Imagine if our necks were like screws in that if we rotated our heads our head + neck would pop out of our body, and also that are necks were flexible + extendable so we could look around corners around corners, and that that our detached neck-heads could float. So you could detach your head by unscrewing it, get someone else to detach their head, and swap bodies for a while, or go on an adventure as just a head (and a pair of hands, see that other blog entry), or extend your neck if you needed to see something up high.
