The pilot episode of Gotham. Not really a Batman fan (my entire experience with Batman is the back half of Dark Knight), but the people involved got me interested. Enjoyable enough that I'll be coming back next week.

So, uh, That Aldnoah season finale. Mostly one of the better episodes, IMO, but then the ending happened, and they did one of the things I really was hoping wouldn't happen. And the wait for January begins...

Yeah, but Wii fit added an extra $100 or so. As for starting a Final Fantasy- I'd reccomend anything from 6-10, though 6 and 7 are usually the two people bring up as the best. They can be done in any order, as they all stand alone, and even if there are multiple games set within the same story, they have the same Roman numeral (X and X-2, for example).

Zelda 1 didn't age as well as Nintendo's other big NES games, IMO, like Metroid or Super Mario Bros. Although that could just be the fact that I don't really like any of the 2D Zelda games. I also don't get digital Wii Fit U. I'd bet a really big chunk of people who cared about Wii Fit at some point or another don't care about the new version, as those were the people who bought the Wii as a $350 exercise machine (and I know SO MANY people who did that). And Tokyo Game Show is happening. THAT FINAL FANTASY XV TRAILER. Of course, I've said the same thing about any new info on that game for the past nine or so years, but still. The fact that a demo is coming in March is certainly something I'm looking forward to.

One-Week friends was actually one of the many shows I was planning on following this spring, but just never got around to (so far I've gotten through one show from that backlog, have 8 to go), I'll probably watch it after I finish Nagi no Asukara. Also, speaking of my spring backlog, anyone have thoughts on Chaika? Might watch that before the second season starts.

Here's my current rankings for this season, not expecting it to change much with a lot of stuff having only an episode or two left and some things already over: 1. Aldnoah.Zero 2. Fate/kaleid liner 3. Sword Art Online II 4. Rail Wars 5. Jinsei 6. Glasslip 7. Sailor Moon Crystal 8. Black Butler: Book of Circus 9. Persona 4 the Golden Animation Aldnoah dropped off in quality between episodes 9-10, although I felt that 11 picked it up and got it headed in the right direction. At least the 9-10 cliffhanger (which I felt was pretty bad writing) seems to have been mostly been forgotten (which, ironically, also feels like more bad writing. But I hate it less.). Annoyed that it's ending this week, and we have to wait until January for the second half... Kaleid liner was exactly what I expected after the first season, pretty much just more of the same, which turned out well. And, of course, it ended with the announcement of another season. Betting this is gonna become an annual summer show, with the next part of 2wei! coming out next summer and 3rei! coming out 2016. However, this show really makes me like Illya. Which is why it's so cruel for Unlimited Blade Works to air next season (even though I'm pretty excited for that). SAO2 is a pretty good action anime. When it is an action anime. The long character interactions kinda bore me to death (although in the novels, they are infinitely more tolerable and actually decent, IMO), but the promise of that inevitable action scene keeps me going. I'm just kinda disappointed that we haven't gotten anything like episode 2 yet, and I doubt the final battle is gonna be as great as that. Rail Wars is the stupid fanservicey harem action comedy I inevitably watch every season, but with trains. And there's a part of me that just loves trains, so the infodumps and train stuff in general actually make this pretty enjoyable for me. As for the rest of the shows... Jinsei has just been a pretty enjoyable comedy so far, although nothing really special; Glasslip is one of my first slice-of-life dramas, and I've generally enjoyed it; I've probably just been focused on how bad Sailor Moon Crystal looks to actually notice much good about it, although I felt the latest episode picked everything up a pit (mostly due to the introduction of Sailor Best Girl Jupiter); Black Butler kinda fell apart for me around halfway through; and P4GA is bear-ly watchable, unless you're already pretty familiar with P4, and even then it's still a total mess. Anyways, I'm hoping to finish Nagi no Asukara and Code Geass between seasons (the only time I ever really watch non-airing shows unless I find something really great), and I might watch Danganronpa since I just finished the second game (although I'm kinda worried It'll be nothing when compared to the game).

Peach is getting banned from online play (in For Glory mode, which is Final Destination/No Items) in Smash 4 in Japan, the game thinks that her Down+B is an item, and as such the game thinks Peach players are hackers. For some reason I find this situation extremely hilarious. But I hope it gets fixed for the worldwide releases.

Played Smash 4 WITH NO TOP SCREEN. All I know is that I came in last, and the two CPUs did Sudden Death, which took about 15 seconds. I'm not even sure if I even got any hits, because I was (attempting) to use the D-Pad to move. Took half the battle to figure out that I was just taunting. Anyways, from the email:

Anyways, I'm starting to feel the urge to play Melee and Smash 64, still haven't unlocked everyone in those... You can unlock everything in Smash 64 in, like, an hour. I know. I just play it so rarely because I got it after I already had Melee and Brawl. Also, if you are a Club Nintendo member who got Platinum status last year, well then congratulations, you have 4 download codes for the Smash 4 demo! ... I kinda want to use mine now, even though my top screen is dead... At last, I can finally experience the menu! At least my replacement 3DS is coming in Monday, so I only have to wait through the weekend to play it.

I've currently got 5 shows lined up to watch next season, Amagi Brilliant Park, Fate/stay night, Inou-Battle, Trinity Seven, and World Trigger. Most excited for Amagi Brilliant Park because I'm a fan of Shoji Gatoh, least excited for World Trigger because the manga feels like it's gone virtually nowhere and Toei is doing the animation. It just jumped into a drawn-out Shonen Jump battle too soon where very, very little has been happening (I think at least the past month of chapters has covered an entire two minutes). Seraph of the End is the Jump anime I'm really looking forward to, although that's still a ways off. Also, only 1 announcement left for A Certain Magical Index's 10-year anniversary! If it isn't Index season 3 I'm gonna flip.

Ugh, my 3DS finally went on me... It isn't completely dead, but the top screen is incredibly glitchy and it'll randomly exit sleep mode for a few seconds while closed, among all of it's previous problems... Guess I won't be waiting for the new model to get a replacement, as I've already made plans with friends to pick up Smash on release day... I'd send it in to Nintendo for repairs, but I've yet to have a good experience with that service...

Well, I just finished Paniponi Dash!, and considering how much I like these type of shows, I'm pretty surprised I haven't watched it sooner. The randomness, the pop culture references, the destruction of the fourth wall, the general insanity... It easily shot itself up to being one of my favorite comedy anime series, but now that it's over, I'm not quite sure what to do... Maybe I'll finally break open my School Rumble DVDs and watch that for the fifth or so time (or suggestions?). Also, I finished the second Sword Art Online novel earlier today. So far I'm liking the novels far more than the anime, especially since the second novel is the collection of the single short stories, and as such they don't feel so awkwardly paced, as they did when they were jammed into the first arc of the anime.

An SD game in an HD collection? That's just... Wrong. Anyways, picked up Assassin's Creed (finally starting this series) and Metal Gear Rising: Revengance today. Haven't touched AC yet, but Metal Gear is a blast, as expected from Platinum. Probably going to start AC tomorrow and see why everyone likes this game.

I felt that time travel absolutely ruined that game. Made me try and rush through parts of the game, so I felt the sense of freedom I have in every other Zelda game was severely restricted. Anyways, I recently got Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment, decent JRPG that has a sometimes awkward MMO interface (mostly because It's single player only, with the exception of local multiplayer), but the English translation... Surprised at how awful it is, it wavers from decent to incomprehensible babble. Wouldn't be surprised if they just used the English translation from the Asian version of the game to save some money, but I'd think they'd at least run the script past someone who is good with English, if only to correct all the misspelled words. Although, at times it gets so nonsensical that it's hilarious.

An interesting note is that he's apparently not writing it anymore though. Not sure if that's changed or if the writer is following guidance or what... But I believe it was said at some convention that he handed over the writing to somebody else to focus on finishing Gaim. ~|ET|~ He only wrote the first 3 episodes, but he did do the overarching plot. Although interestingly, he was pretty hands-off with the characters. Anyways, turns out the ending of episode 9 was just

Oh snap. Oh my freaking snap. That ending to the newest Aldnoah. The Urobuchi is strong with this one.

I'm kinda hoping it's just someone at Nintendo saying, "Hey, let's give everything we release stupid names because millions of people will buy our products anyways!" Instead of an actual marketing team giving the Nintendo Seal of Approval to these names (does that even exist anymore?). They should go back to basics, since its basically to the 3DS as the Game Boy Color was to the Game Boy, they could call it the 3DS CPU. Or maybe the 3DS Pro. Heck, I'd probably even like 3DS 4 more. That name would go nicely with Smash Bros. 4.

Dunno, but when it first started acting up, it shut off when I closed it instead of going to sleep. I think it might be from hitting my leg on something (there's a small dent/crack on the upper housing, and some other cracks in other places). Also, the cameras don't work, DS games/DSi Ware doesn't work (system crashes whenever I try to use those features), the X button is halfway dead, and it has those annoying scratches on the top screen because I never got a screen protector. I've rarely used my 3DS since I got my Vita, though, which is probably the only reason I've put up with all this. Only thing that bugs me about the redesign is the C-Stick, really wonder how that's gonna work. Hope it's at least as good as the CPP, because if it isn't, I won't be playing Resident Evil or MGS on the New 3DS. It does make me wonder, though, since Smash 4 was featured on the New 3DS, if there's gonna be C-Sticking in the 3DS version. Also, I just have to say something about the name: what the French toast?!? I can see calling it the New 3DS before an official name is released, but... That's the official name? I can't decide wether Nintendo is just getting lazy with naming things or this is part of their amazingly genius marketing plan.

I'm down for a new 3DS, mine's nearly dead anyways and needs to be replaced, and I'm pretty sure it can hold out until early 2015. Glad there are two models, I like the normal 3DS better than the XL just because it fits nicely in my pockets. Also, Xenoblade for new 3DS. Quite excited for this, it's a good game that too few people played over here to do the insanely small production run.

Shulk confirmed for Smash 4. No surprise (especially considering leaks, which some people don't know how not to spoil), what's more surprising is that it's also confirmed to be rated E10+. Well, there go my hopes of Bayonetta ever making it into the roster. Anyways, Shulk looks like an interesting character, standard sword guy who can apparently shift between being a Speed/Defense/Power character. Hello new main.

Yep. I remember when arcades were actually pretty common. There's a place near me with a MvC machine and a few movie theaters with some games, but the closest actual arcade to me closed about 10 years ago. I really wish arcades would make a comeback, but I seriously doubt that could happen.

It's the first official one, though. I wonder what the roster will be like, as there are well over 500+ Pokemon and I doubt even 1/10 of those will be used.

Can't really see that not happening, probably in a year or so. Acrades are pretty much QA testing grounds for fighters so they can get fine-tuned for console release. Anyways, Pokken seems pretty cool. First time in ages I'm actually excited for a Pokemon game.
