Yo! We have a contest! About ninjas and Ninjago and ninjesque stuff!. You can draw 'em! You can write 'em! You can... comic 'em? Look Windrider is anime ninja dork and you'll make him happy if you enter. "But there's only twelve-ish hours left!" YOU'RE A NINJA WHO CARES
This week I made two mistakes: First, I made the mistake of starting to read the Let's Play of a little game called Dangan Ronpa a few days back, a Japan-only mystery/action game for the PSP. Second, I made the mistake of getting to about the last third of the game - in other words, precisely when things get real - just before the weekend started. I legit just spent the better part of five-six hours just reading this game. If my Japanese were a little better, I'd start looking for some way
Do you like RPGs about ambiguously mechanical elemental robots? Have you been waiting for a chance to unleash your idea about said RPGs upon the world? Did you recently take place in a long and occasionally tiring debate about the proper style for getting said RPGs up and running? Well first of all you're a nerd, just like the rest of us, and second of all you'll want to read this topic, because as of today Bionicle RPG switches to a judging system like OTC! We'll be monitoring how well this w
Hoo boy. Where to start? Well, last Wednesday sounds good. So as you may have heard, last week was my final week at Microsoft. This was all well and good, but there was also the slight issue that this meant I needed to present my summer's work to management on Thursday morning. (I actually wound up doing it twice at my boss' request, but more on that in a second.) As you might expect, I was pretty busy Wednesday revising and re-revising and practicing my presentation. When I did finall
Okay folks! Here's the thing: the LEGO RPG forum is, shall we say, not exactly booming. So let's sit down and talk about something completely hypothetical here. You know, no reason to read into things too much, just a friendly chat. Say, hypothetically, we wanted to hold a LEGO RPG contest, much like our better-known Bionicle ones. And say, hypothetically, it would be focused on, I dunno, let's say Chima. Chima sounds good. In this completely implausible Chima RPG contest scenario - what wou
Add me to the tally of BZPers who've voted. In the spirit of keeping things non-political on BZP (first person to make the oxymoron joke gets one right in the kisser), I'd rather not disclose my vote publicly, but it's one I was proud to make. (If you are madly curious for some reason, feel free to contact me privately.) If you're reading this, and you've yet to vote, and you're able to do so - do so. Even if you're not in a 'swing state', your support does matter - the electoral vote might
Thought I'd go ahead and round up the games I'm looking forward to this year, because I'm procrastinating because I feel like getting a hold on them. So, in order of North American release: Resident Evil Revelations [3DS/February 7th] I'm a big fan of the RE series, and when I heard there'd be a full entry on the 3DS I was hyped. Took them a while to make it (it was announced way back at E3 2010), but the demo they released was pretty darn good, and I'm hearing a lot of good reviews. My big
Due to entries from this period being lost, a condensed version has been made available for your convenience. Basically, WROTE A FIC, GOTTA REPOST IT WENT BACK TO COLLEGE, DROWNED IN PROJECTS GOT POKEMON, DISCOVERED THE EXP SHARE WAS PRETTY OP BUT DIDN'T REALLY MIND BECAUSE IT SAVED TIME ALSO GOT THE ENGLISH RELEASE OF SCREAMING LAWYERS 5, HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU DO THE SAME GOT PROMOTED TO FA, BECAME THE ETERNAL ROOMBA DUSTING OFF AN OUTLINE FOR A REALLY LONG FIC FOR NANO NEXT MONTH,
Handsome semi-canon Professor Layton wishes you all a good day. Lego robot Layton does not, because he can't talk. He is a Lego robot, and not the kind that goes around in groups of six and fights ambiguously-sci-fi evil. (Also, I'm hoping to post a pseudo-epic sometime in the next week or two.)
Some of the stuff this woman pulled off in translating the Harry Potter books into Japanese is brilliant. You think making puns is tough enough, try translating them.
Just a heads-up that I'll be out of town until Sunday evening with the possibility of limited internet, so I might be slower to respond to PMs and the like until then. In the event I really can't get on to BZP at all, an early happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Americans!
Daaaaang it's August already time moves faaaaast It's been mostly radio silence here in blogland recently, so I'm well overdue on filling folks in on life/plans/vidjamagaems/etc. Life: I've... actually been kind of active on BZP this summer! No new fics, true, but I've been having a good time in the BZPRPG, and of course there's been the 2015 stuff to deal with. Chalk this up to my actually having the summer off. ...Unfortunately (fortunately?) said mostly-free-summer is solely due to the
There's a HF video contest with some very impressive prizes (and very little publicity) going on right now. I personally don't intend to enter, but it's such a great opportunity for HF fans that I'd hate to see people miss out just because they didn't know about it. On the plus side, if not enough people enter, it seems they'll provide a two-week extension - but I wouldn't bet on that. Source: Hero Factory Discussion
The reformation of a planet is not a pretty thing. It may seem simple to onlookers; a bit of mask magic here, a giant robot there, a few shiny lights, and presto: one Spherus Magna, made to order. Breathtaking vistas and awe-inspiring oceans available at no additional cost. But a planet has enough going on beneath the surface when it’s had millions of years to settle down; one that’s just been clobbered together by sheer force of will is going to be doing some heavy lifting behind the scene
Also hey speaking of Pacific Rim I hear there's this pretty sweet contest about Monsters vs. Titans going on! You should take a look. 'Cause that what all the cool kids are doing.
...not using a VPN to unlock your copy of Mass Effect 3 at 9 AM tomorrow, but rather attending classes until 5 PM and then studying for midterms until 11 PM. (ps: being a responsible member of society sucks)
It's been about a month since I last posted on this little bloggy thing, and plenty of stuff's been happening, so I figured it was overdue. So! Work. Microsoft continues to be a pretty sweet gig, if a busy one. And man was E3 awkward around the office. Anyway, I'm usually there from like 9 to 5 or 6 most days, so if you're wondering why I seem to only be around in the evening these days, there's yer answer. Writing-wise! I put some entries in the Flash Fiction Marathon. You should too!
We're back (again!) Which is a good thing, since lately stuff has been happening! Whoa! Exciting! Thrills! Exclamation marks! But seriously... First of all, the Sam minifig that the ever-awesome Nuju Metru made came in the mail thanks to the efforts of also-ever-awesome xccj. He's already making friends with the Dalek figure on my desk. Second, I finished my sophomore year of college! As far as I know, all my classes went pretty well grade-wise, and I'm already looking forward to next yea
