Well mates, it's on to the final round of the duel! Currently our two duelists are tied at one round apiece, and I look forward to this last epic battle! However, before we move on, please join me in congratulating the winner of our last round...

    Darth Vader! Yay!

And now moving on to the challenge...

    Challenge number three:
    ---------------------------------------------------

~ Your MoC must be a re-vamp of one of the Toa Nuva Phantoka (Lewa, Kopaka, or Pohatu)
~ Your MoC may not be a Makuta Phantoka
~ Your MoC must use the original Phantoka mask as the Toa's mask
~ It must be obvious that your MoC is a re-vamp of one of the Toa, but at the same time, it needs to be heavily re-vamped

    ---------------------------------------------------

The two of you have 72 hours to build your MoCs and PM them to me. In other words, until Monday evening.

There ya go guys! I am going to start on the trophy in just a little bit... I look forward to what you shall have to present! *hopes that one of the duelists shall build Lewa*

I'm considering on purchasing individual parts from online stores (as opposed to sets). I'm wanting to expand my inventory a bit in terms of functional pieces and some flair pieces. Specifically, I would love to know what the best pieces for fusion building are. I know of pieces like the brick/socket and the brick/ball pieces, etc. Got any other suggestions? Of course I'll get some extra connector 1x3 +O+ and some of those 1x2 ++ pieces. I'm always needing more of those. XD I've also got my eyes set on some green dragon wings too. (Think big green dragon people! B) )

Also, where is the best place to purchase LEGO/BIONICLE pieces for the best prices and quality?

    Thanks for your time!

Great sunspots! The forums have returned! I was beginning to think the beast that is the forums had died... But I guess the all powerful staffies came along and revived it! Thanks guys!

Now, in my time away I have had a birthday. My 17th in fact. As a result, I got a bunch of money, and as a result of that I placed my largest parts order (or combination of orders) yet: $50+, 400+ pieces. I've received one of them, but the other two are still in the process of shipping. I made sure to buy plenty of system (at least half of it I think) DV, I'm wanting to seriously delve into fusion building. I'm pumped! Speaking of pumping, I got an airsoft gun and the accompanying paraphernalia too!

*Edit*: I forgot to mention that I also got Super Mario Galaxy for my b-day too! It's a pretty sweet game (the super awesomeness factor really comes from the creativity of the levels themselves). Sadly though, I felt that it played too quickly; My sister and I had beaten the final Bowser just after one week! Of course, it helped that she was doing co-op, so that might have had something to do with it... Regardless, We have 106/120 stars at the moment, and I highly recommend the game (providing you are a Mario fan of course!)

I can't say how active I will be (not very much I am sure) but I'll still hang around; it's good to have the forums/blogs back online! I'll be sure to post up when I build something... not sure how long that will be though.

Anywhoo, just thought I'd say howdy!

Ok guys, I have gotten alot of good feedback on this contest proposal (see blog entry before this one), and thus I believe that I shall go through with it. However, there are still a few things that need to be smoothed over/decided upon:

~ The MoCing period. The options:
    a - 24 hrs
    b - 48 hrs
    c. - 72 hrs

~ Who can enter. The options:
a - Only members that have come in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place in a BBCC; or members that have won a LEGO Mag Challenge can enter
b - Same as "a" except it would be 1st - 5th place on the BBCCs
c - Same as "a" except it would be open to anyone who has made it into the finals of a BBCC

    ~ The trophy. The options:
a - One trophy that only the current champion could posses
b - A whole new trophy for each separate contest

I also thought of a new option for the contest while vacuuming this afternoon. And that would be that instead of two MoCists going at it head-to-head, there would be teams of two MoCists per team in each duel. The members in each team would have to work together (via PM) and make their combination of MoCs be the winners. They would each get a trophy. The thing that I like about this option is that there would be no attitude of "I won the recent MoCist duel. Look at what I did." Instead, there would be a sense of teamwork, which is not found in the regular BBCCs. When it came to the polls here, the members would still present their MoCs separately, but the way that a team would win would be to add the total amount of votes that each member got for their individual MoCs, and that would be the team score. Obviously, the team with the most votes would win the round. Everything else would be the same though.

So, What do you think about that?

Once we get all of this stuff worked out, I shall hopefully be able to post the main blog entry for the contest as well as the first entry form (a separate blog entry) sometime earlier next week. I look forward to seeing how this will all work out! Remember, I need you guys' help as well!

I hath seen it. Doth I recommend said movie to thou? A resounding YES. Why? Read on, but thou must be warned, brave traveler, that much information is about to be disclosed to thou ears. If thou dost not wish to have said movie ruined for thyself, then read no further.

Hey guys! Well, my dad and I went to see Indy last Thursday, and I thought that I would write a little review.

To start off with, the movie was a lot better than I was expecting. It was at least as good as the first Indy movie, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Why do I think this? Well, the movie has alot of great action scenes, there was a good spattering of humor in it, and it was just like classic Indy. I really liked the beginning that was in and around the Warehouse (though Indy surviving the Atomic blast was really far fetched, though funny) as well as the jungle battle/chase/duel. Those ants give you the creeps though. Mutt, I mean Henry Jones the 3rd, was one of my favorite characters. He was jumpy and nervous at the beginning, but you could really tell that he matured over the course of the movie. I especially liked his interaction with Indy, there was some good humor there. The producers also did a good job of using Ford's age to their advantage, which lead to a good bit of the humor. Oh, and one more thing, they had a really good villainess. Irina was one tough gal, she fit in perfectly, and she was so different than all of the other bad guys in the previous films.

Of course, the whole alien thing was... different. And while I do not agree that aliens exist, it was good for the movie. The fascinating thing about the Indy movies is that you have the Ark of the Covenant, some pagan stones, the Holy Grail, and now an alien skull as the object of Indy's search. And in each of these movies, each of these artifacts actually contain power, in other words, the stories behind them are real and true. However, the theology behind them conflict. You have two artifacts that are from the Bible, and yet two others that are pagan/non-theistic. I just found this interesting to think about. What do you say?

So in other words, the actual artifact that Indy was searching for, and the tales and powers behind it, weren't good at all. However, the movie was very, very good over all. There was a great variety of types of scenes: action, fighting (fists, swords, guns, you name it), hunting, solving riddles, spooky graveyards in the dead of night (I never can figure out why the characters in movies have to go at night to the graveyards), raging rivers, jungle chases, and of course a dimensional rift and a flying UFO. What's my final word? Go see it!

I'm just about done with the leg design, and I love it. Very sleekish and smooth!

The color scheme is black with lime accents. <3

Sorry, no WIP pic; I want to keep this one to myself until it's all complete.

Also, this will be the first time I will have to go purchase parts separately for a specific MoC
(at least I plan on it)

Also also, moving text back to normal position; likey?

    For Bink's contest?

The philosophical square root of Black Six's right toe is less than the absolute value of Tufi minus ToM in addition to the hierarchical overruling awesomeness that is purple cacti. Add the resulting factors of the prior equation to the cube root of Niki and a brown frog is born in a barn on the peak of mt. Everest. Subtract the sum of 64 and Wii to find the unknownable common factor of the White Seven and solve the problem of moldy cheese to achieve world domination. The third book page of the Hungarian guide to French cooking is the cause of all green trees in Alaska. Also, forget not to never have any neither sauce in neverland; hurts all pink kittehs it does. LEGO squared is Binkmeister. You. pack. tongue-loads. of. ubberness. Hurt not red cars, for upset the balance of the force, it will not until the 56th or Greenember in the year -873.

Ok, first things first. How exactly do you place two capital letters right after one another in a blog title without the second one being a little letter? Thanks for any input.

Now, on to the news! My family has officially arrived in DC, and we will be here for the remainder of the week. Today we went to the Udvar-hazy Air and Space Museum in the morning and had a blast there looking at all of the cool planes, missiles, space probes, and of course the Enterprise. This afternoon we went to the Museum of Natural History which was neat, even though they tried to smear evolution in your face at every chance (which is understandable for an organization which believes that and has supposed "evidence" for it) That's the only part that I disliked about it, but besides that I really enjoyed it. I am SO tired right now though, I'm not sure if we will be able to take a week of this! I just need to get some good sleep...

In other news, my parents have given my sister and I consent to purchase a Wii! My dad and I just ordered it not 5 minutes ago actually. For the extra game, we are going to start of with Smash Bros. Brawl (at long last!). I'm quite pumped, although this is still a bit of a hard decision for her and I to make, seeing as it's so much money. Ah well; we have been wanting it for a long time and we now finally have the money. I believe we should have a blast with it. If there are any of you guys out there who are Brawl fans (or Wii Sports players), the please let me know and we can exchange codes! I won't be able to play until we get home though (we are having it shipped there).

I've gotta go get ready for bed now, and I believe my internet access will be limited over the week due to the fact that you can only access it in the lobby for free (silly hotel charges; don't they know free wireless is standard now?!). Man, I'm gonna have to scramble when I get home for BBCC #54. Getting a new Wii won't help either. =P

Whoops. I totally did not mean to lock this.

I was looking at the new Atlantis site, and I found this set. It looks like it has some really good MoCing pieces in many different varieties. I won't be able to get it any time soon, but I just thought I'd throw that out there.

Well guys, the last round seemed... um... rather unanimous in who the winner was, so I decided to move on to round two before the deadline (which was Monday). But before I do so, please join me in a round of applause for the winner of round one!

    Roa McToa!!! *Round of applause*
    Congrats Roa!

If any of you (especially our duelists) would rather us finish the voting, then please say so. I also think that it would be good to start the round just before the weekend, so that you guys can have more time to MoC. Sound good? Very well then, let us begin!

You guys should know the routine by now, everything is the same as the first round...

    Challenge number two:
    ---------------------------------------------------

    Your MoC may not contain:

    ~ Any ball sockets what-so-ever

    ---------------------------------------------------

    Now... get at it!

The two of you have 72 hours to build your MoCs and PM them to me. In other words, until Monday evening.

Just as a reminder DV, because Roa has one the first round, if she wins the second one, then she shall win the duel. So, you had better do well.

If you have any questions, please feel free to comment them in this blog entry. I look forward to your MoCs!

Welcome to the first edition of...

Hello BZPower members! I am pleased to present to you the first edition of the BZP MoCist Duels blog contest, brought to you by the "Emerald Bricks" blog, and hosted by ~GreenBioGuy~.

Here is how the contest shall be conducted:

~ ONLY those members which have placed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in a BBC contest or have won an official LEGO Building challenge may enter.
~ I shall post a seperate blog entry that you shall use to enter the contest.
~ To enter, simply write your display name and the name of the contest(s) that you have won, as well as what place you achieved in that contest, in the designated blog entry.
~ Entry time begins now, and ends on June 12, 11:59 P.M. (Central Standard Time)
~ Once all eligable members have submited their names, I shall post up a seperate poll in which all members shall vote on the two members which they would like to see compete within the duel. The poll shall last from June 13 to June 15.
~ Once the two duelists have been chosen, I shall post up the first challenge, and thus the first round, in a blog entry.
~ Within the challenge I shall list the criteria for the MoCs that the duelists shall be building.
~ The duelists then have 72 hours, or three days, to complete their MoCs. Once they have completed said MoCs, they shall then PM them to me, along with any information that goes with them.
~ Once I have recieved the two MoCs, I shall post them together in a new poll, providing that they conform to the rules.
~ All members shall then vote on the MoC that they feel is coolest/fits the criteria the best/ is the most creative etc. This poll shall last for about three days.
~ The winner of the poll shall be the winner of the first round, and we shall then move on to the second round, which shall be conducted exactly like the first, with the exception of the criteria for the MoC being different in this new round.
~ The winner of the duel is the member which has won the most of the three rounds.
~ As a prize, the winner shall recieve a digital trophy which he/she may place in their blog, and they shall also be recognized as the MoCist Duel Champion.

    Rules:

Seeing as we shall have mostly more advanced and experienced MoCists in this contest, I am sure that they shall conform to all of the basic rules just like in a BBC contest. Essentially, the rules here are the same as a BBC, including (unless otherwise noted) the rule for 25% maximum system pieces within the MoC. No cheating, flamming, complaining, etc. etc... Oh, and above all, you must have fun! I hope that this contest shall run smoothly, and that we shall all enjoy it enough to want to do it again!

    6/9/08 - Enter here.
6/12/08 - Member Selection polls are up!

I got my Brickmaster in today. I must say, I enjoyed the whole enchilada quite nicely.

The magazine itself was nice. There are a few pages dedicated to Bionicle, talking about the Mistika and whatnot. The new Agents comics are neat, and rather entertaining as well. The Batman comic was ok... Also featured is a two page... thingy... on the Star Wars: The Clone Wars LEGO minifigures, coming out later on in the summer apparently. The minifigs looks pretty good, especially the clones. Captain Rex has quite a few new minifig accessories on him. B) I was dissapointed in the lack of contests, there are only two. Ah well.

The Bionicle comic was quite excellent, in opinion. It was well laid out, spending equal time on all three toa and makuta. Tahu and Gali are beginning to grow on me (Onua... not so much), and the Makuta are beginning to look like a real problem

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «Takanuva is back! And... I wonder what the Codrex is? The Brickmaster exclusive set is my favorite part of the lot. It was the exclusive Indiana Jones set! While the set looks cool (I have an Indy minifig now!) it is also built well. There are some smart building technics to be found, and... of course, there is all of that dark green!

So overall, I really liked this month's Brickmaster edition of the LEGO magazine.

Greetings BZPower members! I am happy to present to you my first real blog entry. I am going to use this entry to introduce myself.

Well, to start off, my name is Joshua. I would give you my last name, but I have been advised not to do so. I am sure that you could figure it out if you really wanted to though. Anyway, I am 15 years old, and I shall be 16 in August (driving! yippes!). I am a rather tall (six feet and just under 3 inches) skinny boy that has a thick carpet of (short) brown hair.

As to my personality, I can be a real goof off, but I can also be quiet, attentive, and respectful; all depending on the situation. I tend to think more logically, and I hate to jump to quick conclusions. I love adventure and action, and you can often find me blowing the heads off of some imaginary foe down the hall. I tend to be a perfectionist (meaning that I have to have all of my ducks in a row). Often times, this can be impending and negative, and I hope to improve. I am also very organized. I have all of my LEGO pieces sorted out in plastic drawers. My room is really never a mess unless I am in the middle of a Bionicle building project. My closet is a little more disorganized, but that is probably because I can't see it. (I can't stand to see a mess). I also have the personality of a leader. Sometimes this is a good thing, and other times (ok, most times) it isn't. If I am not careful, I can be rather bossy to my sister, as well as others around me. I have this impulse to be in control, and I often times have to slap myself in the face mentally and tell my self to just let go. I am also a hard worker, and I try to be diligent (usually, I am). I generally do not mind physical work outside (providing that it isn't 87 degrees and 90% humidity), and I don't usually complain. I also enjoy learning, and thus, school. I must admit that I don't love school, but we must all remember that it is a blessing. Many children around the world can't (and would love to) read. I love helping others, and I think of myself as having a servant's attitude. I am (most times) ready to help my mother with the dishes at night or to help my dad in the yard.

I live in west Tennessee (between Nashville and Memphis, see if you can guess where) with my mom, dad, and sister. Sure, we bicker at times (my sister and I that is), but generally we get along really well. Oh, and she's 12. We live on a five acre plot of land out in the country. Lot's of trees. We also have a large pond in our front yard, which is about an acre large. We also have a small row boat that we take out occasionally and ride in on the water. Well, I say that we are in the country, but more and more houses are being built out our way. But there is a very large area of forest behind our property in which I go to explore very often in the fall and winter. Being in our location, we get high humidity, poison ivy (of which I am allergic), snakes (copperheads), and mosquitoes (I hate them. period. But for some reason then seem to love me...). We also have about 20 blueberry bushes in the backyard, from which my dad says that we shall likely harvest 80 gallons or so this year. We have also built about a dozen or so raised beds in the backyard. Beds to grow produce in that is. We have just about every kind of vegetable you could name. Not to mention a ridiculous number of tomato varieties (not that that's bad, I love tomatoes). Speaking of food, I am not a very picky eater, just to let you know.
Because we have such a large yard, It takes approximately three hours to mow. Yuck. Oh, and we have one dog and a cat. The dog is a chocolate labrador (my dad says that she is one notch above dead, she does just about nothing besides eat and sleep. She is getting old).

Let me give you a little history of how I got into Bionicle. Let's see... Back in early 2003 I had an interest to start getting the LEGO Magazine, I don't remember why though, I didn't even know that a Bionicle comic came with the magazine. Interestingly, I had, for some reason, always thought of the Bionicle sets as "bad", and I would always avoid that section of the LEGO catalogue. I was ten years old at the time. Anyway, my first Bionicle comic was #11, "Who Will Stop the Bohrok-Kal?". As you can imagine, I was pretty clueless about the story, seeing as I jumped in directly at the climax for the Nuva/Kal section of the story. I recall thinking to myself, "who are these guys with the weird heads?". After I talked with my parents about it, I checked up on the rest of the story, on the web and in the books. Soon I had figured out more of the story and my first Bionicle set was Tahu Nuva. I remember putting him on his surf board and making him surf all over the house... ah, good memories. Anyway, Gali soon followed for easter, Onua came next, and then my collection exploded from there. I will let you know, that I have very few sets prior to '03.

So, that is how I got into Bionicle. How did I discover BZPower? Well, my dad and I were searching for an Ultimate Dume set back in '05 (we couldn't find him anywhere), and we found BZPower in Google. I now knew that the site existed, but it wouldn't be until two years later that I would actually join. Last year I had started looking around on BZPower and it looked really neat. I asked my dad, and he let me join. Since then, I have gotten into the swing of things pretty well, and I think that it is a great site.

I think that that is enough to start off with...

  14. GreenBioGuy
Well hello BZP people out there! I am shocked to see that it has been nearly a month since my last blog entry! I think that it is high time for an update!

Ok, let's see... to start off with, the main reason that I have not been blogging (or doing much else around here) is because a) I have been doing other more important things and B) I hit one of my BZP low spots (I go in spurts of being real active and then not).

I have just finished checking up on all of the news and reading the new serials. Very nice. I have also been voting in the S&T #4 this morning (just the MoC polls, I may have time to do the others some other time). I have also been keeping up with BBCC #50, and I am still patiently awaiting for all of the entries to be submitted (can someone remind me of when the voting begins?). Aside from S&T #4 and BBCC #50, are there any other big goings on that I should know about around here? Any really good blog contests or entries to read? Now I will tell you, I have been keeping up with all of my favorite blogs and such, and I have been reading the news consistently, I just haven't been commenting or posting that much. Oh, and I updated my avatar/banner theme. What do you think?

In terms of MoCing, prior to a week ago or so ago, I had not done much at all for at least a month. I never did get around to entering S&T #4 and the MoC that I was planning on entering into Bone's blog contest never did get finished. I had built the lower half of the creature (the legs and lower torso), but then I hit a serious MoCist's block. In other words, I couldn't get an idea for either the arms or the upper torso. So, as could be expected, he just sat in my WIP box for a month. And then about a week ago I got motivated again to start building again. Thus, I pulled out my WIP and started tinkering. Lo and behold, I now have a pretty good torso and upper arms. No, he's not done yet, but you can expect to see him up on the forums within the next week or two. He was going to be a winged wolf that could stand on it's hind legs, but that may change. Color scheme is black and silver.

As to sets, I am not buying them anymore. Simply put, I am now wanting to spend my money on things that are more worth my while. Sure, I may get an occasional canister set every now and again, but for the most part, I shall only get new sets if I win them.

But what about my real life? Well, the main thing that has happened lately is that I turned 16! Yay! I got a nice new desk and desk chair (one of those that spin around and roll of wheels!) I also got Brisingr (the third book in the Inheritance Cycle) for pre-order, the latest Redwall book for pre-order from the same location, and the new card game, Elementeo. It is quite fun and creative, and I would recommend it to any science/chemistry lovers.

I have also doing some work for my dad outside in the effort of paying him back for my new laptop that I got at the beginning of the summer. I'm almost there! Unfortunately, the weather has been horribly hot and humid, so... yeah. Not fun. However, fortunately, it rained the day before yesterday, and as a result the weather has cooled down significantly. You know, it's really bad when you get excited about 85 degree weather! I am looking forward to getting outside this afternoon...

As to what else I have been doing, I have two projects going on. The first is I am (or should be) working on a trilogy that I am writing. Mainly I am just doing outline and thinking on the plot and storyline. The other project has to do with starting a ministry that shall be raising money for water wells in Sudan Africa. If anyone would be praying for this, that would be great (I hope that doesn't violate any BZP rules... )

Pertaining to the subject of entertainment, I got the new LEGO Indiana Jones game a few weeks ago! And yes, it is truly a great game. The features and actions far out-strip LEGO Star Wars. The collectibles are a little more simple though (there are no gold bricks or the like). But besides that, I love the game. The story mode movies are quite funny, and the characters are just as good. So yeah, it's good.

I have also seen Batman: Dark Knight. To start off with, I give it six out of five start on acting and plot. This movie is targeted more towards a good storyline (a very complex one at that, which I love) than mind-blowing graphics and fighting scenes. The movie just might be my favorite one this summer. Sure, it's dark, but it really adds to the movie. Oh, and the Joker is like the ultimate bad-guy. The thing that makes him so bad is because he is not interested in money, power, or fame; but rather destruction and chaos, as a truly evil baddie should be. And as I said, the storyline is complex. It just keeps on going, but in a good way. So, if you haven't seen it yet, then I would encourage you to do so!

I shall wrap this up with asking you guys if you would be interested in my holding another MoCist Duels contest. This time, however, there would be only one round per duel. I am still unsatisfied with the result of the last one... Anyway, if enough of you want to do it, then I shall fire it up right away!

I also noticed that my blog rating has shot down significantly. It's 4.0 now. It used to be one of the higher rated ones amongst my favorite blogs list. Who did it? Jk... however, it would be nice to get it back up... (hint hint ) I guess that I deserve it, what with my recent absence of activity. Ah well...

I guess that's about all... Until next time!

Set #4993: Cool Convertible Pieces: 648

Yep, that's right; it's not technic! Heh, I haven't purchased a system set in years. The reason for my purchase of this set was due to an upcoming project that I'm wanting to work on which involves the colors of purple and white. Obviously, this set was for the latter color requirement. It was really interesting; I found myself walking around the ubber-cool LEGO store looking for sets based on content and pieces as opposed to theme for the first time. I considered getting a Star Wars set or perhaps Racers or even one of the new Power Miners sets. I decided against these due to either price or (especially for the Power Miners) the colors weren't what I was looking for. My eye settled on the Convertible mainly for its larger quantity of white curvey pieces and small connection parts; it should prove helpful in MoCing.

The LEGO store was pretty sweet overall, and the LEGO sculptures were nifty too. I found the sale section Neaku, but they pretty much only had the Star Wars "Twilight" ship available; which, granted, was on sale for $50 (normally $100). I wasn't the least bit interested in it though. Oh, and they had the main Indiana Jones set on sale too (I'm not sure how much though). The store was all you guys hyped it up to be!

My plan is to build the set as soon as I get home but then I put it up on display until I get enough money to put in a good-sized you-know-which-site order (which will probably have to wait until my birthday, which in turn is at the very beginning of August). I'm rather glad that it's gonna have to wait until August though; I'm busy at the moment with other things. Personally, I'm pumped about just building the thing as I haven't actually built a large LEGO set in quite some time.

Oh, and Blue Fire, my family had deep dish pizza this evening for supper, and it was superb! In addition, the weather was beautiful! It was perfect for walking around the city indeed.

Just thought I'd mention what I got (did I choose well?), and I may be able to post more about the trip sometime this week...

I don't have much time to give my thoughts, but I can summarize. The movie was EPIC and AWESOME to say the least, especially regarding the whole Pandora world. I absolutely loved all of the fictional creatures and I found myself ogling at the various glowing plants, strange lizards which fly by spinning their wings in a rapid canopy above them, awesome six legged horses, and floating mountains among other things.

The story over-all was solid, even though you knew what was going to happen pretty much from the get-go. I love stories of the under dogs beating up on the big bad guys with the advanced weapons and technology. The characters were cool, and I really liked it how the band of half a dozen or so "went rogue" so to speak and rebelled against the military to help out the Na'vi. My favorite was the female helicopter pilot (forgot her name) who went into battle at the end in war paint like the Na'vi and even painted her ship to match! Speaking of the finale, it was climactic and epic; I liked it how there was a combination of large scale battle but also one-on-one there at the very end.

So, yeah. Awesome movie; I definitely wouldn't mind seeing it again. Of course, it definitely had it's downsides (language being the main one), but there were positive things about it too (aside from the epic factor). I was hesitant to see it the first time, but I must say, I loved it!

I worked outside in the yard for 6.5 hours today...

My legs feel completely drained of energy, but I feel very good about all I got done!
Mowing, weed-eating (edge trimming), and hauling cut up wood (we had a huge tree fall in our yard)

Now to work on my robot a little bit...
Please send me mind waves of inspiration! I'm having a bit of trouble with the torso. >_<

I still would like to know any thoughts you guys have on my current project!
@ staff: this is not a comments drive; I simply want to know what my fellow MoCists have to say on the topic.
Since I posted this last week, I have fixed the lower legs so that they integrate more technic, and I think I've got a good upper leg design.I still need to change the arm cannon and add a head. The back isn't done yet either. We're getting close!
(all of that ^^^ in response to the first comments)

Please forgive the picture quality. They are WIP pix after all.

    Ok, so here he is:

As I have mentioned before, he was inspired by DV's Transtech Shockwave.
All comments and criticisms are welcome (though preferably constructive).
    So... thoughts?

Also: Name change! (sorry CF, I just wanted to try something new )

Ladies and gentlemen, I am pleased to present the first round within the first BZP MoCist Duels blog contest!
To start things off, I present to you our two duelists... Please give a hearty round of applause to...

    Darth Vader and Roa McToa!

    *enthusiastic applause*

Ok you two, here's the scoop. I shall give you a list of criteria that you must (or must not) contain in your MoC. Once this blog entry is posted, you shall then have 72 hours to complete your MoC and PM it to me. Do not post your MoC either in the forums or the blogs until I have posted them myself. This way, you shall not have a chance to see the opponent's creation until the actual voting begins. Got that? Then let the first round begin!

    Challenge number one:
    ---------------------------------------------------

    Your MoC must contain:

~ Green (any shade), black (only black, no gray), and silver pieces.
~ Only the above listed colors are allowed. If your MoC contains any other colors than these, it shall be instantly disqualified. This color rule applies to axles, pegs, and bushings as well. Thus, no blue half and half pegs or red #2 axles are allowed.

    ---------------------------------------------------

You are free to build absolutely whatever you so desire, as long as it conforms to the above criteria.

    A few notes:

I understand that this first challenge is not as detailed or complex, but I think that they shall increase in complexity as we continue. I am very interested in seeing what our two duelists shall build with my favorite colors... Anyway, if any of you members have any ideas as to further challenges, please feel free to PM me about them. DV and Roa however, cannot give me suggestions at this time, seeing as they are the duelists.

DV and Roa, you now have 72 hours to complete your MoC. In other words, the building time begins now (Monday, June 15) and ends Thursday (June 19). I would advise that you are not late...

If you have any questions, please feel free to comment them in this blog entry.

The voting shall begin once I receive both of the duelist's MoCs (So if I get them both on Tuesday, then I won't wait until Thursday to start the voting).

With that out of the way, then I would suggest that you two get building!

The Bionicle Based Creations Critics Club has recently been updated and edited. Toa Velox and I collaborated on how best to do this, and we have made several major changes:

    - Removed critic screening; in other words, anyone can join!
    - Added critic ranks. This (basically) is a way to encourage our critics to write better and better reviews. A critic will give a review, link to it in the "Critics" entry, and then the Curators will rate the review according to the quality of it in relation to the MoC in question. In other words: quality over quantity.

Those are the main things, and we also did a bunch of little edits as well (grammar, content, etc.)

We would still love it if you could join up! If you already write reviews in the BBC Forum, it would be great to have you. Event if you don't write reviews all that often, we would love to have you anyway!
