My four entries to the 2017 Bio-Cup on Flickr. Check it out if you haven't already, there's such a brilliant collection of stuff, and the winner is still to be decided! I thought I'd group all of these together for the sake of convenience. With the benefit of hindsight, I've got a few things to say about each of these, if you don't mind me doing so. Eliminatory Round: Bitil Revamp Round 1: Mompka Round 2: "One More, Oh Mighty Sun God." Round 3: Oblivion's Emissary I'm very content with my placing - top seven what up - in a competition which got such a large and consistent turnout. This competition pushed me to go beyond what I'm usually comfortable with, and I'd definitely be down to try different things in the future as I continue to grow and learn. Cheers to the judges and all my fellow contestants for making this Bio-Cup happen. I'll eagerly await the final rounds of MOCs that will decide the winner.

Two MOCists of considerable skill will compete against each other in a month-long MOC-off in 3 different themes. Lord Oblivion and I have been pretty much neck-and-neck in almost every contest (not to mention skill), and now is the time to settle who is the better MOCist once and for all! The three themes are: - Mecha/Robot - Obnoxious Colours - Switching Places Stay tuned from April 10 - May 10 as we post our MOCs from each category. Check out the Flickr group for more info and join it if you want. At the end of the month-long period scores will be given out by our anonymous judges. May the best MOCist win!

So I went to my first tournament on Saturday. I did extemporaneous speaking and impromptu speaking, which are the two limited preparation events. Extemp gives you a half hour to gather sources, impromptu just gives you two minutes to gather your thoughts (no sources required). I did much better on extemp, actually; but that may be partly because all of the questions were current events questions, and I follow the news closely (and critically; I'm not too trusting). I didn't make finals for either one, though; but hey, it was my first tournament, and I learned alot.

So I am in my school's forensics (public speaking) team. I do extemporaneous (limited preparation), impromptu (pretty much no preparation), informative, and parliamentary (debate) speaking. Our first competition is tomorrow, which means I probably won't be on tomorrow at all. But expect a blog about it Sunday. Anyone else do forensics?
