has access to most of the special blueprints from each faction, but once again will not use them unless a person has written permission from the owning faction.
She was named after her grandfather, a designer of weapons long ago.

It's now fixed in the most current version, which I have saved for entry in the contest.

Sorry Cadias, a few Rahi would work, but Zyglak are already on the list. XD
Zyglak: As strong as a Skakdi, these machines were used for defense, taking blows from elemental powered weapons and facing little harm. They are immune to elemental abilities and have the ability to produce poison for protection.
