I just finalized my budget for Christmas gifts this year, and my total came to $55. From this amount of cash I must provide gifts for each of the 11 people listed below. Basic math will tell you that this restricts each person's individual gift budget to $5, IF I distribute evenly. Here I will keep a record of gifts planned for each person, as well as the cost of their gift. Suggestions are welcome. Mother: | Item: 2010 calendar + pickup of hated furniture | Cost: Unknown x .7 + free Father: | I
Tomorrow I'm going tubing with Queen...apparently, it'll be a 3-hour ride to the river, so I'll be bringing my DS Lite, DSi, and Dante's Inferno. And possibly other things.
The winner was Kelly Park. I'm disappointed that it wasn't Typhoon Lagoon, but I'm not complaining too much; Kelly Park seems like a really cool place.
The next theme is to pick the coolest place or activity that begins with Q, X, or Z. If anyone has any ideas for this, shoot them my way.
Christmas is now in full swing at my house. The oven has been churning out sweets of all kinds, and the tree has been decorated. Gingerbread houses are almost ready for construction, and I desperately need to finish up Christmas shopping. Here's the list again... Mother: | Item: pickup of hated furniture | Cost: freee! Father: | Item: oven glove | Cost: $1 Brother: | Item: wireless GameCube controller | Cost: $16 Sister: | Item: DSi camera flash | Cost: $16 Grandmother: | Item: image editing boo
We got our Christmas tree earlier tonight. Somewhere between 7 and 8 feet tall, we found it on sale for just $45. I'll get photos up later if I can.
EDIT: Photo:
Mornin', everyone. Not much going on today. My uncle's paying me a visit this afternoon to 'punch out' my room. For those that don't know, that's construction slang for 'add finishing touches to.' You see, I live in my mom's garage. No, seriously. Two years ago (roughly), my uncle built a simple room in the garage, and I moved into it. So, my uncle's coming over today to do some painting, caulking, and possibly wooden flooring. This process will probably last until the end of the week.
So unt
It's been quite a while since I last blogged, but between school, all of the BBC contests going on, and other activities (like going to Disney's Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios on Monday with Queen), I haven't found much time to blog. However, I woke up early enough today to get ready and still blog.
The most important thing right now is the BBC contests. I've already got the Bandersnatch neatly entered, but I still have work to do for the other two running right now (go down a few entri
Merry Christmas!
As expected, my gift count was way down this year. However, in light of my laptop (half the reason the count was low), that's 100% okay. For those who are wondering, here's the actual list: Laptop bag $25 Barnes & Noble gift card Stocking candy (of course) Any 20 pieces from my brother's Bionicle collection $5 We had breakfast (bacon, pancakes, and eggs mixed with sausage) here, then went over to my grandmother's house around 11 for an early lunch. Since Ding and my grand
I'd like to pick up my blog again sometime soon. This will likely happen once I get my laptop, which I will have by Christmas, under sworn oath.
In other news, the reason I'm posting an entry today: check out the member spotlight. Brickshelf and Majhost are currently out of comission, so I can't load a picture. Would someone help me out? I have the photo; just nowhere to put it.
Last night I went shopping with my mom at Target, and she somehow managed to sneak the Kaxium V3 into the car without my notice! I am now the proud owner of the blue double motorbike. Review pending, but it won't be for an unopened set.
I am currently facing a dilemma. I became a one-year Premier Member on BZP in early January of this year. That means my membership is almost used up. The dilemma I face is whether to continue being a Premier Member and keep up with this blog. This is all tied into the greater question of what to do with myself in terms of Bionicle and Lego. You see, unlike many here, I was not a big Lego fan prior to my interest obsession with Bionicle. The end of the Bionicle line has presented me with the diff
I just walked about 40 minutes (roughly two miles) to my grandmother's house carrying a pair of pants for her to fix, then rode a bike at her house back home.
The current temperature in my area is 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
If I measured in feet the amount of sidewalk between my house and my grandmother's, I would not get a three-digit result.
...
Now excuse me while I don't move for awhile.
...what is possibly the largest non-prehistoric moth on the planet. This thing was massive. It had a four- or five-inch wingspan and was fluttering around my uncle's outside lamp when we dropped off my cousin at her house after VBS. I took some pictures of it with my DSi, I'll upload those as soon as I can borrow my sister's SD card.
Now I have under 24 hours to sleep, attend school, do my homework, learn to use GIMP (Photoshop being inexplicably unavailable), take pictures of Kaiapu, and pull together some kind of entry picture to enter.
Also The Legend Reborn comes out tomorrow.
Oi.
Sorry to all that came here via the link from my Member Interview.
I know my blog isn't very exciting.
I'm thinking about picking it back up again.
If you agree (or disagree) that I should, go ahead and leave a comment in this entry.
Well, it's been quite some time since I posted an entry here. I plan to start blogging more often, and give my blog a theme. Anyway, here's a quick list of interesting things that have happened since I last blogged.
A parent-teacher conference was held at my school Thursday night. My mom went with me, and I got positive comments all around. My mom tried to enroll me in AP Chemistry, and found that (as I told her) I have to take Chemistry Honors first. My mom got sick on Monday. She hasn't work
Tonight's Christmas-y event was gingerbread houses. I think mine came out pretty well, but I'll let you decide for yourself:
In other news, as you can see by the recently updated list below, Christmas shopping is nearly complete. In order to stay with budget, I decided to give my gingerbread house to my aunt and uncle.
That's about it for now, so until next time!
Happy Independence Day to all. Tonight's festivities for me include setting off fireworks leftover from two years ago that we've been using for two years.
Anyone else doing anything tonight?
I was browsing the BBC forum and saw an MoC of Ravage, and remembered that while I was watching the movie I had thought, "that looks like it would make a really cool MoC." I've always found copying things exactly into Bionicle form is either too difficult or downright impossible (see Scimita, who is based on Samus), so I thought of mixing around the letters in Ravage's name to make a new name for my MoC to show how it's only based on the movie Ravage. So I wrote the letters of Ravage's name on l
He's got arms and legs, but needs a torso.
He's about Takanuva '08 size.
By my personal schedule, I have until about noon tomorrow today to finish him up.
Then I'm at my dad's until Sunday night.
Kaiapu comes together Sunday night or Monday afternoon.
The whole thing is done and entered by Tuesday afternoon, for better or for worse.
I wish I had more time.
My brother began learning how to play drums perhaps a month ago. For those who don't know, when learning to play drums, the learner is typically assigned a given amount of time to practice on a 'practice pad,' a small pad of one material or another that makes less sound than an actual drum. Because of this attribute, it didn't bug me much when he practiced on the pad, as he was required to do it in his room. However, the other day, he and my mom dredged up an ancient drum set - dented, rusted, p
Realizing that BZP could be offline for a great deal of time, I have decided to begin blogging by sending myself e-mails containing blog entries. These e-mails, once BZPower is back online, will be posted on my blog as entries.
And my, did I pick an excellent time to begin blogging this way. First you must know that my father is originally from India, but has extended family all over the world, including (but not limited to) London, Dubai, and America. Well, yesterday at approximately five o'
