  1. IC: Kadon - Ga-Wahi Coast What, what? It was that easy? The fight was just... over? Oddly, I kinda missed it. I've probably been in the hospital for too long. I shifted uncomfortably, avoiding looking directly at Drome. "I wouldn't say broke. I just, uh, don't have any money." I didn't like admitting it- I had absolutely nothing. No home, no cash... the only thing I seemed to have, through some cruel twist of fate, was Drome. Ugh. Just thinking that made me shudder. Drome did have a point, though, and I hadn't come here to fight with him anyway. Reluctantly, I shook his hand and summoned the willpower to repeat what Drome had said. "Truce." I sighed and sat down in the shady spot that Drome had previously occupied, leaning back as I thought. "We'll probably be done with this more quickly if we work together. Which means we're stuck with each other. Again. Which we're both so thrilled about. Regardless, we need to make a lot of money fast...." I let my sentence trail off into silence. The only option that seemed available was to get a job somewhere, and that didn't appeal to me at all. I'd have to settle down somewhere, and go do things for someone I probably wouldn't like for what would probably be horrible pay for what would probably be an eternity! An eternity with Drome..... I shuddered again. I smirked just a bit and glanced at Drome. "Any bright ideas?" Anything's possible, after all.
  2. IC: Kadon - Ga-Wahi Coast In hindsight, I really should have seen it coming. Drome's amplified insult hit me hard, knocking me down into the sand. The whole world rang with a screaming, high-pitched noise and I felt dizzy, but I rolled to the side and leaped to my feet, expecting Drome to be following up with another attack. At the moment, he wasn't, so I steadied myself. I wanted nothing more than to fry Drome into a crisp, to give him a taste of my electricity that he wouldn't soon forget. I grabbed my sickles, gripping them tightly and trying to control myself. Actually, there was something I wanted more than hurting Drome, and sadly, getting into a fight wouldn't make it easier. "Look, Drome," I said, yelling so that I could hear myself over the ringing, "as much as I would love to beat you into a pulp, you know what I want more? To get away from you! And you know when that's going to happen? When I have enough money to pay off my medical bills! So just admit it and pay up so I don't have to see your ugly mug ever again!" Part of me really wanted to fight Drome, but a bigger part of me didn't want to risk ending up in the hospital again. The last thing I needed for the bill to get any bigger!
  3. I've more-or-less been around since the first reboot of the RPG, back when Friar Tuck was active and Xa-Koro was the seat of a faction that worshiped Makuta. I vanished several months ago at least- not long after the island full of crystals was revealed, I believe. I should probably stop clogging up the discussion topic, though. Feel free to message me if you have more questions. =)
  4. OOC: When it comes to Kadon and Drome, there's always violence on the horizon. Incidentally, I've decided to use a darker shade of green for Kadon- that lime color is downright painful. IC: Kadon - Ga-Wahi Coast I felt a surge of anger as Drome let loose his latest insult. It wasn't nearly as clever as mine, of course, but Drome had a special way of aggravating me with every single thing he did, like he was sandpaper constantly grinding away at my patience. Granted, that sandpaper had a mace, but I wasn't going to let him intimidate me. "As I recall, you were the one who jumped to the INSANE conclusion that they were a gang of criminals, which got us into the fight in the first place! That certainly takes a lot of intelligence, doesn't it?" Of course, that I had believed him was beside the point. Yeah. I couldn't help but smirk more as I anticipated how much my next retort would sting. "Really, Drome, if you're so fond of insulting others, then you should learn to take a few insults yourself. It might help you pull off that 'tough guy' act for once in your life." I began walking away, trying to look casual and be quick at the same time. I didn't want to be within range of that mace.
  5. Good to see you too, Snelly! Now, I just have to figure out who is who...
  6. I'M ALIVE! Mostly. Need to fix up an avatar. Haha, good to see you guys! Sorry for randomly vanishing- My life has been rather hectic of late, and my memory is not exactly my strongest point. I had no idea that any of you would remember me! January 2010? I know I was gone for a while, but it hasn't been that long. XD
  7. IC: Kadon - Ga-Wahi Coast I narrowed my eyes, clenching my hands into fists. Drome was smirking infuriatingly as he suggested that I was responsible for the accident, that I owed money to him! Of course, I had expected this. Expecting Drome to act like anything resembling a decent person was nigh insanity. "Oh, I'm supposed to apologize and pay off debts, am I? Drome, this is a new intellectual low for you: You've actually managed to get the two of us mixed up! I almost feel sorry for you," I said, my voice dripping with sarcasm as a smirk of my own appeared on my face. "Really, though, I'm impressed. I didn't know that it was possible to be any less intelligent than you were before the fight." You know, it hadn't really occurred to me before how perfectly Drome's appearance fit his personality. Drome's armor was appalling- it was teal and orange, a horrific combination of colors that brought to mind a rotten, moldy fruit more than anything else. This, I was sure, was no coincidence; after all, a rotten, moldy orange perfectly summed up all of the charm and appeal possessed by my long-time companion and rival. Spikes jutted out from his shoulders, intended to stab those who came too close- again, perfectly describing the experience of being around him. Why on Mata Nui did I hang around this brute again? Oh, right. I really, really needed money.
  8. IC: Kadon I ground my teeth as I marched down the shoreline, muttering to myself. Of course, Drome had taken off without me. The great lump had tried to slip away, but there was no way I was going to let him slink off after what he did to me! The months in the hospital, the endless weeks of pain... the staggering debt I now have to pay off! It was all Drome's fault, and until he (quite literally) paid for it, he was going to be stuck with me. For a moment, I paused. Did I really want to catch up to him? It occurred to me that I could just walk away and never see the brute again. Was revenge really worth it, in the end? Of course it was! Besides, there was no way I could pay off the hospital bill by myself. And, as luck would have it, Drome was not far ahead of me. I could tell by the unnaturally loud roar that had just rolled down the coastline- almost certainly the result of Drome's sonic powers. I walked more quickly, determined to catch him, and before long I had spotted him. He was lounging under a tree, no doubt gloating to himself about how cleverly he'd lost me. Hah! I'd show him! "Drome!" I yelled, heading directly for him. I couldn't help but grin- once again, Drome had failed to outwit me.
  9. IC: Tellus Tellus, having run out of the money he had taken to the tavern, had returned to the 'Vika while Lohkar and the others went on their walk. Somehow, he'd found his way to his bunk and was just falling asleep when he heard faint voices through an open porthole. Something about treasure and a relationship. With a groan, Tellus stood up and made his way to the deck, his tricorne sitting on his head at an odd angle. The pleasant effects of the alcohol were beginning to wear off, and he could already tell that he was going to have one heck of a headache the next day. Still, he managed walk up a set of stairs, make his way across the deck, and grab a rail in time to stop himself from falling over. Tomorrow was not going to be fun at all. "What's goin' on up 'ere? Somethin' about... ice cream?"
  10. IC: Kadon I considered saying Nice to meet you, Vail, but that seemed rather.... odd so soon after zapping him with a pretty significant amount of electricity. Instead, I nodded. Vail certainly seemed to be a nice guy- not many people would be so willing to help someone who'd more-or-less been trying to kill them a few minutes ago. Then again, I wasn't in any sort of shape to do much damage by the time the fight had drawn to a close, so there wasn't much risk involved. 'Papa Ussal,' on the other hand, seemed like someone who was going to be harder to get along with. Had I been at 100%, I probably would have come up with something clever to say about him letting us bleed out, but at this point I was more concerned with getting some sort of medical attention. "Go ahead." Then I noticed the tiny ussal that had somehow worked its way up onto his head. That explained the nickname. Deciding to ask later, I instead said, "You probably want to find out how this all got started, right?"
  11. IC: Kadon Oh, thank the Great Spirit. That was a close call- too close. Gratefully, I leaned on Vail and took a deep breath. I felt drained, both mentally and physically, but this was no time to just go and take a nap. "I'm Kadon, and that great big spiky lump over there is Drome. I, um, suppose we owe you an explanation." My eyes flicked down to the increasingly painful wound on my chest, and I added, "Though I'd really appreciate it if we did something about the bleeding first."
  12. IC: Kadon I continued to inch my way away from Dodgy and more-or-less toward Drome. It wouldn't be long before my strength started to fade... With my eyes still fixed on Dodgy, I began to listen to what was going on behind me in an attempt to figure out what Drome was up to. It was the first time I'd payed any attention to his actions for what seemed like a long time, and what I heard surprised me. Drome was talking with the guy I'd kinda-sorta-accidentally zapped? Still paying close attention to Dodgy, I said, "Hey, wait a minute. Why are you two back there not trying to kill each other all of a sudden?"
  13. IC: Kadon I grimaced as the pain from the cut gradually increased. The adrenaline that'd flooded my system after I'd nearly been shot was wearing off, and I was also beginning to lose a significant amount of blood, which meant that I wasn't going to be able to keep dodging for long. I needed to either escape or end the fight, and I wasn't in a position to do either. Gradually, I began working my way in the general direction of Drome. He was my best bet for the time being, and if I could get him to help me with Dodgy, then I'd stand a chance. Speaking of Dodgy, he'd succeeded in doing just that and was beginning to line up another shot. Still, I considered it a victory- when Dodgy was dodging, he wasn't shooting me. I sent another low-power bolt his way to distract him and smiled thinly. You might win in the lethality category, I thought, but I've got speed.
  14. IC: Kadon I was greeted by the sight of an arrow flying at me, something that was very effective at galvanizing me into action. I threw all my weight off to one side, desperate to avoid the deadly projectile, but my effort was too little too late to avoid it entirely. Saying it grazed me wouldn't be entirely accurate, because the word 'graze' implies that it barely scratched me. While the arrow didn't come to a stop, it cut a fairly deep, long cut across my chest- I'd twisted sideways during my attempt to dodge, which had saved my life, but the arrow had still cut a stinging red line across my body. The second arrow missed, but just barely. If I hadn't already been throwing myself to the ground, it would have at the very least given me another cut. I jumped up almost immediately, knowing that giving Dodgy a chance to fire off another shot could very well be fatal; the cut on my chest, which was already beginning to bleed quite a bit more than I liked, was proof of that. I felt a cold feeling like that of icy water rush through my veins as I realized how very close to death I'd just come, and one thought occupied my mind: That it was time to stop messing around, time to get absolutely, deadly serious. I'd just received a very, very effective reminder that this was no game. This was a matter of survival, of do or die... and I had no intention of dying. Dodgy was visible now, crouching and preparing to fire another arrow. Had I been really thinking about it, I would have smiled: after all, I could fire off a bolt of lightning far faster than he could draw, aim and fire his bow. As it was, my response was almost entirely reaction: A thin, crackling thread of electricity shot off toward its target, and though it wasn't powerful enough to do any damage, it wasn't intended to harm Dodgy. No, its job was to throw him off balance and prevent him from firing another arrow right away, so that I could prepare something with a little bit more of a punch to send his way.
  15. Blehhh, coming down with a cold.

  16. IC: Kadon I gritted my teeth as my intended target leaped aside, annoyed that he'd seen through my clever plan. However, my attack didn't go to waste: New New Guy took the hit, and was blasted back with a rather loud, dramatic pop and a flash of light. For a second, I stared blankly at New New Guy's limp, twitching form and fought the strange urge to apologize to him: I didn't think there'd been quite that much energy in my attack, but then again, I was pretty angry at the time. Still, it was a victory for Drome and myself, and it evened the odds. Well, mostly. I was beginning to feel the drain of the fighting was putting on my elemental energy- I usually fought with my blades and my element simultaneously, instead of depending solely on one or the other. The Original New Guy (let's call him Dodgy instead) was still a big threat, and Angry was still relatively unharmed. Drome needed to step up his game and take out Angry fast if we were to stand any chance of getting out of there more-or-less in one piece. And I knew how to make it happen. I got to my feet, both to make myself more obvious to Drome and because I didn't want to remain stationary any longer, and cupped my hands around my mouth. "HEY! DROME! I GOT ONE ALREADY! WHAT'S TAKING YOU SO LONG? GETTING SLOW IN YOUR OLD AGE OR SOMETHING?" I made certain to use a taunting tone that I knew Drome found especially aggravating, and couldn't help but grin as I (hopefully) goaded him into taking things up a notch. "IF YOU NEED HELP TAKING THAT GUY DOWN, DON'T BE AFRAID TO ASK!" My brilliant plan put in motion, I spun around, looking for Dodgy. Taking my eyes off of him for any amount of time was probably a bad idea. IC: Tellus Tellus, who had managed to find the will to raise his head again, muttered, "But I don't," before slowly standing up. Though he wobbled precariously, he succeeded in staying upright. "That trick o' yer's is awfully 'andy, Cap'n. Maybe I should be a Lest'rin someday." The Toa stood there for a moment, not seeming to realize what he'd just said, then frowned. "Wait. I don't think it works like that..."
  17. IC: Geklan The Lesterin simply stood there for a few minutes, enjoying the peace of Ga-Koro and the cool night air. Eventually, he turned to face the street and just watched as streams of Ga-Koroans walked past. It was always interesting to observe the people going by, to wonder about their lives and how to sell things to them. He was just turning to go back inside when he caught a glimpse of a familiar, ornate set of armor. Both with curiosity and a faint feeling of dread, Geklan turned back around and activated his mask. That had definitely been Theriss, and she might have been coming to see how profits were doing or something like that. For once, Geklan wasn't in the mood to talk business. He was tired, he wanted to relax, and he needed to come up with new ideas. To Geklan's relief, she walked by with someone. What was his name.... LoJak? Why was he out walking with Theriss? Well, now. That was interesting. They seemed to be talking, but then again it was hardly uncommon for members of a Toa team to talk to each other. They walked out of sight before long, and Geklan deactivated his Huna. Deciding on a whim to escape from the confines of his office for a while longer, he stood outside and continued to watch as fewer and fewer villagers walked past as the village wound down for the night. Then, something unusual happened: Ga-Koro was bathed in a faint, brief glow. The source of the light were fireworks, an uncommon sight in Ga-Koro. There were some distance off... why did somebody set off fireworks? Was there a celebration he didn't know about? Did a Toa of Fire get bored or something? Who on that end of town would have a reason to set off fireworks...? Whatever. He'd think about it in the morning, maybe ask Theriss when he dropped by to ask for ideas tomorrow. It looked like they'd come from the general direction of her house...
  18. IC: Kadon I fell to the ground, hard. I made brief contact with New Guy, which meant that he got a painful little reminder to not try to punch me in the face, but it wasn't enough to knock him out of the fight. Curses. Looks like I couldn't just take the easy way out in this fight. For a second, I just laid there, feeling blood work its way down my face. My face in general hurt like Karz, but I had bigger concerns. I had to make sure that nobody killed me, of course, but more importantly I had to reduce New Guy to a pile of smoldering cinders. Nobody gets away with punching me in the face but Drome, and that's only because the guy serves as my personal punching bag. One that punches back, which is the best kind. Sort of. Not really. Either way, that's not the point. Point was, nothing was going to make me happier than seeing New Guy writhe on the ground in pain. Luckily, I had a way of making that happen: the still-significant portion of electricity crackling around my hand. Some had been used in the zap I'd given New Guy, and some had also escaped when I'd hit the ground and my focus slipped, but I'd done everything I could to retain the bulk of it. No way I was going to let all that energy go to waste when my elemental powers were my only weapon. And then a new New Guy decided to show up. One that knew New Guy and Angry. I had a thought, one that summed up the situation quite well: Ah, Karz. Then, directly afterward, something wonderful happened. Something I never thought I'd ever see: Drome being useful. He let out a sonic screech, which thankfully didn't hit me this time. I guessed that he'd let one loose from general reaction of the combatants and the faint vibrations I felt through the lily pad. Either way, the combination of the arrival of a friend and Drome's surprise no doubt served as very distracting.... distractions for Old New Guy (the one who punched me in the face), and I still had quite a bit of elemental energy all primed and ready to go. There wasn't enough there to kill him, but it was definitely going to hurt. With a vicious grin and a quietly muttered "Burn," I let the electricity fly, guiding it mentally for maximum accuracy. I mean, yeah, I'd just been punched in the face and the ringing in my ears was back and everything hurt and my vision was a bit blurry and all, but I was sure that I'd sent the bolt off with enough accuracy to hit my opponent at least part of the way. I think.
  19. IC: Kadon The new guy suddenly disappeared, and a shadow shot toward me. I realized what was happening a second too late: the fight was back on, and New Guy had taken a disliking to me. I hadn't seen a weapon in his hand before he'd disappeared, but that could easily have changed. I could try to dodge, but that wouldn't work for long against an invisible opponent, and then I'd be stuck dodging him until I figured something out. No, I had to find a way to get New Guy out of the fight, fast. As the shadow closed in on me, I poured all the elemental energy I could in the short amount of time I had left into my right hand. It probably wasn't a lethal amount, but it would certainly pack quite the punch. The plan was risky, of course. I didn't know how long this fight would be, so using a bunch of my energy on one hit was dangerous in and of itself, and I didn't know if New Guy had a weapon (which would probably result in my untimely demise), but I didn't see an alternate. I just didn't have the time to pull any fancy tricks. I grinned, electricity arcing between my fingers as I waited for New Guy to cover the last few feet, ready to execute my brilliant plan... and then Drome let loose one of his Mata-Nui-forsaken yells. He caught me off-guard, and I stumbled forward directly into the waiting fist of New Guy. (By the way, I really need to start asking for the names of the people who are trying to kill me.) As his punch connected, my hand shot forward. My head was killing me, but I was determined to make my plan work. I needed to do something about New Guy before he decided to do stuff a little more lethal than throwing punches. It would be simple enough to direct the electricity away from myself when (and if) my hand made contact... all I had to was touch New Guy and watch the fireworks.
  20. IC: Kadon I stared at the bag of money, nonplussed. That... wasn't what I had been expecting. At all. What did he think we were, hired thugs or something? Nevertheless, cash is cash. I opened my mouth, ready to accept the apology, when Drome and that Deliresi guy spoke up. Unfortunately, Deliresi (what had been his first name, again? I hadn't been paying attention) chose that moment to apologize. Darn it. Money was way better than some stupid, half-hearted apology. Drome, for his part, gave a little speech about honor, then actually said something intelligent: That these 'Sarsi' must be a criminal gang! That would explain the other one trying to pay us off perfectly well: He didn't think we were thugs, he was a thug and accepting the money was exactly what he would have done in our place! "Drome, I think you're actually right for once. I suppose we can't just walk away and leave a gang free to wreak havoc on Ga-Koro...."
  21. IC: Kadon Apparently, Drome wasn't going to tell me whether or not he'd grabbed my sickles. Whatever. I could make do with my elemental powers. Another witty comment popped into my head as Angry (as I liked to call the green Toa) made a rather hollow-sounding threat (he'd just been screaming for help, after all), but just as I was about to say it, someone spoke up. “Hey, settle down, all of you!” There was a pause as the newcomer shot a look at Angry, then added, “Go home. We don’t want any trouble. Right, Deliresi?" I narrowed my eyes. Was this one of the people Angry had been trying to attract with his cries for help? The newcomer certainly seemed to know Angry. Either way, Newcomer seemed to be somewhat reasonable, unlike his apparent friend. Still, I scoffed at the idea of just 'going home.' "Go home? Yeah, maybe that would have worked before this 'great Deliresi' started throwing whatever the Karz those disk things are at us and doing his best to bind me and my friend here together with metal bands. But now? Now we're way past just going home. So, if you'll stand aside," I said, grinning menacingly at Angry, "we have some business to finish."
  22. IC: Kadon The wind was knocked out of me when Drome landed on me, and my arm was in an extremely painful position, but I didn't think anything was broken... yet. I grimaced, prepared for some serious pain. However, I found myself pleasantly surprised. Drome, for once, showed a glimmer of intelligence and found a way to remove the metal without breaking any bones. It still hurt, but it was better than the alternative. "I don't suppose you grabbed my sickles," I groaned. IC: Geklan Geklan stood outside in the fresh air, breathing deeply. It was nice to escape from the paperwork, from the confines of his home. Sure, he was just standing in the street, but it was better than nothing. He'd chosen to wear his Kanohi Huna on his walk. He wanted to get away for a bit, and being a little uncomfortable was worth escaping the attentions of anyone he might happen to run into. Slowly, he made his way to a portion of the street that had a decent view of the ocean and stared at it, thinking. Sales for the merchandise were beginning to level off. Not necessarily a bad thing, but before long he'd need something new, something fresh. The Lesterin sighed as he cycled through ideas. Maybe he'd have to visit Theriss tomorrow... he needed something, anything that could sell. That Team Theriss and Team Barthel idea still had some merit to it...
  23. IC: Kadon I felt a deep sense of satisfaction over inflicting pain on Angry, which probably wasn't a good thing, but whatever. Point was, he was going to think twice before throwing one of those disk things at me! I watched as he shakily stood up and grabbed two of those disk-thingies (I should really find out what their actual name is), and took a second to realize that I'd probably only encouraged him to throw more of those things at me. Hmm. Well, another brilliant plan gone tragically astray. Knowing that there was no way Drome was going to dodge those, and no way that I'd be able to blast them out of the air, there was only one choice: I was going to have to take one for the team. I hate it when that happens. Still slung over Drome's shoulder, I pushed myself off with my free hand and threw all my weight away from Drome at the same time. The idea? Force Drome to the ground by upsetting his balance, allowing us to dodge Angry's attack. Unfortunately, that meant that my arm, which was stuck to Drome, was in for a world of hurt. As I executed my plan, I also yelled, "Drome, grab the arm that's attached to your face and pull!" I hated giving the orange lump an excuse to hurt me, but there wasn't much choice. It was that or fight an opponent at range while stuck together, and I valued my life more than my arm. Besides, who wants to be stuck to Drome anyway?
  24. IC: Kadon "How do I not- gahhh, just shut up and run." I rolled my eyes. Drome was just so very...... Drome. Either way, Drome wasn't the issue at hand (Get it? Hand? I should have been a comedian instead of wandering around with Drome, I know). Angry, who was currently screaming for help, was. "Dramatic, isn't he?" I grumbled as I extended my free hand, palm facing the little nuisance. I charged up a bolt powerful enough to give him something to really yell about without draining much of my power (he seemed to have friends, these 'Sarsi' people he was going on about, so a big fight was probably heading our way) and grinned viciously. "Handsome visage, eh? NOT FOR LONG!" Feeling satisfied with my threat, I let the electricity fly, still grinning madly.
  25. IC: Kadon I tried pulling my hand off Drome's face, but nothing happened. Nonplussed, I stared at it for a moment before the cause of the issue registered: "I- I can't! That little bugger! He stuck my hand to your face with a piece of metal! And what on Mata Nui's green island do you mean, anger of the Nui-Rama?!" I yanked harder, but again, nothing happened. First the cut, now this! Feeling particularly enraged, I was about to make the mother of all threats when I suddenly noticed that Drome was charged straight at a log that was laying on the ground, and realized that he was going to trip. "Um, ah, JUMP!"
