Pokemon Music

So I just listened to a bunch of battle themes from Pokemon X and Y, and I... I don't know, I guess I'm disappointed? I don't know how I'd describe the feeling of liking the Trainer battle theme more than the Gym Leader or Elite Four themes. I seriously don't get how that could happen, given the excellent music from previous generations. I read a comment that sums up why I dislike the themes so much.

The majority of a lot of X/Y's battle music is just an intro, and hardly any music. Drums, an occasional note here or there, but it takes almost a minute to reach the melody, if you can even call it that.

That explains it a whole lot better than I could have. I heard the route and city themes were okay, but I don't know for myself. Oh well, time to play the HeartGold SoulSilver Gym Leader theme on repeat again!

Listen to some of the Epic Rock versions of some Pokemon songs. I may not play Pokemon, but the epic versions sound much better.

I highly doubt your words. You need to hear the original songs to know how good the songs were

Yeah I need to. It's just like a song from Dust: An Elysian Tale. It sounded WAY better than it was before. Now, I need to go lock myself in a room and go to youtube.

The gym battle themeand Elite Four battle theme in X/Y were a little disappointing. But I think the Champion battle theme was fantastic.

But I tend to like overworld music better than battle music anyway, and that did NOT disappoint. Some of the tracks from the early towns were a bit generic (not bad, but not substantially better than those in earlier games). But from about midway through the game, the music started getting progressively better. Mountain Kalos in particular only had a single theme I didn't like (that of Pokémon Village). Everything else was GOLD.

I can't wait to see what the music to the third version/sequel to X and Y is like. If it's as big of an improvement on this game's music as Black 2 and White 2's music was on the already-good music of Black and White Versions, it'll be something to behold.
