J0shBl0cks Posted June 6 Posted June 6 I dunno if asking for tips is good for a discussions forum, but I thought it'd be worth a shot. Whenever I look up Bionicle mocs on Flickr or the like I notice a lot of them incorporate techinic... techniques and ccbs parts. And I've always wondered to myself "How on Earth do they do that?!". Now, I'm not exactly a Bionicle veteran. Despite owning a couple hand-me-down G1 sets, I grew up with Hero Factory and G2. ******, my recent MOCs have been CCBS oriented!! But I heard that plain CCBS can be pretty "boring", so I do wanna branch out into doing more technic stuff, but considering my lack of experience ( and parts ) I don't really know where to start LMFAO. So, what're you guys' ideas? 1 1 Quote
InfinityStuffBionicle Posted June 6 Posted June 6 I'm not sure this fits in Bionicle Discussion, but I'm not sure where it would go either. As for my favorite method of using technic in Bionicle and hero factory MOCs, I use two technic beams with socket and ball joint pieces at the end, for a limb piece very similar to an Inika frame of CCBS frame's limbs, but with more customizability, and often larger. (I doubt this is a particularly uncommon thing to do, but I use it in a ton of my MOCs) 1 Quote Previous username: Takanuva111 GENERATION 6: The first time you see this, copy it into your sig on any forum and add 1 to the generation. J0shBl0cks Posted June 6 Author Posted June 6 Interesting. Would it be okay if you could give a visual example? I feel like I've seen something similar. But on that one, one of my favorite techniques I've seen online is by Lewis Hammond, combining the Inika waist piece with the G2 gearbox to make a pretty good and flexible torso design. I might try that out with my MOCs sometimes. One technique that I could probably make an attempt with is a fully technic torso with CCBS limbs. Lewis Hammond also made some MOCs like they, and they even had the gear functions!! I'll link some examples from his Flickr page ( long with the page itself): Quote

J0shBl0cks Posted June 7 Author Posted June 7 Huh, cool! Is that a combination of a pieces or some big, unique pieces? Quote

Is that a combination of a pieces or some big, unique pieces? combination. the biggest one at the front is an inika neck and a glatorian neck sandwiched between two bohrok torso pieces, with a hero factory/Bionicle G2 piece for the foot. the one right behind has two Technic Liftarm Modified Fan 1 x 7 (brick link name for it), each in different colors, again sandwiched around an inika neck and a glatorian neck. The third is two bohrok head pieces sandwiches around typical hand/socket joints, specifically the CCBS updated version. 1 Quote Previous username: Takanuva111 GENERATION 6: The first time you see this, copy it into your sig on any forum and add 1 to the generation. J0shBl0cks Posted June 7 Author Posted June 7 You got any social media or galleries where you share your mocs? I love to see them! Quote
InfinityStuffBionicle Posted June 8 Posted June 8 I have threads for a lot of them on here. I also have a lot I haven't posted yet, but i'll probably get around to it eventually.
