  1. An interesting question I thought of because of some homestucks elsewhere on the internet mentioning BZP-

How many of you started reading HS because of BZPower?

I did, as did 3 other random people on the internet.

Hahaha I just noticed the topic over on those forums.

The guy you quoted on that thread was actually me.

(assuming, that is, that you are RG)

  2. I stopped caring about the reboot a while ago, because the primary media was just unexciting and unengaging to me, so I honestly can't say to be affected in any way by this announcement. So it's ending. I guess it it.

It is something of a shame though. I was looking forward to another year of the sets at least. To get the MoUP, to see where they were going with the Vahi...oh well. It was nice while it lasted.

  3. Well the second half of JtO is out now so we may as well have a dedicated topic for it.

Personally, I found them to not be too different from the first half, not terrible, but not particularly great. Largely mediocre, felt somewhat rushed. The last episode was sort of interesting, but that ending...well. It certainly gives credence to the idea that Bionicle is ending sooner than expected.

    Anyway, discuss away.

(remember to try to use spoiler tags at least for a little while)

  4. I mean, it was completely expected but the gray joint pieces really do break up the color schemes in a rather unpleasant way. Most notably on PB, the gray in the dress is just...egh, it ugly. Honestly, I would have preferred if they'd gone with clips rather than balljoints, if it could have resulted in better looking sets. They basically only have 2 points of articulation, so it's not like you're ruining them by restricting it a little more.

And Jake just looks...really off to me for some reason.

They don't look bad, anyway, all in all (Lady Rainicorn is particular looks really good) but I don't know if I'll be making this a day one purchase like I intended to. Guess I will see.

  5. I watched those three plus Flying Witch, Kuma Miko, AssClass and Mayoiga last season. Luluco is probably my favorite one, Kiznaiver wasn't too bad though. I kind of finished the season wishing I'd watched nothing else tho. Flying Witch and Assassination Classroom aren't bad, but I found the former unengaging and to the end I just couldn't care about AssClass. Kuma Miko was unpleasant to watch, and Sakamoto...is good. But I like the manga so much more, it basically wasn't a good use of my time. I decided to put it on hold until I finish the manga, so...well, the last volume comes out this month. Will try to get back to it.

Mayoiga deserves to be executed. Is bad animeme.

This season I'm watching the Danganronpas, seasons 2 of Binan Koukou Chikyuu Bouei-bu LOVE and Arslan, Mob Psycho 100, 91 Days, Amanchu, (this art clubs got probs yo), Naria Girls and orange. A friend may also get me to watch Love Live Sunshine. Not sure yet. Depends on whether he believes in Amazon. We'll see.

  6. There was a point, before the second season came out I think, when OreImo was on my to-watch list, but it became clear to me at some point that there was only one way a show with a title like that could go, and it was not one I cared to see. I have read about how it ended before though, and it really is about as bad as I would have expected. At this point I basically make it an habit to not even pay attention when the words "Imouto" or "Onii-chan" are in the title to anything. It is better that way.

Been a while since I posted in this topic tho...already mentioned Katanagatari. I watched all of SYD over the last month, it was pretty fun. Watched some Digimon Savers, Arakawa, Suite Precure, Cowboy Bebop before that...all placing somewhere on the decent to great spectrum, so that's...good. My to-watch list is getting shorter and shorter all the time (really hoping I can finally wrap it up this year) and I really hope I don't run into another friggin' Mirai Nikki. I can only take so much garbage.

Also watching like 10 shows this summer. Couple of them have started already. Haven't watched either. Finally going to finish reading Tonari-no Kaibutsu-kun first. Have reread up to volume 7, and boy do I love this manga. I've only read up to volume 9 previously, those last 4 volumes have me pretty hype. Should be fun.

  7. I watched Mirai Nikki over the past month or so. I regret having watched Mirai Nikki over the past month or so. It's a very bad show I do not like.

I also watched Mitsudomoe though. Mitsudomoe is hilarious. I like Mitsudomoe.

I also have watched and am watching a lot of other things. But I don't feel like talking about it.

  8. All things considered I think it would be nice to use spoiler tags for now considering it basically just came out, but...

The ending left me with a lot of disappointment and sadness, and it left me feeling pretty empty. Like, a lot. A lot. It was beautiful and everything, but it was completely unsatisfying.

I don't know what to think of an epilogue. If he purposefully left the ending as ambiguous as it could be, I don't think he would resolve things properly in an epilogue. Maybe I'm wrong, and it will be satisfying. But this...isn't, and it's all we have for now. And I don't want to start getting optimistic about the possibility of getting something satisfying, nor do I want to use that to try to offset my opinion of this ending. I was looking to Act 7 to redeem the failings I thought were present in the story as it was, and to dispel the reservations I had about the way things had gone. And then the opposite of that happened.

It honestly makes me pretty sad. Usually after making statements like that I go "oh well," but after being invested in this story for five and a half years now for this...well, it's not actually well.

  9. So.

    Collide.

    That was neat.

    That was neat.

I really liked this flash. Have watched it twice, freaking goosebumps pretty much the whole way through. Amazing thing. I even liked it art-wise more than Cascade, can't tell if it's just because I'm finally giving up about not liking guest art or just because it's generally better. Either way. Very little to hinder my enjoyment of this.

I especially love that it took the form of primarily Strife battles. We see the sprites too rarely, and seeing them back in force in this way was fantastic. Lots of cool stuff happened, especially those Fraymotifs! Really nice.

But...I am disappointed in it, as far as the fact that it doesn't really resolve anything goes. I was expecting something like Cascade where there's a dozen twists and unexpected things, everything is resolved and set up and when it ends it...ends. A lot of cool stuff happened in this flash but none of it was beyond the realm of possibility or expectability. What's more, the flash kept hinting to a few things that could have thrown some real twists in there, like Callie at the Green Sun and Gamzee in the fridge, but didn't follow through with them. The dream bubble stuff was underrepresented. And then it just kinda ended in a weird spot. It's a little underwhelming for what was supposed to wrap up this Act.

But. That is probably the point. The fact that it ended in the middle of things and that a lot of stuff hinted has yet to happen makes it clear that we're not nearly done. Plus the ending is obviously ominous. So I don't have a big issue with all that not happening, I guess, since it eventually will, just...for an EoA, it kinda failed to reach my expectations a little.

But I suppose that is both minor and will stop being relevant soon enough. It was really cool for what it was.

    And dat Undertale reference.

And I keep calling it a flash even though it's on Youtube. Oh well.

PRETTY bothered that A6A6I5 didn't have curtains before or during Collide, though. That's just sloppy.

  10. Yeah, in the show they're adults, but we've known for a while that the movie is unrelated to the show. There technically wouldn't be anything stopping them from making them high school kids in this iteration. It just seems like a slightly weird fit for the series.

It's not that late here, just like 10 pm right now.

  11. Maybe The U.S. Canada area will get are own special polybags for 2017

They're not polybags, but it's worth keeping in mind the Clear Tahu Mask and Tr. Neon Green Skull Scorpion Mask were exclusive to American cons. While this didn't mean most people in the U.S. could get them, it would be even harder for fans in other countries to. It's not like these are the only promos to see a limited release.

  12. That would be cool, but I don't really know how we would "get" Lego to do anything they weren't already planning on doing already. Stuff like organizing a new promotion sounds like it'd be a bit big for them to just do if asked nicely, unfortunately. Especially as polybags generally stuff that gets added to one's orders for free, I don't see how one would even go about petitioning for such a thing.

  13. I wouldn't stoop so low as to put an idol in my profile, such scum doesn't even deserve a place on the heel of my shoe.

    I see bugman III, esquire.

See it's funny because there's this show about statues as idols, and...look, ok, it's not actually funny. Still though, that's one solid gaze.

Amazon is actually the 6th bugman. Well, not this one, he's like, bugman the 27th, part A? Though actually Amazon is one of the few original Riders, and one of the many modern ones, to not actually be based on bugs........
