A collection of some old, but great, text-only computer games. My favorites are Hamurabi and Super Star Trek.
Hamurabi is a crude simulation of an ancient city-state, Sumer. You allocate bushels of grain to plant and grow more, feed to your people, and buy more land. It's challenging, but can get addicting. An interseting story behind it is that the real name of the city's ruler is Hammurabi, but the second 'm' was dropped when the game was put into David Ahl's book of BASIC computer games
Woohoo, 4th of July
So, my birthday is on the 12th, followed by Captain Picard's the next day. I really don't have any idea what I want though... :/ But, on the other hand, my cousins from Colorado are coming over and I'm celebrating both my and my aunt's birthdays, so that's a plus.
As for books, Pendragon is over, Harry Potter is over, Hitchhiker's Guide is over. I've got the second half of Sherlock Holmes to read, but after that my library's run dry. Any book recommendations?
Kk,
Yeah, I'm not surprised... We aren't doing fiction, mind you.
Just had my science and math midterms. That was the easy part. I'm dreading the Spanish one. Not that I'm bad at Spanish, but from what I hear, it's a scary test. Man.
In other news, I am now a co-host of the Bionicle Caption Contest, the largest game on BZP! Head over there, go for it! It's fun! So yeah, feel free to shower me and my ego with congratulations and worship. XD
By the way, if you're wondering why I'm postin
I've decided to take requests for avvies and banners!
If you want one, you can do one of two things: if you want most of the creativity to be up to me, you can fill a short form. If you want more control, fill out the second, longer form.
First form:
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «Avatar or Banner:
Link to desired image:
Simplistic or effects:
If banner, 250x100 or 468x60:
Notes:
Simplistic would be just the image with a black border. Effects would include that wit
Yes, I've been getting into the habit.
I know the effects are pretty much the same as the ones on the Krika banner... But eh, whatever. I think they look cool.
You can use these for free, by the way.
I saw Sherlock Holmes today.
Epic.
I highly recommend it, despite what "critics" say. It is an awesome movie, and is true to the books. The actors are great, and maybe best of all, it set itself up for a sequel. And, for once, the directors did it really well. It is a Sherlock Holmes movie, no question about it. Conan Doyle probably would have written it the same as it was.
Go see it. Now.
A little song to celebrate Christmas: Happy Christmas (War is Over) by John Lennon.
---
So this is Christmas
And what have you done
Another year over
And a new one just begun
Ans so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young
A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear
And so this is Christmas
For weak and for strong
For rich and the poor ones
The world is so wrong
And so happy Christmas
First of all, Nuju Metru is friggin' awesome.
Second, I'm getting Mata Nui for Christmas. I would have gotten Ackar, but MN has yellow parts, something that I don't have much of. I might even be able to use him for a self-MoC.
Third, I never really realized how fun it is writing fiction. I think my work-in-progress SS will turn out good. I'll just say this: it's about the Tuyetverse.
So, anyway, I need some name ideas, just to get me thinking. What do you think are good names for a Mat
I have the hiccups.
In other news, I completed the first draft of a short story today. (No, not the one mentioned earlier.) I'll probably have at least two more drafts before I post it, but yeah. Expect it before New Year's.
So, you've all heard about the new serial coming up, right?
No?
Well, here you go.
Cool, eh? Yeah, I can't wait for that. In this topic, I voted Lightning, Magnetism, The Green, and Psionics (FTW). But let's get to the point. I kinda had an idea, inspired by this, to write a short story about a Toa team of my creation. Maybe even a series, if it comes out good. So, watch'a think? Should I attempt such a feat?
Republished, 'cause I want responses.
