Nescent
^ Image is linked to full high-resolution gallery on Imgur ^ The Mobile Assault Terrain Apparatus (M.A.T.A.) is a terrain vehicle fit with four lava-spewing catapults, heavy armor, and sophisticated aiming technology. This video shows the machine's various features in action Firing the Catapults Step One: Take aim, and release one of the pins on either side of the M.A.T.A. The M.A.T.A. features extraordinary aiming precision, which will be detailed below Step Two: The catapult(s) will spring forward, launching hot magma at the target. The M.A.T.A.'s catapults can be triggered one-at-a-time, two-at-a-time, or all at once Step Three: Fire away! The M.A.T.A. can smother its opponents in lava in the blink of an eye Aiming the Catapults One of the most important features of the M.A.T.A. is its unrivaled precision and accuracy when aiming. This is thanks to its two-part aiming system. The first part of its system lies in the sophisticated wheel-shifting, allowing the catapults to swivel left and right without slowing down. Notice that the catapults can aim in one direction while the vehicle travels in another direction Why did it get all bent out-of-shape in this shot? Why, that's the vertical articulation system! The second precision-aiming system featured in the M.A.T.A. is its vertical articulation, which is a series of bones in the heart of the machine - its spine, if you will. Two points of articulation between the wheels and the catapults enables a wide range of angles, as seen in the following shots. Here we can see the M.A.T.A. leaning its catapults at a forward angle in order to aim at a distant target This behind-view gives a closer look at the internal structure of the M.A.T.A. The vertical articulation also allows for backward-leaning, to aim at closer or oddly-positioned targets Here is another angle which shows the beauty of the M.A.T.A.'s internal aim technology This image is a true demonstration of the vertical articulation's flexibility See here, as the M.A.T.A. combines its horizontal and vertical aiming systems for an extremely precise shot Closeups A closer look at the technology used to operate the M.A.T.A.'s powerful catapults In this image you can see what lies beneath the catapults when they are deployed The rear of the M.A.T.A. features a crooked exhaust vent and several pipes The M.A.T.A. Bonkle
You are a genius. Seriously. We see super-huge, super smooth and detailed MOCs quite often. And they're great, but it gets dull after a while. Then, every once in a while, there's a function-over-form gem like this that does something truly amazing. The only thing that could make it better was if it fired Shadow Leeches from the pods. Great work. 1 Quote I been away a long time.

Shoot, I knew there was something I forgot to do. I was gonna place some Shadow Leeches in each pod, I just forgot. Ah well. Glad you like it
Cirkitree
You found an actual use for those Vahki eye-head-shell-piece-things. That on it's own is commendable.Seeing that you've turned them into the launching element of a catapult.. that's even better.I really, really like this. The concept, the design... all of it. The concept, the design... all of it.Thank you kindly, those Vahki eyes were the thing that started this whole MOC. I noticed how perfectly the Tridax Pods fit, made a little catapult mechanism, the rest just followed. I've wanted to find a use for those clunky pieces for a while now! AWESOME!
