Depending on the amount of entries, there could be different categories, which would probably separate digital and hand-drawn comics in some way (possibly more specifically than that). I suppose it's possible that a theme might require separate categories as well.I thought Tapika's idea on a panel requirement was interesting. Does anyone else have an opinion on that (maximum, minimum, or both)? What about categories? Any ideas on that?

Well, the forums have been back for a while now, and we've been thinking it was about time we had a Comics contest—the first Comics-only contest. So now we're looking for feedback from you guys. Do you have theme ideas? Is there anything you think should be a part of a contest here? We'd love to hear any feedback you have to offer.and no this has nothing to do with bonesiii's topic

I'm not sure there's enough activity for there to be multiple categories. Artwork isn't very active, and the last contest in BBC, which has higher activity, had less than twenty entries. Maybe it could have two (Bionicle-HF and System?), but I think more than that would split the entries too much.In Pohuaki's suggestions topics, it seemed like the idea of working in groups was well-received. That might be something to try out, but it could cut down the number of entries even more.

Fascinating news. I'll be interested in seeing it play out.

That's when a moderator lowers your proto level. Your proto level is indicated by the bar beneath your post count. It's starts out at zero (in the middle), and can either go up (for good things like helping out in Q&A) or down (for breaking rules) depending on your actions. You can read more about proto in these topics. If you have any questions about it, you can ask them in the second one as well. What is protozapping =S?

Apparently, that special page is a Wikia extension, not a normal part of MediaWiki. I took out the link to it. It's not much of an issue; new pages can still be created through traditional means like clicking a red link or searching for the title of the page you want to make. Since those aren't always apparent as ways to make pages, though, I added a createbox to the bottom of the main page.

That list has actions that "may" cause someone to lose proto. In most cases (except for extreme situations), one would get a warning or explanation the first time they break a rule, or multiple times if it's something minor. Someone who doesn't just doesn't know how proto and getting boosts work wouldn't be punished. My impression is that the problems with people asking for proto were mostly in the past; in some old topics there are posts by mods about members repeatedly sending them PMs/IMs asking for proto. Something like that would cause them to lose proto. I don't think that happens as much now, but it's still possible, so it's still in the topic.

The board does that to prevent double posts made within a certain time frame. You'll need to wait a while before you add a post. According to the Epics forum rules, you need to wait twelve hours between posts, and that'll be outside of the board's merge time.

So glad the move is done. One thing you might notice is that page histories only have two edits (in most cases). One is the last edit made to the page on Wikia, and the other is the page being imported. We didn't move all of the page histories because that would mean working with a massive xml file; using the last-edit file made the process much easier. And if you had an account on Wikia, register with the same username on the new wiki. If you don't like the name, it can be changed (PM Tav or me, or leave a message on one of our talk pages--probably me). The reason for this is that we want the edits that have moved over to be attributed correctly, and the easiest way to do that is for people to register with their original names. Finally, search suggestions are back, and the registration problem should be fixed now. Please post if you're having problems with those (or anything else).

I think it's most likely dead. Lewa11 hasn't been on BZP since February 2010, and his last post regarding the project was in 2006 (archive link). You could try contacting him about it, but it's unlikely that you'd get a response.

Looking at recent reports, the latest post you made in that topic was spam; it was a generic post. Posts in the Comics forum should give feedback specific to the comic(s), more than something like "good job," which could be applied to anything.

If it isn't Lego-related, yes. If it is Lego-related, it should go in Short Stories. So this goes in the COT forum? I might write something, I have a great Pre-Apocalypse/Mystery idea, but I'm just about out of time. Curse mountains of homework!

I don't have Mario Kart 7 yet, but I'm probably going to get it for Christmas or sometime after that.It looks good, although I'm not a fan of their driver selection. I'd rather have someone like Dry Bones again than, say, Metal Mario. I like Shy Guy, though. Also, in regards to the retro courses, I don't care for their Wii picks. Koopa Cape, Mushroom Gorge, and especially Maple Treeway were some of my least favorites from the Wii game. But I love their DS/Gamecube courses, particularly Dino Dino Jungle. Also, I was wondering, how does driving underwater compare to the usual driving? It sounds like it could be pretty awkward.

The banner that's there is temporary. And there's a decent chance there will be options there are enough worthy submissions (once they start accepting them). As for the poll, I voted options. I would like Tohu back, I suppose, but I don't really care what's there as long as it isn't something huge and annoying. Having options would allow more people to get what they want.

Happy birthday, MM! Hope you've had a good day. =)

We just watched A Christmas Story, which made finals week infinitely better.

Comics Contest Suggestions

I'd rather have polls, personally; I'd hope that people could vote objectively in a contest. Comics generally don't take long to read, unlike the stories in Library contests (I'm not sure if any other contests have judges?), so it's not too much for people to read through everything. That might be too optimistic, I suppose, but I'd like to think it would work out.
