  1. This is a fanfiction I wrote for BIONICLE, about the aftermath of Makuta Teridax's takeover on the Matoran Universe. I wrote this story after I took inspiration from the official Phantoka/Mistika storyline, the final 'Battle for Power' comic with the end twist and from the last Bionicle novel, BIONICLE Legends #11: The Final Battle. I loved the serial, Reign of Shadows, on BIONICLEstory.com and it gave me an 'epic' idea to write a big story that would involve old faces and familiar characters from the BIONICLE Universe. After I read the comics and the Bionicle Legends novels, it will be a follow up to the Phantoka/Mistika storyline instead of a reboot with the Glatorian and the Agori on Bara Magna. If you have any thoughts or any constructive critism, please click here. Help is appreciated!
  2. I kinda disagree about Bionicle being enduring once. I think Lego, while they make great sets, should make a storyline with morals just like Bionicle. Lego chima was an interesting theme and when Lego released Chima for the very first time, in the beginning of 2013, I was very excited and thought this was going to be another big thing after Bionicle but there was no exciting story behind it. While I loved all the human-like animal warriors with their motorbikes, weapons, gadgets and vehicles, it almost gave me the impression that LEGO Chima was Lego's version of Thundercats (But there's nothing wrong with that, I still love Thundercats ). I know Lego's goal was to only sell toys but they could have took inspiration from Bionicle and create a story with a real-life purpose (Friendship, Teamwork, trust, loyalty etc). I don't mind seeing Cragger (from the crocodile tribe) turn from bad guy to good guy. Afterall, not all crocodiles have to be the evil villain/Antagonist . Chima's storyline doesn't have to go dark, just like Bionicle and Harry Potter when their story went dark, and there should be a build-up to their quest to search for the legend beasts (even though the Lion legend beast made an appearance in the TV series) I hope Lego would take notice and follow their example with Bionicle, it would teach kids (or grown-ups) the importance of helping each other and overcome the dark forces of evil. Hero Factory is also another 'Bionicle' with constructable and robotic heroes made at a factory and they have the same purpose as the Toa Nuva. Saving the world and the entire galaxy.
  3. But they could be relatives to the Agori/Glatorian? As they were native beings of Spherus Magna before Bara Magna and the other two 'moons' broke apart.
  4. Before the data loss, there was a topic called the 'Great Being theory'. A lot of people on BZPower came up with many great ideas for the BIONICLE storyline. Such as the whereabouts of Marendar (the Toa killing Robot) and a group of rogue Great Beings. I've been brainstorming my ideas about the identity of a Great Being as a character, and as a set. I know many of you would strongly disagree and prefer the Great Beings as a mystery, but what if the Great Beings existed as bio-mechanical like the Glatorian and the Agori? As a set, they would be built as Giant Agori-like or Giant Glatorian-like with the same set pieces (Bionicle and Lego) enlarged. 2x times, 4x times or 6x times bigger than the original (If LEGO has a special computer to change the size of the LEGO/BIONICLE/TECHNIC set pieces). They would have their armor worn but they would also wear their robes similar to the Turaga, like they were wizards or timelords? What do you guys think?
  5. Sorry. It was an idea floating in my head, if the Kanohi Hau was the robot face for Mata Nui.
  6. I remember in 2008 when the Mata Nui Robot was revealed, and the Toa Nuva reawakened him. And some of us fans weren't happy with his true form (I was happy with Mata Nui's Robot form). I Remember somewhere in the storyline that the Kanohi Hau was the symbol of Mata Nui. Would it be different if the Kanohi Hau was Mata Nui's robot face? I always think of how he would look like in his Robot form if the Hau was his face instead of his original face. What do you guys think? EDIT: I made this picture 3 days ago to get a clear idea if the Hau mask was Mata Nui's robot face.
  7. I hope the Toa Nuva and the Toa Inika won't turn against each other. Will Axonn aid the Toa in their Quest?
  8. To be honest, all the chapters are great! I also liked the first chapter with Takanuva, feeling worried and concerned about the Toa Nuva and his friends. Will there be a chapter where the Toa Inika found the Toa Nuva? It would be a good story where the Inika rescued them and teamed up as 12 Toa. The Inika went ahead with their mission to search for the mask of life while the Nuva battled the Piraka. Or 12 Toa (Inika and Nuva) teamed up to take down the Piraka?
  9. Sorry I was meaning the matoran traveling to Makuta's Lair.
  10. I highly doubt that the matoran would lose their lives while traveling to Makuta's Lair and witness Takanuva's confrontation with Makuta Teridax. I hope it didn't happen in the official canon. :worried face:
  11. For strange reason, doesn't Laval from Lego's Legends of Chima remind you of Lion-o from Thundercats?
  12. Personally, I liked the flashback from 2005 (Toa Hordika and Visorak) It shows more of their backstory as the Toa Metru and why Turuga Vakama and his friends knew alot about the bohrok swarms, etc.
  13. I agree with you, but then teridax can't be everywhere at once, he threw him far away from the robot's chest. And mata nui was safely away from him, giving him the full chance to succeed. EDIT: I apologise for the colour scheme bit. I was actually meaning if Mata Nui did come back with the Ignika (mask of life). If Mata Nui does have any knowledge or any experience as a Robot then I don't think he'll simply come back to regain his power or stop Teridax by himself. He'll simply come back to aid Tahu and his Friends after they know the truth about him while he was kicked out by Teridax. I didn't know about matter in space but I guess I was thinking of 'magic' and technology, Sorry.
  14. The mask would give him a 'Toa's body' and give him an oxygen to breathe while he was in space. His whole body would glow yellowish and be able to fly iron man-style.His colour scheme would be keetorange (Keetongu's colour scheme) and yellow. Obviously Teridax in mata nui's robot body would have sensed him. So he sent the heat vision Rahkshi in canisters to space as he was busy oppressing the inhabitants, they came out quickly to attack Mata Nui and Mata Nui disintigrated them with laser beams from his sword (similar to the swords from the toa inika) and destroyed the other half of the Rahkshi's group. He then flys back to Aqua Magna and the mask disguised him invisible to pass through makuta inside his old body, making sure makuta haven't sensed his returning.
  15. Since the end of 2008 when the Toa Nuva, Takanuva and the Av-matoran (Karda Nui Matoran) escaped from the 'spirit storm' in Karda Nui, and Makuta Teridax taking over the universe, I just think Mata Nui (trapped inside the mask of life) should come back to save them. (although the LEGO Group would have to make sets) It would be a good conclusion for 2009 instead of having Mata Nui exiled to Bara Magna and become a Glatorian. I would love to see him become a Toa and aid the Toa and the Matoran against Makuta Teridax. It would be like the Battle of Hogwarts in Harry Potter and the deathly hallows. This is an example on how I look at Mata Nui's return: The kanohi ignika would be lost and alone in deep space, mata nui trapped inside the mask, was pondering his thoughts. He has been the 'great spirit' for many years. he watched over the matoran universe from his former body while he was performing his mission to study alien planets from the real world, collecting knowledge as a resource, in order to restore his home planet Spherus Magna.
  16. Literally? Why? It's natural for people to move in their lives. You might not realize this -- I don't know how long you've been with BZP -- but we have always had a high "turnover" rate. That is, within a year, usually, a large percentage of the currently most active members would move on and not spend much time here anymore. While Bionicle was going on, naturally they were replaced by others over time, but now that it's over, it's just as natural that most of them wouldn't be (though there are exceptions). I've seen so many "generations" come and go now here since I started here that I'm quite used to that. Also, IMO it's simply leveled off. It's not like it's getting exponentially less. There was an average level while active, and there's a lower average level now that it's ended. For a while it went down (I would not say "declined" because that assumes that any particular level is right or wrong in terms of quality; arguably slower may be better as it's easier not to be drowned out in a crowd, so that's subjective), as it needed to get down to the new level. And now for over a year it seems to have settled into that lower level and be pretty stable there. Well, we are, aren't we? We've changed to a LEGO-in-general focus to keep things current, etc. As far as BZP goes I think we're doing a lot. I personally have been doing a lot to keep it going. But at the end of the day, yanno, we survived before Bionicle and its community, we would survive without it (or if not, then that's a bad habit we need to be weaned from). We need to keep it in perspective and realize it's an "extra". Although, granted, in terms of friendships and the like it can go beyond that. But that need not be dependant on Bionicle, I guess is the point. As far as Bionicle continuing goes, I don't think it's about "should" per se but about "keep your expectations low so that if it happens you can enjoy it better". This depends on you guys. As leader of S&T there's only so much I can do to foster discussion -- if yall want it, ultimately yall have to start it. The forum is sitting there open to any relevant topic being posted -- whether there's activity depends on you guys, including you, Luka. Any questions you have, any remaining mysteries you have a theory about, post! That's how you get talk. And yet, the story only ever existed to help sell the sets. Also, personally it's kind of a pet peeve when I encounter someone who doesn't appreciate LEGO itself. I doubt that is very many, but once or twice I've seen it. Maybe this is just my personal bias, but I grew up on LEGO and I was always a LEGO fan. When Bionicle was successful, I was happy about it for LEGO's sake (and of course my own ). Now, I understand that others naturally don't have my personal bias and might have grown up only with Bionicle and maybe not have the tastes to like System line like Ninjago, or less epic stories in the buildfig category like Hero Factory. I get that, but still it seems to me to be a flawed argument, intuitively, to base any argument on someone not being a LEGO-in-general fan, when we're talking about something that is inherently LEGO. Gotta nitpick that, though -- "fan" means someone who feels fondly toward Bionicle, as your definition implies at the end of this sentence, so "fandom" is not necessarily dependant on talk. I get what you mean, but to me fandom just means the total group of people who love Bionicle, whether they happen to be talking about it at any moment or not. However, your definition does work if we're talking about a particular Bionicle community being alive or dead. But chew on this -- you're judging what state is like death based only relative to some previous state (that probably isn't fairly comparable since at that time Bionicle was still being produced). But we could also judge that state of activity in relation to some hypothetical even higher state that never occurred, and say the fandom was always nearly dead, or, to take it the far better opposite way, we can judge even the slowest day of activity in terms of an even older state -- before Bionicle existed -- and say it's thriving. The point is, these are all relative terms anyways, and I very much question whether we need to judge now relative to something that's not now. Today is what it is because of factors that led to today. It's different -- it just is. Yanno? That said, no reason we can't try to improve it. I'm just saying, it kind of irks me when people assume that it's "dying" or "nearly dead" or such things based on such questionable comparisons. What's "empirically" true is merely that there is less activity now than at times in the past. The emotional connotations you attach to that are ultimately your choice. As for me, I prefer to look at it as positive. Yeah, yeah, I'm getting around to mine. May I just add that ironically, I now spend more time working on Bionicle-related activities than I used to in its "heyday" lol. But mostly I'm working alone on fanfics and various things like the contests (slowly, admittedly... but it's mostly other Bionicle stuff that is delaying those ), versus posting so much. You know, I still believe BIONICLE isn't dying and As a longtime Fan, I have seen Fan projects outside BZPower aiming to make Fanfilms of BIONICLE. (2001-2010:Journey's end)
  17. Can I ask where could I find the concept art for Pohatu on Faber Files?
  18. Could I draw my design on A4 Paper and should it be detailed and set-like?
  19. I love this story very much! It makes sense about Mata Nui's origin and I was surprised with the twist! I always believe that Mata Nui is one of the good guys. I wasn't sure about kapura as the disguised Great Being. Because I'm more used to him as a Ta-matoran villager. In canon, the Great Beings created Mata Nui as a robot. So in my opinion, you could have used one of the great beings and reveal their true forms as Glatorian. Or maybe Toa-like (As if they were cousins of the Toa species?) Even though Glatorian are Gladiators on Bara Magna and the Toa Evolved/Transformed from Matoran species, I just feel it seems right. And as I mentioned before in this topic I don't see the great beings as evil or scary looking. They are scientists, yes, and they have an interest for inventions. I have many ideas for the great beings. I see them as the 'Nuparu' species (the inventor of the Boxors) and the 'great beings' should be known as their nickname, not their species name.
  20. I don't believe the Toa Mata/Nuva wore organic kanohi masks like the Toa Inika and they were never brainwashed. The Toa Mata became Toa Nuva when they've defeated the Bahrag and were trapped inside the tubes, flooding the Toa with protodermis. The Toa Mata didn't wear their Nuva armor and their kanohi nuva masks until they were transformed by protodermis. Artahka did create them as the first Toa team (I think) Yes, they are Toa who have never been matoran villagers and yes they were trained in Karda Nui by Hydraxon, an agent from the Order of Mata Nui.
  21. If mata nui exists, then could he be a living computer? If he could see the whole matoran universe, then he could see every island and Karda nui in windows? (Like on the computer)
  22. Is there another chapter for Different Ignition?
  23. Oh no sorry, I was refering to the Piraka as the former Dark Hunters. I knew Nidhiki and Krekka are the Dark Hunters from 2004 because I followed the bionicle story.
  24. Were the Piraka (Zaktan,Hakann,Vezok,Thok,Avak and Reidak) former Dark Hunters like Nidhiki and Krekka?
