Am I the only one who is noticing this 'trend'? I mean, okay, not everyone has the same way to depict Bionicle characters. Some prefer an organic, human approach while others stick to 100% set-like portrayals. And now for the big, ugly truth: Both styles are completely legitimate, and neither is better or worse than the other one. If I like to do humanoid depictiond, fine! If I enjoy making ridiculous, big-eyed chibi drawings, fine! If I go for incredibly detailed and realistic set-like draw
November was insanely stressful, with tons of work, also related to going abroad for the last few days to join a workshop on... science-y stuff. So that's why I wasn't around that much. ^^' and now it's almost Christmas. Where did the time go?
Nothing's ever going to end my obsession with elves wearing fancy hats. =P As much as fun as drawing elves taking selfies ^^" I guess it's the pointy ears. Originally this was supposed to be sort of monochromatic, since I recently got a sepia-toned (read: brown) fineliner which I wanted to test, but somehow I guess choosing an ochre coloured pencil didn't work out like intended at all. Not a self-portrait, not even intended to, and I think my hair's longer than that, anyway. A response to
I'm gonna take a break.
Not only from Bzpower, but from my whole computer.
Why? I haven't been myself lately. See, when I come home from school, I go straight to the computer. I forget things all the time, and when I'm not on I keep thinking about the forums and all that stuff. I need to tell what is me, and get some kind of distance to the virtual world.
Don't get me wrong, I don't have problems with any of you. It's just that I've found myself being unable to tell what's real and what's
I would like to point out that drawing into a calendar is only a good idea for so long until you create something you actually like. :/ Like that concept I recently doodled up, shown below. Admittedly, this was not done during a lecture, but rather a short break in between, but it still qualifies as doodle for there was no pre-sketching or similar. I like drawing armour, it's always a fun exercise. Even if drawing chainmail is annoying. Anyway, that's one of the deities from a fantasy
There's something bugging me but I can't talk about it.
And because of that I'll just tell you a bit (more) about myself. Haha, as if I wouldn't do that all the time... aanyways, back on topic.
I'm extremely scared of going blind. It'S not like I had some disease or something, but one day I woke up and thought "What if". And then I realized that 90% of the things that make life worth living for me would become impossible.
Drawing.
BZPower.
Reading.
Seeing the sun.
Or other people.
...is a battle if you're using LaTeX and have never done anything like it before. (I may point out that this code is probably poorly written and not exactly elegant, but it works so I am happy.~) The documentation of the beamer class is helpful though, as is the internet. Took only between 3 and 4 hours to understand how it works (read: grasp the basics of the basics behind it ^^), but at least now my presentation is held in friendly greens. :3 (maybe not the most prefessional colours, but hey
Seriously, whenever I dig up all those old entries where I do nothing but telling you how sad I am and these received the most replies... and then the entries about these entries... and the entries about all that sadness in my blog.
I got some new ballpoint pens today, all in different colours, 10 of them, and obviously they are suitable for drawing. Which makes me a lot happier than it should.
Okay, I saw this around. In the Comics forum, but sometimes also in GA.
Seriously, is that really necessary?
Of course, it is easier to go to a topic and post "it sucks" or "you fail" instead of giving helpful advice and help the person improve.
When you view something there, it's never the final stage of improvement. No matter whether the artwork/comic/story is by a famous writer/artist/comic maker or by a starter. There's always room for improvement. People just need time. You can hel
^taken from a snapshot from the game Drakensang - The River of Time (which is the sequel to Drakensang, BTW), where I am playing as - surprise, surprise- an elf again, a lady this time. ^^ I had to re-install it a few days ago because it once crashed while saving, and pretty much messed up the quicksave, which is bad... now I have it running at the lowst graphics settings, and oh wonder, it's working well. Just doesn't look -as- pretty. Ah well. But then again, there's so much to look at in th
Whaaaat? I had a maths test today. And one of the problems, was, well... it was similar to one we'd already had in that course, but that was one of the few problems hardly anyone had been able to solve. Which means I had to improvise. D: And a friend of mine too said that it was odd (and he was one of the few who had been able to solve the other problem :/ ). Ah well, we'll see how it will turn out. But there's something odd I have noticed about maths and art: on some rare occasions, after ha
...not much to say about this one. Apart from the fact that I want a Skakdi character to play around with :/ This is what first drafts usually look like, and yes, I only use a minimum of guidelines.
weeeell, actually not all of them... but quite a handful. ^^
There you go.
Soo, from left to right, we have:
Takanuva, Kualus (the little thing down there), Takarion Avon (self-made character), me [no, NOT an obsession of mine, but I wanted it to be like some kind of family portrait, so I had to include an idealized self-pic], a smiling borg, the Starship Enterprise, Leander Milan (I made her up sometime ago, and she won't seem to leave me), aaand, last but not least, Taka Nuvia
Again
Get up in the morning -try to wake up for 'about an hour, including breakfast -do maths go to university -lectures, 1 on physics, 2 on mathematics (+ sometimes informatics/Fortran) get home again -lunch -some relaxing (including BZPower and stuff) -maths dinner go to bed -maybe dream about maths **** Is this what people mean when they say they have "no life"?! I don't know... it's annoying, though. Blaaaargh. (<I swear I until seconds ago had no idea that this emoticon exists. It
So that one physics course. It's a bit... um, let's say chaotic, as in, I can't really take notes and that's annoying. So I guess it's going to be my new doodling class. Last time I had something like that was in school... oh well. Figure 1: Protons and neutrons bound together by strong force. As you can see, we're currently dealing with particle physics. And this particular part always makes me think of the same thing, as depicted in the sketch above. So, the strong force
I'm fairly sure the exam went well. :3 That's cool, because now I have a month of holidays where I'll have all the time to study for another exam in march xD So yeah, I'm happy. ^^
