Unless other sets really stick out to me as being useful in MOCing, I'll definitely have more money to buy some System stuff. (Which is a good thing.)

The other night at almost 5 or 6 in the morning (so..."The other morning at..."?) I sat up abruptly and looked at my roommate's bed sheets (he was at his friend's house) crumpled up on his bed, and thought:
I need to disarm the bomb under his covers.
No...why would there be a bomb under his covers?
It doesn't matter. There's only 15 minutes left to disarm it.
It doesn't make sense. I would have done it already. If I just go to sleep no one will know I didn't do anything.

It's not until Friday, but that doesn't matter. What I got was a razor. Y'know, to shave with. It's a Gillete Fusion, with five blades and an extra one on the other end. So it looks pretty nice.
The package it came in (it came the mail), it was free mind you, said something like "You're 18! Here's a razor!"
Weird.
My current razer works fine (Gillete Mach3, also free from about 5 years ago), since I have about 6 spare blades from an 8 pack or something, so I don't need a new razor.
Still 8 days until graduation! Actually, I would have been graduated by now in 8 days....

So...I revamped Photok for my own personal liking. It started with giving him a mata head just because I wanted to. Then I added a little more orange to him. Then I figured out an amazing hand design that is so much better than Hydraxon's or other kinds that use the T-bar. So given that those fingers are silver I gave him an added bit of silver too!

Spoiler alert: Once you graduate college you suddenly find plenty of time to read books that have been on your list for years, because homework is nonexistent! While I read a lot over the summer, fall and winter, I have only just recently been pushing through books left and right. We're probably the only school in the area that is still having classes with 7 inches of snow on the ground. Elementary schools, high schools, the other colleges in the are--all off for snow. Except for us.

Monday morning. My alarm goes off at 8:30 so I can get up in time for classes and get a package before hand.
Hit the snooze button a few times because I know my roommate is already up, so it won't bother him.
A little background before I continue:
Freshmen year I turned off my alarm right as it went off once, causing my roommate and I to miss our 9 o'clock class (and we would have missed our 10 o'clock one as well if my friend hadn't called the room phone at that time).
Earlier this year
Well, on Saturday I went to my first Lego User's Group (LUG) meeting! The group is WAMALUG (Washington Metro Area LUG). I went with two 16 year old friends, and had an interesting time. I was able to talk with AFOLs young and older, and almost every new set was there. I was able to see the new Aqua Raider sets, some new Exo Force, a couple of Barraki and all the small box sets, and some new Star Wars sets.
We also played BrickQuest, an RPG using Lego.

In case you haven't heard, Nukaya and I have this cool idea about having a community-built LEGO mosaic coordinated in time for BrickFair. Basically, each volunteer would be tasked with building a 32x32 segment on a baseplate with the studs facing out. (More details here for the general info.)

So this is interesting and something that everyone should learn but will probably forget: I'm sure we are all familiar with acronyms: words that when each letter is broken down they each stand for something, like TARDIS, scuba, and radar. But what I bet you didn't know is that terms compiled of letters standing for something but not sounded out, which you probably thought were acronyms, like FBI, HTML, and DFTBA (and BZP for that matter), are correctly called initialisms.* Does it matter?

I baked some cookies today--jelly centered thumbprint and chocolate chip ones, to be exact--and they were a huge success! Definitely something I'm going to do in the future, because who doesn't like cookies?!?! (Not my roommates and friends, I'll tell you that much! They thought they were great!)

Talking with my roommates, I disclosed that I had never had a Nerf gun as a kid. Now, my roommates all have a few Mavericks in their possession, and one's brother has almost every one currently out. They're all talking of Nerf gun wars and whatnot.
