Something just doesn't add up.

I love the fact that they used some of the old music.

The reused Nightmare Moon theme from Episode 2 is still ... epic. I can't get over how fantastic the background music in this show is.

Rarity was there, it's just that she went as a ninja, and as the main seamstress for the town, she made such a good ninja costume that it was as if she was a real ninja, and therefore invisible.

I was going to say that she was probably asleep the whole time because everyone kept on asking for last minute changes and commissions and people kept on bothering her to make them an excessively elaborate costume all day into the night about it, so she spent the entire day locked up in the Boutique, working and mostly sleeping.

 

But I like Necro's idea better.
