  1. The group formerly known as Bionicle: Next Generation might be a good place to start looking at, otherwise i'm sure there are a few others who have made 3D models.

Thing about the 3D models is, as long as you have some sort of modeling program (like the free Blender) you can scale them to whatever size you want.

  2. I definitely agree with the people bringing up that matoran can have multiple occupations; Also it seemed that a few of the occupations in MNOG weren't mentioned or even thought of yet, such as flax-weaving and the like... It totally makes sense that these matoran would all be on Mata Nui, but with the early years's reputation with mask continuity (and if I'm not mistaken aren't the Templar games considered semi-canon?), I don't think that we should be trying to force connections. :P

(hey guys let's canonize names for all the kakama-wearing ga-matoran)

  3. MNOG was intended for a CD release at some point in 2002, and this is when Templar tweaked the game, adding a main menu system and episode select to replace the old save system, making it playable offline (and they also removed mention of Papu and Rangi). As far as I know, LEGO never got around to releasing the CD, instead putting it up for download on the Bionicle website a couple years later (in the Kanoka Club, i think?), then once more around 2006 after Templar removed all use of the word "tohunga".

  4. Of the old constraction sets, the Mata are very simple in design, not having much posability or individuality to the sets, but definitely have cool design and workable play function. The Nuva added a couple more play functions with the dual-purpose tools, but were more or less the same build as the mata but with added shell pieces (and worse masks, ugh. I get they were trying to go for more organic, but..). I don't own all of the Adaptive Armour sets, but they are for sure the most advanced designs of the Olda, featuring such revolutionary ideas as bendable limbs, individual design, and masks that don't come off. I had mentioned in a separate topic that I really really liked the Mahri, having that everyone's-different-but-they-fit-as-a-team design, while the AA definitely don't have that. The sky three are smooth and shiny, with bulky jetpacks and long tools, while the swamp three are muted colours, have a rougher texture to some of their parts, opting instead for jet turbine pieces and two-handed blasters (or in tahu's case a shield too, since apparently having a mask for that isn't enough). In the groups of three they look good, but with all six (or eight if you have the vehicles) they just don't mesh well. Their blasters are even different! From a design standpoint I award my vote to the Toa Mata, from a playability standpoint I award it to the Adaptive Armour Toa Nuva.

Even though the CBBS Masters blow them both away. :P

  5. To be fair, the minigame is pretty much an RPG to begin with, them going to this length with it seems completely understandable :P Now if only they had more time in the past to add more of what was planned for the episodes (like the Kofo-Jaga nest and the hunt for Onua), maybe they'd've been able to recycle other Rahi assets alluded to in the Company's chatter between fights. (The ones mentioned are Kuma-Nui [not sure], Nui Kopen [air], Kofo-Jaga [fire], and Sand Tarakava [stone].)
