Oh hi thar. I was just scanning the blogs (once in a blue moon thing now) and the name "C. S. Lewis" jumped out at me; I'm a huge fan. In answer to your question about the Narnia series being for kids, the answer is yes and no. Lewis originally wrote them as kids' books, but they really transcend ages and are wonderful for any and everyone. Lewis packs alot of truth into his works, and each one is really a work of art. So yes, be sure to read them. As to the order, the only thing I would say would be to be sure to start with The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe first, followed by Prince Caspian, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, The Silver Chair, and The Last Battle. The Magician's Nephew is a prequel of sorts, telling the history of Narnia, and The Horse and his Boy aren't part of the main storyline—it takes place sortof in the middle and is more of a side adventure. So as long as you start with The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and read those first five in order, you're good to go. Eeko mentioned Lewis' Space Trilogy; I'm actually half way through them myself (got the books for Christmas), and thus far all I've had to say is "wow." The pure creative genius Lewis exhibits is extraordinary—he creates whole worlds from (what seems to be) scratch. Truly marvelous. And as to The Screwtape Letters: all I have to say is yes, Yes, Yes! This work is one of his best by far—so insightful about the Christian walk and how demons/temptation relate to us. Wonderful stuff here. Keep up the good reading! For me, it's always legs/feet first, like Draco. Torso soon follows and then arms. The head is always last. Well, then weapons I suppose. So no, it's not weird at all; we all have our order of building stuff. EF (GBG)

I will not be entering, due mainly to the fact that I simply have not had time to build something really good, and no mind-blowing ideas came to me to begin with. Sad, yes, but you can't enter them all. There are some really amazing entries this time around; stuff which I would have no hope of competing with. I sorta built a Han Solo, but there wasn't anything innovative about him really... BBCC's just don't hold the weight with me as they used to (I'm growing up I guess) I am looking forward to the voting process though. In other MoCing news my Fusion Project is very close to completion and once it's done a college friend of mine who is a Photography major (I think) has agreed to do professional photography of the model in an actual studio setting (which will be SO much better than my set-up at home). I look forward to showing him to you guys. So... yeah. Life is good, school is busy (but good), and I'm glad the weekend's here. I can't wait for LEGO Universe to be released but in the mean-time I do believe I'm going to go back to some of my old PC games to crack back open (i.e. Star Wars: Republic Commando) EF (GBG)

Silly Apple. =/ I must say, it just looks like an overgrown iPhone to me. I was hoping it would actually run Mac OS (which would make it really worth it) but no, they have to go and make you work through Apps. *sigh* My laptop is plenty good for me, thank you. Ah yes. I remember seeing this a while ago in another entry. Let's see. First impressions... (and these might be a bit rambly) I quite like the right arm's design and I second what Arpy about investing in a new Metru Torso. The left arm is just... odd; mainly because it's almost an upside down version of the right arm (though not quite). The wrist spikes are niffty too and I think that they are fine in silver, but you will definitely want to even out your color distribution; currently your silver is mostly in the upper torso and weapons. His torso looks a bit flat, like he got sat on by a Kikanalo or something. The bulky hands give the impression of muscle, but you really don't find that anywhere else in the MoC and his proportions look odd. To be more specific, his proportions length wise are fairly good (up and down) but it's the width and diameter that needs work. He needs a bit of beefing up (especially the legs), and I would definitely recommend either shortening the arms several studs or lengthening the legs (I would go with the arms if it were me). The Mata Nui weapons on the shoulders look cool, but the silver Mahri armor on top doesn't quite fit; might I recommend getting some dark green Nuva shoulder armor pieces? Or, Matau's shoulder armor would work just as well. That Piraka foot needs to come down (you've already mentioned that though), and the legs definitely need work. Personally, I don't like the "leg on leg" design here; that is, you using leg pieces on top of other ones for armor. As to the weapons, the boomerang looks very cool, but it doesn't look practical at all. I mean, how's he gonna throw it? Could you use different weapon types to scale it down in size but keep the concept? I like the shield; keep that. One last thing. I know that the whole reason that you are building this guy is so you can use your nifty new Prototype piece (and I can't say that I blame you) but all the same the head looks very small on this MoC. I was looking through your Brickshelf folders and saw the original Glatorian sized guy you built with the helmet; that worked very well. I think it could work on this guy though. All told, this guy shows promise but he needs work for sure. He is just a WIP at the moment after all. I look forward to your finished product, and I will try to get you those pictures this weekend. I don't have much time to give my thoughts, but I can summarize. The movie was EPIC and AWESOME to say the least, especially regarding the whole Pandora world. I absolutely loved all of the fictional creatures and I found myself ogling at the various glowing plants, strange lizards which fly by spinning their wings in a rapid canopy above them, awesome six legged horses, and floating mountains among other things. The story over-all was solid, even though you knew what was going to happen pretty much from the get-go. I love stories of the under dogs beating up on the big bad guys with the advanced weapons and technology. The characters were cool, and I really liked it how the band of half a dozen or so "went rogue" so to speak and rebelled against the military to help out the Na'vi. My favorite was the female helicopter pilot (forgot her name) who went into battle at the end in war paint like the Na'vi and even painted her ship to match! Speaking of the finale, it was climactic and epic; I liked it how there was a combination of large scale battle but also one-on-one there at the very end. So, yeah. Awesome movie; I definitely wouldn't mind seeing it again. Of course, it definitely had it's downsides (language being the main one), but there were positive things about it too (aside from the epic factor). I was hesitant to see it the first time, but I must say, I loved it! -EF

Might I just point out that there is a fundamental difference between hating math and hating to do math. You see, without that fine subject we would definitely be bereft of many, many of the modern technological advances that we enjoy today. Computers would not exist, and therefor by extension *gasp!* BZPower would not exist either. It is one thing for you to hate doing the subject, but to hate it entirely? That's different, and not very healthy. (note that you didn't say it Niki, a few other members did though) I for one enjoy the subject. -EF

Well I have my most squirrelly moments when I've been indoors and reading alot for the past several days and I have a very large amount of built-up energy that simply needs to be expelled somewhere. That's when the random moments of goofiness begin coming on, and I start to bounce all over the place. I totally know where you're coming from about the foraging moments though. I do those all the time. -EF

Nifty. I wish BIONICLE sets had gotten as complex and involved. Ah well. Nice purchase! I especially like the red one's color scheme and face. lol, the green one's face looks confused. So, do the little robots get in the chest of the larger ones to control them? It looks that way... -EF

I still would like to know any thoughts you guys have on my current project! @ staff: this is not a comments drive; I simply want to know what my fellow MoCists have to say on the topic. Since I posted this last week, I have fixed the lower legs so that they integrate more technic, and I think I've got a good upper leg design.I still need to change the arm cannon and add a head. The back isn't done yet either. We're getting close! (all of that ^^^ in response to the first comments) Please forgive the picture quality. They are WIP pix after all.
