Sir Keksalot
I've been wondering what happened to the soundtrack from the Miramax films, and why it's so hard to find. I understand that Miramax got the axe, so I assume that might have something to do with it; but that makes me wonder who actually owns that music now. Quote Rule #1: Always listen to Kek. Xboxtravis
Disney sold Miramax off to another group last I heard, they didn't shut it down. Quote All aboard the hype train!
Pohaturon
I don't know the whole story, nor can I grab a source on this off-hand, but I remember something about how the composer was legally prevented from keeping any of the material (or at least all of it, He might still have a few original recordings...), and Miramax just flat out didn't release it on its own. The result is 1) most YouTube versions being ripped from the film, some still with other SFX and even dialogue and 2) lots of unhappy fans who would love to own the soundtrack in its own. That said there are a few YouTube versions which seem to be just the music tracks, and they are pretty complete with no gaps or missing tunes. Don't know what's up with those though. ToaTImeLord
What I know about the music industry is when a music company goes out of business and doesn't sell the title to a song to someone else. Then that song is public domain after so many years after the company goes out of business. Also if we get enought music majors listening to the existing soundtracks they could rewrite a score for it.I did a similar thing with the G2 web episode theme. Iruini Nuva
He's also got them on Soundcloud. And yes, I believe there was a nearly-successful attempt to release the soundtrack in the past that ran into a snag.
