HeavyMetalSunshineSister
"Corporal Clegg" is absolutely brilliant, though if you're looking for pleasant noise to put in the background while you do things, you might do well to pass it by. Tenebrae Invictus
Well, my post yesterday didn't get through.I've now heard Atom Heart Mother, Meddle, The Final Cut, A Momentary Lapse of Reason and The Division Bell. The older two were better than the David Gilmour led Pink Floyd albums, and then those two were better than Final Cut.So now I've heard everything from Atom Heart Mother on. :biggrin:ADD: Sans The Wall. The one album I recall them all agreeing on that they all cooperated on and loved was WYWH, because it was supposed to be a memorial to Syd Barrett, I guess. But I think if they had kept their music similar to that album's sound and DSotM, they would have been better later on. Edited April 10, 2012 by Peach 00 Quote On the day the wall came down / They threw the locks onto the ground And with glasses high / We raised a cry / For freedom had arrived On the day the wall came down / The ship of fools had finally run aground Promises lit up the night / Like paper doves in flight I dreamed you had left my side / No warmth, not even pride remained And even though you needed me / It was clear that I could not do a thing for you Now life devalues day by day / As friends and neighbors turn away And there's a change that even with regret / Cannot be undone Now frontiers shift like desert sands / While nations wash their bloodied hands Of loyalty, of history / In shades of grey I woke to the sound of drums / The music played, the morning sun streamed in I turned and I looked at you / And all but the bitter residues slipped away slipped away... Tenebrae Invictus
If they had stayed they same after Dark Side, they wouldn't have been cool. I think the first of three concept albums in a row is an amazing album - in my opinion it's Pink Floyd's best - but Roger took much more control in the music than he should have. I mean, everyone's seen what the Final Cut says. A Requiem For the Post-War Dream by Roger Waters, Performed by Pink Floyd.
