Wait Where'd That Entry Go?

Scanty Demon

I've come across this a few times, so I comment on a blog entry all fine and dandy. The next day the entry is gone without a trace like that episode of the Twilight Zone where those astronauts came back to earth and one by one they disappeared vanishing from existence (poor astronauts). So this kinda catches me off guard a lot and makes me very confused. Am I alone in that regard?

It is kind of obnoxious. Not that I begrudge them the right to remove a topic or whatever, but you're left with no clue as to where any of it went (or, more importantly, why). There really should be a system in place for that kind of thing.

However, if it's removed by the user itself... well, I dunno. Same thing, really. Sometimes blogs cause controversy, or whatever, and people think by removing the blog entry they can just pretend it never happened. There should at least be an acknowledgement of what happened.

I guess that it really isn't nice to delete a blog entry after there have already been comments; after all, locking prevents from further comments, and editing the original post, and maybe deleting the unwanted parts would have a rather similar effect...

I don't think I've ever deleted a blog entry with comments in my time on BZPower. O.o
