Once, I was given a digital alarm clock. The moment I put the batteries in, it played the Can-Can at a blaring volume.

 

I later had to take the batteries out because it would interrupt me in the middle of the night while I was trying to sleep.

It's expected to be in the nineties here... and I'm further north than you.

Bah. You don't have our volatile weather. We went from a threat of a tornado to practically cloudless in an hour.

That's pretty mild. I live in Oklahoma, the bipolar state. In the last six months we've had 6 feet of flooding, the freakiest hailstorm, tornadoes, snow, heat waves, and so on. Oh, and earthquakes too.

I slept through our smoke alarm going off for 5 minutes, I only found out the next day when I was told it happened.
