Excuse me while I just Glitch Mob for the next few weeks. (This is where my sig is from.) (I feel obliged to turn every burp into "we are" from now on.)
So last night was the first show of their new tour circuit, and it was in Maine, so naturally I had to go. Was accompanied by my best friend, my roommate, and my roommate's friend. We were also first in line because we showed up two hours before the doors opened. We ended up in the first row of seats, which is about midway back because there's a lot of standing-room floor space at the front. I got some video!
That's my voice freaking out over the awesome setup at the beginning. My
I'm typing this a few days before the set publish date, because that day I'll be busy, but I feel like it would be a good time to take a moment and look back. No, this is not me announcing my departure or anything like that, it's just something I really wanted to take the time to say. I've met and talked to a lot of people online over the years, and a good deal of that activity has been centered around BZPower and the BIONICLE fandom. I've had other interests, of course, but those have come
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F7jgEUoCJEo&t=879 At about 14:40 as it pans to Aelita. For me it's always kind of disappointing to hear sounds that I recognize from other media (in this case, The BIONICLE Music from 2001) because it means one if not both of the parties involved just used existing audio. Also hi Ghost Channel, nice to see you again. I didn't need to go to sleep anyway.
This was that silly BBCC entry I was talking about. Decided against entering it because I've already made something better. (It's awful not having a decent camera anymore.)
I don't know whether to wait and build something meaningful that might actually have a chance or post the thing I just built five minutes ago because it's kind of funny and I want to post it before anyone else posts something like it. (No it's not like a stocking spider or anything, but it also doesn't have that many parts and no doubt it'll be crushed by other people's stuff.)
2005: "For some reason, he doesn't scare me anymore." 2003: "Back, you foul creature! One more step, and I'll—" I think this was my favorite part of the movies.
Expectation: Oh boy, I can't wait to finally go home and use all these new parts I ordered to build some awesome things! Reality: I'd already built a bunch of stuff and used most of my base pieces, then shipped half of it off on a nationwide journey. Dang it.
Before I got the set, when I was still gazing longingly at the little pamphlet and drooling over these "bionicles", whatever they were, I don't think I really understood how he worked. Like was his toe a rock or something? And the way he was posed reminded me of the RoboRiders, with his feet in the front and back, but especially the way he had his arms up in the air like that. It seemed the least humanoid of the poses. Also I'm pretty sure Onua's picture made me think of the Mata torso sho
Paying too much for Oban t-shirts. NOT CARING AT ALL. (If I had known they'd get back to me about it today I'd have waited to put those BrickLink orders in, oh well, not like I needed my next paycheck for anything else right.) Apparently the Aikka one I ordered was the last XL of that design they had. That kinda makes me sad. I shall protect it even more intently now.
(I added bunny ears.) Not really, but they're there to balance the space out better and add more dimension to it. Also replaced the duct tape with hot glue so it's not as ugly now. I plan on possibly covering the entire thing in fabric at the end so that should help smooth out the raggedness that's there now. Still need to add more foam, though.
