  1. And perhaps more importantly, how kindly is Lego likely to take a fan project asking for funding? Because some IP holders can be real jerks even about non-profit fanworks(Exhibit A: Nintendo's treatment of Metroid AM2R and Pokemon Uranium among others).

That's just how Nintendo is. They got pretty salty over Project M, that one Super Smash Bros. Brawl mod that gained critical acclaim. I have Project M; it was free even though I had to buy the SD card to get it. All Nintendo ever did about PM was ban everyone from discussing it on any/all of their official forums. However, LEGO is a different company and what they do in response to this project is up to them, of course.

Other than that, I'd be interested in seeing some of the cool stuff you're working on, Dark_Stranger.

  2. Man, if Dark709 catches up with Takuatheavrahk, he'll get out of his funk for sure. If you remember how Dark handled GSes, you could almost call him a sadist. Sadists get a high off of the suffering of others, after all.

It wasn't LEGO Tetris after all? You've betrayed me, LEGO. I'm officially boycotting your products until you give into my unreasonable demands! You'd better take a picture because you won't be seeing this handsome face for a long time!

Ahem. The definitive satire here has already been written, back in 2003: http://news.lugnet.com/general/?n=43860
Not gonna lie; I need to read all that. It sounds like some good satire. However, the main difference is that I'm refusing to outright buy LEGO's products while the unhappy customer(s) are still buying them. I'm revolutionizing the series of complaints. That's how next-gen my complaining is. :D
  4. The head looks just like the one from the sets, yet the body looks stylized. However, they actually blend really well, for some reason. The head looks so darn smooth compared to the shins and forearms, but they still look like they go together! It's mind-boggling, but I'm very impressed. I really like this piece and if this is just for fun, then you're a talented artist.

  6. Last night, I had a dream where my family wanted to be friends with another family, so we broke into their house and backyard and poked through their belongings to find anything they had in common with us. During our search for clues, they arrived home, so we had to escape. Luckily, everyone in the other family except for their senile grandma just sat in the car, allowing my family and I to slip past the granny. By the end of the dream, we actually became friends with the other family.

A girl I knew from high school hopped out. I haven't seen her in months because she went to college out of state, which applies to the dream and real life. My dream counterpart and me missed her terribly and we shared a nice hug before texting about our lives instead of hanging out.

This basically describes my life right now.
Dang, bro. You like this girl you're referring to? Cuz I liked the girl featured in my dream.
Yes I do like this girl. She is perfect, cute, smart, Bionicle Whovian who's a band nerd.
Basically me but with better common sense.

I accidentally set up a date with her 2 years in advance.
If you more details go to the "what are you thinking?" topic.
I basically posted everything about my crazy potential relationship on it.

Sounds like you can pick 'em better than I can! :P That I know and I have significant degrees of immaturity, which affects our common senses.

Oh, I've read a little about that! You've gotten on a pretty unique roller coaster, my friend.

  8. Last night, I had a dream where I was chilling on a bed, fiddling with a Mega Bloks Halo figure while my dad tried to lecture me on my spending habits. I reassured him that I buy my Halo figures responsibly and that they wouldn't cut too deeply into my pay checks. I wonder if that means I'm afraid that I can't collect the Halo figures anymore. Anyway, after the fatherly words of wisdom, I go outside and I appear to be in a rural area. The dirt is moist and the skies are really cloudy. A minivan pulls up near me and I girl I knew from high school hopped out. I haven't seen her in months because she went to college out of state, which applies to the dream and real life. 9. I like the story a lot so far, and your effects are getting better each comic.

Thanks! I really think you'll like the story more as it goes on and I'm glad you're liking the effects. It's interesting to learn how to do new stuff in GIMP and time great to see my comics improve visually.

Also, thank you for showing up to read the comic after that little hiatus and I hope you'll stick around for more!

  10.

try one that was CYBER based (grayblack/glowing green like a hacker) (electric & psyche)

(no on saying that 6 of them) (misleaded)

    Sure!

So, you want three Hunters or what?

    six hunters

Alright. I've already completed one and I'll get to work on some others.

Is there a due date on the designs?

I have a feeling that Dark Hunters will figure out that we have the crystal and just drop by anyway. But hey, more fight scenes!

well I got bed news for you, I am on an ART BLOCK! why? because my brain cant even think about an idea design for the members of the dark-hunter gang. (D9) because I have other stuff to let it all out, Christmas comic (for reals), myst style game making, Christmas stuff. while I am doing stuff whatever.

I need each and every one of your art ideas, for making a dark hunter members for the comics. winner gets there ideas in the comic as a PGS enemy and to give credit. okay good.

Oh, I was actually gonna offer my help anyway! I'll have to see what I can do after work! :)

EDIT: How many designs can I submit?

i think 6 of them in different shapes and sizes. and opposite colors of the toa,

    cyan/gray, grayblue/purple, white/black, violet/aliengreen, yellow/black, green/red,

because we have the 3 of them planned out.

So, you want three designs? I can do that.

  13. Man, it's been over 3 months! I'm sorry, guys! Here's the third comic. I'm sorry it's so short; I'm mentally revising some story details and I wanted to get the comic out. I'll try and make the fourth comic a little more plot-heavy. In the meantime, happy holidays!

  14. Halo 2 and Halo 3 were originally planned to be one game, but time constraints forced Bungie to split their original plans in two. Marty O'Donnell, the composer for almost all the Halo games, claimed that all the resources needed to make Halo 2's original ending are tucked away in some archives.

Dragon Ball Z is responsible for the longest-running fight in anime history. The fight, Goku vs. Frieza, took over three hours to reach a conclusion. In the in-universe events of the fight, it actually only took five minutes!

There are rumors of life possibly living on Mars long ago before dying out. If I remember correctly, there's bacteria there today.

Sonic Heroes almost ended up being Sonic Adventure 3.

The critically acclaimed Gravity Falls was going to last for three seasons, but was shortened down to two.

  15. Imma put my hopeless dream for a Halo theme aside and pick a different video game line as my answer for this topic.

    Strider.

A ninja man with awesome hair and gear running around cities and bases cutting robots in half would make for a good theme, even if it's only for one year. In the 2014 game alone, there are lots of cool vehicles, locations, and enemies that could make for some good sets. Recreate a boss fight in the city district, have Strider Hiryu dodging a subway train as he attacks a squad of robots, or have him flying on his hang glider into a construction site in the snowy mountains. The possibilities for a Strider theme are already looking pretty good, right? It gets better. While Hiryu is the only playable character in the 2014 game, there were other Striders running around and fighting robots before being killed. To keep Hiryu from being the only hero in all the sets, mix things up with the fallen Striders; recount their final moments in set form before Hiryu arrives to pick up where they left off.

Additionally, set designers can go earlier than the 2014 for further inspiration. Before 2014, Strider Hiryu's battled evil forces in the Amazon rainforest, snowy mountaintops, Egypt, Japan, and even space stations, allowing for a variety of scenes to be recreated in LEGO bricks.

Also, since LEGO Star Wars has proven that human characters won't look like absolute garbage in CCBS, Strider could have a companion CCBS line. Strider Hiryu would be mandatory, and the Kuniang team, Solo in his classic armors and 2014 armor, Strider Hien, and some of the robot soldiers from the 2014 game could all be worthy candidates for CCBS renditions.

I know the line would never happen, and others have dreamed before me, only to fail to make it a reality. However, a fan can dream, right? The line sounds like an amazing idea to me, but yeah, it's a long shot.

  16. The infamous video game Shadow the Hedgehog was supposed to be released with a T rating from ESRB. However, during its development, the E10+ rating was introduced. SEGA decided to build their then-upcoming game around that new rating instead, resulting in the tame and laughable edge-fest that the internet loves to slam.

According to Akira Toriyama, some of the major villains in Dragon Ball Z were inspired by real people, such as real estate speculators and his editors.

While on the subject of Dragon Ball Z and its editors, it's said that the editors urged Akira Toriyama to continue the series whenever he tried to set it up for an ending. Throughout all of Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z, observant readers of the manga (or watchers of the anime) can actually spot potential endings throughout the sagas.

There is/was a religion based around bacon. Whether it's satire or not, the thought had still crossed people's minds.

The video game Halo 3: ODST (Xbox 360 version) actually teases the video game Destiny by putting up a poster of Earth captioned "Destiny Awaits" in the game. Both games were created by Bungie and have been released five years apart. Considering Halo: Reach would be released after ODST, Bungie was really thinking ahead! Additionally, the Master Chief Collection version of the game did not retain the Easter egg.

  17. Let's not omit the fact that there's probably a hundred police HQs in the city. Not jails, but HQs. The police are so omnipresent, that they have full-on HQs on every block.

On a more lighthearted note, at least people like their boating. Sure, escaped convicts like going out on the water every once in a while, but so do the innocent citizens. If I remember correctly, there are some nice speedboat sets.

  18. While some kind of special anniversary celebration would have been cool, I've never lost sleep over it and I will continue that pattern. See, if there's not gonna be an official celebration, the fans will have to celebrate it themselves in their own ways. If I wanted to celebrate BIONICLE's anniversary that badly, I would have just bought old sets in honor of the previous years or something.

Has LEGO ever celebrated or really even mentioned the anniversaries of any of their lines? I can't think of any time they have.

Star Wars is the only one I can think of, but it's a licensed theme, so make of that what you will. For all we know, LucasArts probably reminded LEGO about Star Wars anniversaries or something.
  19. Actually, I like your suggestion for a Bohrok-Kal remake. Nowadays, people like to blast those sets solely for being clone sets, so I think remakes of all six would have some fan support. Also, Bohrok-Kal are stronger, upgraded Bohrok, so a new look could reflect that. You're onto something, if you ask me.

As for what I would like to see remakes of, I'd say the 2008 Matoran, the Agori, the Glatorian, and the Stars. Anything with the Agori build can work as an impulse buy and a chance to get a kid's feet wet with BIONICLE, but they could have been so much more. If anything, the Protectors of 2015 are something like what the Agori should have been. As for the Glatorian, the designers played it too safe with the spammed Inika builds. They were cool on the Inika and I guess the Mahri, but by 2009, the designers should have gotten past it or at least improved on it.
