I was never a part of this, but I'm actually feeling fairly sad.The sad truth is, not every MMO can have the same success as World of Warcraft has enjoyed.

Oddly enough, I heard about them doing it from here, around the Bohrok days when I joined. They just sent it in one of those bubble envelopes, I just called and asked for it. I still had the kid voice then so that may have helped. Miru is still a mystery. I think it might have been from the Lego store near Disney World.

Onua. I remember I wasn't interested in Bionicle in the slightest, then I bought him because his mask looked gold on the cover. The rest is history...

I love how this was the first online community I ever joined-- We were all young and obsessed with proto-energy and collecting masks, and looked at the moderators like they were gods, making crazy stories and art based on this series. Now we're older and still here, and much more articulate.

Axonn and Brutaka, I thought they were awesome looking and they ended up being the last set I bought. I was considering buying a Mata Nui set for old times sake, or trying to acquire a Manas, since that is the only original set I never ended up getting. I was lucky enough to find the Tarakava shortly before them, though. Easily one of my favorite sets.

That is incredible. I have old PM's from 2005 when I was running some kind of avatar shop... nothing funny though.

Memes get extremely old. They fall in and out of style, and I think they hurt humor. I still enjoy the occasional obscure one here and there, but I think they come from darker corners of the Internet than BZPower's audience is accustomed to. I could be wrong, I look at the birthdays thing on the side and everyone is turning 20, 21. It makes me a little sad. :/

I am very nostalgic for it now... I miss the initial feeling that the first series of sets gave... things weren't clearly defined and it had this mysterious and attractive tribal vibe to it. Bionicle kind of tanked when Metru Nui came around. I found the whole idea of the "Matoran" formerly living in a huge city under the surface completely ridiculous. Granted, it wasn't all LEGO's fault. The Maori thing screwed up their terminology and they had to compromise their story for retcons. BZPower taking the forums offline for months was fairly harmful to the remaining community. BZPower and BS01 are essentially the heart and soul of Bionicle now. I would personally convert the original database to phpBB or something like that, so the site is easier to maintain. IPB is expensive.
